Again, hard question, but which episode of Angel is your absolute favorite? For me, it came down to I Will Remember You and A Hole in the World. If I have to choose just one, it would probably be A Hole in the World. Not only was it the most heartbreaking episode of Angel, but it marks the death of Fred and the birth of Illyria. Also, I think the scenes of Wesley and Fred in her bedroom as Fred is dying are probably the most moving pieces of television I have ever seen. Disagree if you want, but this episode just gets me every time.

I dislike 'I Will Remember You'. Mostly because Buffy irritates the hell out of me. But also - going back in time - that's such an old trick. Somehow I can't believe that even the PTB can pull off such a stunt.

I'd have to go with Not Fade Away as my fave episode. So many great moments in the one episodes, from Illyria's 'Shall I lie to you?' speech to Lindsey's death scene. I think I've watched it 7 times now, which'd be my record. A painfully brilliant end to the series.

Hmm...I liked Smile Time a lot. Other than that I can't remember specific episodes as far as favorite moments are concerned...as a whole I LOVED season four and I don't know if I could pick a favorite episode out of it, I loved them all.

I didn't really like "I Will Remember You".

I don't like to label myself as a 'Bangel' or a 'Cangel' or what ever with who ever cause i really believe every relationship has a time and place in Buffy and Angel, but the episode 'I will remember you' was, for me, the 'death' of 'Bangel'. It just felt forced, it felt wrong. It was just, in my mind, a way to get Buffy onto the show, set up the true extent of Buffy and Angels past and then allow him as a character to progress.
It was clever in what it was supposed to do, but honestly, i found it completely hokey.

On the main topic, I've not got a specific fave cause every time I think of 1, another three pop into my head as being on par or better.

A hole in the world, as said was for me one of the most moving episodes of all time. I found Amy Ackers performance to be incredible. Also I forget the name but the episode where wesley gets his throat cut was brilliant for the sheer shock factor. I thought it was his death!

But as a favourite episode...I gotta say I cant choose a single episode. But any with Faith would definately be up there consistently in my ever changing fav episode list.

I find it hard to choose one episode of Angel, I think more about arcs than episodes with this show for some reason, at least with the 4 first seasons.. I must say A Hole in the World, I really love Amy and she did such an amazing job there. Wesley/Fred is one of my favorite couples ever, and seeing them together even in this very very sad situation is just so beautiful.

I know what you mean about thinking about arcs instead of individual eps.
It's hard to pick a favorite episode but if I were to say which ones I watch the most, it would be You're Welcome and Spin the Bottle. You're Welcome is great because that's when Cordy finally came back and helped put Angel back on his path. At first I thought they weren't gonna have Charisma come back so I was so happy when she did come back for the 100th episode. Spin the Bottle is great too. I love seeing the teenage versions of AI.

Spin the Bottle for me. I love seeing everyone's younger selves, and Fred as a pothead was also a high point. Pretty damn good episode, if you ask me. 😀

I think 'a hoe in the world' might possibly be the worst episode, of any tv show, ever, ever. 'I will remember you' is not too far behind.

The dialogue is so cheesy, overwrought, melodramatic dribble.

and Fred as a pothead was also a high point.
For her as well.

Presuming that you mean 'a hole in the world' (I certainly don't remember 'a hoe in the world'), I don't think it was overwrought at all. Unlike a lot of similar death episodes in other shows, there had been no build up to Fred'd death. It was very sudden and for me that made it especially hard to watch.

I do agree about 'I will remember you' though. It fell in the trap of letting emotion overtake any kind of realistic plot (time travel? no!).

That death scene...at times, I thought it seemed kind of "operatic", "Shakespearean""”like Joss was really swinging for the fences with the drama. Not everyone's cup o tea apparently. But there was quiet, subtle stuff there too, with Fred and Wes. I dunno. I fell for it. I'm a sap I guess.

i really liked " i will remeber you" but my favorite episode was definitely " You're welcome"... the last part when cordy says goodbye to angel was very very beautiful.

Either, 'You're Welcome', or 'Smile Time'. Smile Time, purely for the entertainment. It was freaking hilarious!
