Yes, what a great way to end the show called Buffy - with someone else saving the world and basically saving Buffy from her suicidally stupid plan. It is epic, all right. Epic fail. YMMV and all that.

I think it was a great way to end the show, with everyone who could be a slayer, becoming a slayer... and Buffy's plan wasn't suicidally stupid. Did you see another option? It was made obvious to the viewer in the first episode the show was called Buffy and was about Buffy... but it was about a lot more than just her.

I agree with this 100%. I think it was about Buffy but about so much more. So the way it ended was great to me. I don't think it was an epic fail by far 😉

It's always a tough decision for me when it comes to the finales. But the ending scene of Becoming Part II is just too special for me to forget.

1- Becoming Part II
2- Restless
3- The Gift
4- Graduation Day Part II
5- Chosen
6- Grave
7- Prophecy Girl

I think it was great. It was a nice way to wrap up the series... with Spike being the champion and a hero.

Agreed 🙂 And while Spike saved the world, there is no way he would have been in that position if it wasn't for Buffy. He fell in love with her, he got his soul for her, he fought for her and by her side, etc. He became a better man because of Buffy. In that sense, as I've always said, Buffy saved the world in "Chosen" as well because she believed in him not only as a man, but as her champion.

Yes, I did. Say using that thing called The Sun to burn some ubies. Or calling for Riley's help. Or the coven that made Giles strong enough to take on Dark Willow in S6. Anything but having Wolfram and Hart's bauble defeat the First's army and presenting it as some marvelous plan of Buffy's, never mind she didn't even know what the amulet was supposed to do exactly.

It was made obvious to the viewer in the first episode the show was called Buffy and was about Buffy... but it was about a lot more than just her.

I probably should have explained it better - I have nothing against the story focusing on characters other than Buffy. I actually like Willow, Xander and Giles a lot more than Buffy. But her being almost irrelevant to the fight in the last episode of the show doesn't sit well with me as much as I loathe S7 Buffy. And having two dei ex machina and still having two rely on the uber-vampires inexplicably being much weaker than shown before so that your protagonists would stand a chance is hack writing of epic proportions, IMO. Imagine if Becoming had ended with Xander (or any non-superpowered human) beating up Angel with ease - I mean if Anya can kill a uber-vamp...

The Gift, an amazing episode and season finale, and a better end if it turned out to be than Chosen.

1. The Gift
2. Grave
3. Graduation Day Part 2
4. Restless
5. Becoming Part 2
6. Prophecy Girl
7. Chosen

Ranking the top 5 isn't easy. I'm chuffed to see Grave doing pretty well in this vote.

7. Grave
6. The Gift
5. Prophecy Girl
4. Becoming Part 2
3. Graduation Day Part 2
2. Chosen
1. Restless

The Gift and Becoming are ranked the same for me, as the best finale episodes. I really couldn't decide which one is best. They're both... Buffy. You know what I mean? They show the beauty and the intesity that is Buffy. Also, they're 2 of my favorite episodes overall. In the end I voted The Gift, but so you know, I love Becoming just the same.
I like least Prophecy Girl, because the season itself is not so big with me. I'm sure that if the idea of this episode was at another point of the series - in later seasons, maybe it will rank higher.

The Gift
Prophecy Girl
Chosen
Becoming
Graduation Day
Grave
Restless

Must say though that I enjoyed every single season finale, all classics 😀

Grave and The Gift are top 2. Graduation Day and Chosen are purely EPIC! I love the Restless episode but not so much as a finale.

Graduation Day is tops for me, because it was the end to my favorite era of the series, and offered a great little farewell moment with Angel walking away among the chaos of Faith and Mayor Snake, Cordelia staking her first vampire, and Snyder suffering the same fate as his predecessor. The whole thing felt like its own series finale and in a sense it was, given season 4 was sort of a whole new beginning for the show.

1.Chosen
2.The Gift
3.Becomeing part 1
4.Grave
5.Graduation day part 2
6.Prophecy Girl
7.Restless

I wanna add there is not one season finale that was not good. They all were amazing in their own way.
