We've all talked about where we want to go for a real vacation here in other threads...Hawaii, Greece, etc. But, if you could visit any "universe"...for example, the "Whedonverse", for a holiday, where would you want to go, and what would you do when you were there? What sites would you like to see, or what activities would you like to take part in? It's a given that all of us here at BB would like to visit Sunnydale, hang at the Bronze, visit Buffy's place, etc. So, what other milieux (is that the right word??) would you like to see?

I'd like to spend some time at Hogwarts. I just reread "Order of the Phoenix", and I'd really like to take in a Quidditch game, go to the Room of Requirements, see the Whomping Willow, and generally hang around the grounds...and eat, eat, eat! They're always having such yummy sounding meals...***checks watch*** oh...lunchtime!!!

I'd also put some time in for Dune/Arrakis, Hobbiton, and Winterfell (from "A Game of Thrones" by George RR Martin).

I think maybe Troy (Iliad Troy, not Brad Pitt Troy) .

I'd like to sit up on the battlements in a lawn chair, under a beach umbrella, with a cooler of beer and a big bag of popcorn, watching the battle. 🙂 This would be me watching ::nono::

hm. i don't have a good answer. not that i ever do. dun mind me. i just feel like i should be more profound, like i should actually be able to think for once. anyway.

any place any time hm.....I read this book once, "Jovah's Angels" I don't remember the writer but...good book. There were angels, pretty angels that sang, and peace and....I'd love to visit there. Unassuming peaceful pretty bunch. and feathery winged people.
i think wings are pretty. and...hm...I just really liked the book. And the angel on the cover was real pretty...and....well...rambling again but...

oh lyra's world. from Phillip Pullmans His Dark Matters Trilogy. id love to see my daemon. ...other than that...im not sure but.....

Huh? Why not Brad Pitt troy? I'd go there! If I got to sleep in his quarters! 😀

I'd go to LothLorien or Rivendell. I love sightseeing. And these are 2 beautiful places!

I think I'd also like the Shire before all the warry stuff happened KD. Raisa (spelling Trekkers?) also sounds like it might be fun or the Enterprise holodecks...

I'd go to the realm of the X-Files. So not much another universe as some of the other suggestions, but I'd love to see Mulder's apartment, Skinner's office, The Lone Gunmen's lair. That, or the Friends gang. Chillin' at Central Perk...

So clear it would be the Whedonverse... 😉

I would probably want to be a slayer or something and kick some ass 😉 I mean I would do that for a vication if I was able to 😉 Buffy's got the best gig ever 😉

Definitly LoTR universe for me !!!

I'll go into Lothlórien! i'll like to visit the Shire as well & I'll go to Elronds' & Tom Bombadil, but I'd definitly settle in Lothlórien if I had to choose one.

I wanna rebook my vacation spot. It just struck me there might not be indoor plumbing at Troy. I mean I know the Romans had baths, but Thomas Crapper (yes, that really was his name) didn't invent the flushable toilet until much later.

I'm gonna rebook to Jurassic Park (providing they get those safety issues under control).

The Minoan civilisation on Crete had a primitive form of flushable toilets so you may strike lucky in Troy. I'm guessing the plumbing of Antiquity was only marginally worse than modern Greek plumbing anyway🙂
The Trojans in the recent film all looked pretty clean 😉

Well, LotR seems to be the consensus winner so far as most popular. I'm really surprised that with all the Harry Potter fans that more of us didn't pick Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, etc. But yeah, I'd wanna see Lorien too! And Minas Morgul, just to scare the beejeebers outta me...

I'd go and spend a vacation with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson. 😀 Get drunk, eat alot and drink some more! Oh, and make Maggie talk! 😛

Really? I liked the concept of a desert planet with gigantic worms...and I'd like to be trained in some of those techniques the Bene Gesserit learn...the Voice, etc.

Oh i forgot some: in lotr, love to go to Numenor(before it suck obviosly 😛 and Valinor..in harry potter liked to go to hogwarts (well thats a given..) and when i was 5 i wanted to go talk to the caracters in sesame street..now,not so mutch..😛

Well, I dare to be different so I'm gonna go with a place that most probably haven't heard of. I would go to Robert Jordan's world from the "Wheel of Time" series (maybe the person who mentioned George R.R. Martin might know this). BArring this location I would have to choose Hogwarts (but only if I could be a student again...lol).

You would win that bet my friend. I've read some of the "Wheel of Time" stuff but I am more familiar with the George Martin "Ice and Fire" stories (or is it "Fire and Ice? I can never remember) - though I wouldn't want to spend very long in Winterfell or on the Wall (to bloody cold for me - probably seems like a heatwave to you Canadian guys tho'😉)
When is Martin's next book out btw?
