Favorite Angel Season

best season of angel?

I've just finished watching the whole season.. can I just say it is so well put together... and I think the later seasons of angel kinda lost the plot. This season has such a clear message and the development of Angel as a leading character coming from buffy is so well done!
I've declared it my favorite Angel season... what do you think?

I voted for Season 2 on top. I liked the whole story arc between Darla, Drusilla, Lindsey, Lilah and Angel being dark. There was no Fred/Gunn relationship.

Season 1 was good - Faith was in it. Doyle was in it for 9 episodes. Wes being tortured.

Season 4 - still hated the whole Fred/Gunn relationship. They were boring as hell. I did like the whole Wes/Lilah relationship. They were a hell of a lot more interesting and entertaining than Fred/Gunn any day. I liked the dark Wesley character.

Season 5 - They had some good episodes and not great ones. Knox was a boring character that was added in there. Terrible idea. WES/FRED FINALLY hooks up but it was too short. Toward at the end, it just seems some of the stories were rushed or just didn't belong.

Season 3 - was alright. It started off pretty good then it died when Fred/Gunn started to have a relationship. I never like the whole idea of Fred/Gunn pairing off. Hated it. They had no chemistry at all and took way too long for it too end. Gunn was just a roadblock between WES and FRED. If Fred/Gunn weren't involved and had WES/FRED together instead, I would have a hard time choosing either season 2-5 on top.
