The Fast and the Furious: The Role of Mia Was Originally Written for Which Actress? | Wetpaint, Inc.

I did not know this! Stumbled upon it while reading about the Fast and the Furious franchise -- apparently the role of Vin Diesel's sister and Paul Walker's love interest, Mia, was written for Eliza, but she turned it down. I wonder how her career would have turned out if she had taken it.

Wow I wonder if she regrets that decision? Her career could have taken off big time if she'd been part of that franchise. Although I have to admit I have never seen a F&F movie 🙄 It's not my sort of thing, and I guess it's not Eliza's either.

Also SMG auditioned for the role, which is even odder for me. I could imagine Eliza in films like this, but not SMG. 🙂

I saw the first one, a century or so ago, so I can't remember the part very well but I can easily picture Eliza in that kind of movie. Seems like it'd suit her. Wonder why she turned it down. Not sure it would've done miracles for her career though, it's not like Jordana Brewster is a household name.

Lucky Brewster by the way - who plays Mia - also got a part written for another Buffyverse girl. If my recall is correct then Delilah in "The Faculty" was actually offered/written for Charisma Carpenter who turned it down due to typecasting.

Selfishly, I'm glad it didn't happen because I would've been so conflicted by those films; I hate Vin Diesel/But I love Eliza/But I hate Vin Diesel/But I love Eliza/-so on.

It would've been like one of those clever logic problems that defeat B-movie super computers- my brain would've shut down!

I wish she had taken it! More movies for me to watch her be sexy and kickass in would be awesome!! I haven't seen them, so no clue if I would like them, but it doesn't matter because I have sought out literally ANY crappy movie that she's been in. It's a sickness. She would have been great in this type of role. I wonder why she turned it down? Plus to be completely honest Jordana Brewster kind of annoys me.

Admittedly I've not watched much of the F&F movies, but they're hardly well regarded movies. Eliza can do better.

As in critically? No matter what you think of the movies all in all they're a big success. I can enjoy the later ones as over the top no thinking needed enjoyment for 2 hours but not much more.

She's done some pretty crap movies on her own, at least she would make money from these. Michelle Rodriguez is pretty much a household name and I don't think anyone judges her for doing these movies.
