Who's your favorite character from each season?

I'll just do Buffy, since I'm still undecided about a few Angel seasons.

Season 1: Xander. He was just the cute, funny, normal guy with a hopeless crush.
Season 2: Willow. This was when we first started to see her development from shy, quiet nerd into a "truck-driving magic mama," and she was great.
Season 3: Willow. She was fabulous in this season! She was just starting to get serious about magic, and she had so many great lines. Plus, who doesn't love Vamp Willow?
Season 4: Spike. This was Spike's best season ever. He wasn't quite housebroken yet, but he had the chip, so he was sort of forced to become an ally to the Scoobies. Was there a single scene he didn't steal?
Season 5: Tara. This was when Willow and Tara's relationship was at its peak, and thus, there was lots of Tara. Plus, even though she didn't develop as much as she did in season 6, she went through some huge changes and definitely broke out of her shell. When Glory sucked the sanity out of her, it was absolutely heartbreaking, and Amber Benson portrayed both "Normal Tara" and "Crazy Tara" so well!
Season 6: Willow. This was, without a doubt, Willow's season. Her magic addiction started, Tara left her, and, of course, Dark Willow!
Season 7: Andrew. I would have said Willow, but I'm biased and put her 3 times already, so yeah...I'll go with Andrew. I admit, Andrew was sort of a useless character, but that's what made you love him so much! Hearing him freak out about Faith stealing his hot pocket, making the "big board," writing Anya's speech to the Potentials out (when he misspells 'stake' and writes 'makeup sex'), him randomly yelling "I have swimmer's ear!" when the ubervamps go to fight him...they're all some of the most memorable parts of season 7, and he provided much-needed comic relief.

Anyone else?

good idea
Season 1: Giles. I love Giles. Especially season 1, when he's at his most 'english', his most stuffy and tweed-like and altogether so in contrast with the rest of the cast. It's brilliant.

Season 2: Spike and Dru. I know we can only pick one, but they come as a package, and I don't think one without the other would work anywhere near as well as they did. They're evil, dark, dangerous and oh so very sexy.

Season 3: Faith. I loved how they introduced a new slayer then made her the anti-Buffy... Buffy is so good and righteous that I love seeing how Buffy could have turned out if things were different- its so reflected in Faith. I always seem to favour the darker characters.

Season 4: Spike.. the whole neutered thing... while in some aspects it didn't quite fit (as in, they accepted him too quickly. i'd have chucked him into the sun and let him burn to be honest) i think season 4 was Spike at his best.., witty, yet still evil... only falling short of being real evil because its hard to take anything seriously when it can't do the thing it keeps threatening to do.

Season 5: Anya.. she cracks me up, the way she talks and I think in season 5 she's totally at her best and most inappropriate... Triangle in particular was a great episode for her, with the return of Olaf and her arguement with Willow.

Season 6: Willow.. the whole magic abuse thing and dark Willow was really good- Alyson Hannigan is a total star in this season.

Season 7: I'm torn between two people here. Buffy herself... I think the character has had an amazing journey throughout all the seasons, but this is the really standout one where you realise what she's become- a an adult, a strongminded woman, and a strong and independant leader.
Also, Andrew, because he definitely lifted the tone in so many ways... one of my favourite things about him being when he confused the volcanologist for a vulcan in Storyteller... that whole episode was great.

ok....hmmm....

Season 1: Id agree with Xander. And i was 11, and i totally had a crush on him. i did!!

Season 2: Spike. He was frickin' awesome, i was captivated by him. So evil and yet so damn likeable.

Season 3: Giles. He really showed his love for buffy, became the badass, and earned a ton of cool points.

Season 4: Willow. She was getting so strong and confident at this point, she was truly evolving and i thought it just made her awesome.

Season 5:I think im going to have to go with Xander again. He was just becoming so mature, finding his place in the world, and was SO good to Dawn, even if buffy (and every viewer) hated her haha.

Season 6: Andrew. I totally fell in love with his character, he ALWAYS had me laughing. Just the trio as a whole, i loved them!

Season 7: Robin Wood. Yeah yeah, most of the lot of you dislike him. But i was finding the core 4 a little... boring. The pontentials were annoying. Andrew was great again but i don't want to vote for him 2 seasons in a row lol. I thought Wood was interesting, he mixed things up. and i thought he was hot and that helps lol.

This is really hard for me, as most seasons I don't have a particular favorite. I just really love certain characters at certain points of the season- but even then it's more than one person.

I think it was only season 6 and 7 where I had a definitive 'they are my favorite' moment.

And that was Anya in season 6. She went through so many emotions and experiences in this season. One minute she was comic relief, the next she was the only character getting down to the nitty gritty stuff. This was the character's whose story I followed directly in the season. I had always loved Anya, but I loved her especially in season 6.

And in season 7 it was Dawn. Except for that moment of throwing Buffy out, I loved her to bits. More than I had done previously. She has the uber love this season. She was the youngest in the group, but ironically seemed the most mature. And I love seeing more of her in High School; it added a new layer to her. And her role as replacement Watcher (Or Watcher Junior when Giles returned). She was just a fabulous character in particular this season.

Dawn definitely did get a lot better in season 7. And Anya was my second choice for season 6, since your heart broke with hers after Xander left her at the altar.

Hello Cutie
I was in shock when I read Dawn, but you're right, she's far less annoying in season7- infact she's a very good 'watcher junior' and very funny at times... thank god she grew up!
Well...let me think...

Season 1 - Angel... (I was young! It was a thing! 😉) Anyhow, tall, dark, hot and mysterious. And then he turns out to be a vamp with a soul and still mysterious and such....oh I was in lurve.....

Season 2 - Spike.... Loved how he could be such a bad ass and yet so caring of Dru. Just opened my eyes completely up to how much I could like villians without really trying....but heck, they had to have the charisma to do it. Oh and the blue eyes....bless those blue eyes 😉

Season 3 - Oz.... I liked him in season 2, but he really came ahead in season 3 for me. I don't know...he was just so sweet and just so calm and cool and in my opinion, just oozed self confidence without being arrogant.

Season 4 - Willow...she just really came into her own for me. Growing in powers, straying away from the group. Recruiting new scoobies. Less of the backup and more formidable while still having the insecurities she has so she was just great.

Season 5 - Buffy... to me, this was the season where Buffy finally got what being the chosen one was about. In that self sacrificing way. She understood what it meant on a much deeper level. Even if the reason she got it was because of Dawn.

Season 6 - Tara... maybe I just like to see growth in a person, but I really liked her in this season because she came into her own and stopped following Willow. And sure, she went back to following Willow and then died and such, but she just grew.

Season 7 - Andrew.... he was just a great "guestage" 😉. Or Giles for the simple line "So you think I'm evil for taking a bunch of girls into the desert and didn't touch them?" or something to that effect.

Well since I don't want to totaly annoy you, I will not put it by season.
Seven seasons of Buffy and my favorite is Buffy in each season.

I agree. I mean even when I always like other characters, Buffy is always there in the background, being liked in a constant sorta way :)
Season 1: Giles
Season 2: Giles
Season 3: Spike.
Season 4: Willow
Season 5: Buffy
Season 6: Willow
Season 7: Andrew
Season 8: nobody as yet.

1: Buffy
2: Oz
3: Faith
4: Willow
5: Tara
6: Anya
7: Andrew/Xander/Dawn
8: I've taken a liking to Satsu, for some reason...

And, onto Angel:
1: Haven't seen it yet.
2: Cordy/Darla
3: Fred
4: Connor
5: Fred/Connor

Season 1:Cordy..she was so mean and funny😛
Season 2:Giles we get to see his Ripper side and I love how he grieves over Jenny..
Season 3:Faith I'm a Faith fan so...
Season 4:Anya She is hilarious as she tries to fit in her new world...
Season 5:Willow She gets in touch with her tremendous powers and also I love her in all seasons so..
Season 6:Xander In this season he is the glue that keeps the scoobies together..
Season 7:Spike he gave everything for his love and he comes back not asking for anything just wanting to help and in the finale he always breaks my heart in a manly way(as Robin Wood would say..😛)

I'd like to add that I love all the characters of the show especially the ones mentioned before, but in each season one made a difference IMO...

oh wow this is hard!

season 1: I have two couldnt help it.

Cordy- I loved to hate her! and Xander! I loved how he pined for buffy. How he was always trying to be her hero even though she was the slayer because he "loved" her. His crush and his "normalcy" we just so adorable!

Season 2: Angel! Before this season he was just kinda a lurker...and it was kinda weird but in this season we got to learn more about Angel and get to see the love story between him and Buffy. BANGLE!!!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!

Season 3: Faith! she was def a 5x5 charcter in my book 🙂

season 4: Oz. I know he left in the begining but I really enjoyed him this season...and even while he was gone only a few short episodes in, it set the path for an even more powerful willow!

Season 5: Again I have two. Buffy and Glory!

Glory is my favorite big bad! I loved loved loved her! and Buffy well lets see she just well this season I really fell for Buffy! This season was brilliant for her!

Season 6: Willow I felt like Willow became so much more than just sidekick Willow this season. She was a contender and she knew it. I could never claim Tara as one of my favorite characters but I loved the relationship between the two. I think they portrayed it beautifully and the characters had a geniune love for one another. I think Willow really shined brightly this season 🙂

Season 7: Dawn without a doubt she was my choice for outstanding character in Season 7. Closely followed by Spike! 🙂

This is what I get with being limited to 1 character per season in choice:

Season 1: Buffy,
Season 2: Dru,
Season 3: Amy,
Season 4: Willow,
Season 5: Willow,
Season 6: Willow,
Season 7: This time Willow a bit dissapointed me, so I'd stick to Buffy.

In addition, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Oz, Amy, Ethan, Giles are one bunch of the favorites.

Season 1- Xander. he really was cute in this season🙂
Season 2- Angel. This really was angel's season. David is so talented at playing Angelus. god, it makes me shiver!
Season 3- Faith. I think faith is just the coolest character. Totally a five by five
Season 4- Spike. he had the best lines in s 4 by far!
Season 5- Buffy and Tara. This was def. Buffy's best season. she had so much more interesting things happening in her life. Tara was also really sweet. I loved her in this season!
Season 6- Willow! Black Willow is just too cool!🙂 and Willow is my fave character anyway!
Season 7- Willow. She's so funny and sweet in this season. She has really cute lines and she's really grown as a person since s.1!

Season 1- Buffy
Season 2- Spike/Oz/Xander
Season 3- Oz/Spike
Season 4- Oz/Anya
Season 5- Anya
Season 6- Anya
Season 7- Anya

Season 1 - Willow. I didn't particularly like any of the characters in this season but I'll choose Willow cause of cuteness!
Season 2 - Buffy. In the latter parts of the season anyway. She was still kinda season 1 Buffy to start with but she changed a lot in this season.
Season 3 - It's a tie between Faith and Cordy.. But I'll go with Faith cause well, what would Season 3 be without Faith?!
Season 4 - Spike. I really didn't like this season and I guess Spike was the only part I did like!
Season 5 - Anya. She was hilarious in this season.
Season 6 - Definitely Willow, cause again, she changed a lot in this season and Dark Willow is one of my favourite ever characters.
Season 7 - Faith.. Or Spike. I dunno, I loved both!

BtVS
Season 1: Buffy. She's brave, funny, and interesting in the first 4 seasons.
Season 2: Buffy/Angel. Loved Angels development in this season.. the Bangel and Angelus.
Season 3: Buffy/Xander. Xander just rocks in this season.. he does always, but he's funny and confused.. love the goofy.
Season 4: Buffy
Season 5: Willow. Started to like her more as she figured out who she was.. all the magicks and story arcs she had were always true and interesting.
Season 6: Willow. The dark Willow arc redeemed the series for me.
Season 7: Willow. Nice redemption arc again.. although didn't love Kennedy.

For Angel
Season 1: Cordelia. Funny and good development.
Season 2: Wesley. Funny.. funny.. falling.
Season 3: Wesley. Still funny.. but then brave, and DARK..hot stubble!
Season 4: Wesley/Faith. Love Faith's redemption thingyme with Angel, highlight of the season.
Season 5: Wesley/Spike. Spike is priceless for season 5, awesome addition for some sexual maybe tension and rivalry with Angel 😛

For Angel:

Season 1: Cordelia
Season 2: Wesley-he was so funny and klutzy
Season 3: Wesley. He went so dark...he's the one Angel character who was most elvovled
Season 4: Lorne. He became a series regular, and I just love him
Season 5: Wesley and Lorne.

Season 1: Buffy and Xander.. Buffy is starting off with the whole slayer thing and they did a very good job at showing that. And Xander, he's just Xander and I used to have a huge crush on him
Season 2: Angel.. I really liked his development through this season, beeing good, beeing bad, beeing in between. I really loved that
Season 3: Faith.. Just because it's Faith and I love her!
Season 4: Spike.. He was so damn funny, with the chip in his head and trying everything he could to get Buffy killed or maimed or whatever and it just didn't worked out for him. I love that
Season 5: Dawn and Tara.. I just loved how they introduced Dawn, it was really funny how she and Buffy didn't got along at first. And Tara, I specialy loved Tara in Family because it showed who she really was.
Season 6: Willow.. The end of this season are for me one of the most wonderfull and powerfull episodes because Willow goes so deep. I loved the acting, it was all amazing and Willow was the maincharacter in that
Season 7: Buffy, Spike and Faith.. I couldn't chose between those, Buffy has come such a long way. And to see how powerfull she was at the end of S7 was amazing. With that I loved her thing with Spike. Coming to Spike, he totaly stole my heart in the last few episodes, with the speech for buffy and sacreficing himself for everyone else. And Faith, I loved how they made her come back and how she tried to be really grown up and showed what she had learned from her mistakes. But still with the edgy wild girl at some points.

1 - Xander, Xander, Xander! He was so much like my best friend, it's crazy. And I loved Giles, too, but Xander was my number one.
2 - I have two - Xander, because, again, he reminded me of my best friend, and that swimsuit scene...mmm! And I loved Spike, too, because his badass sexiness was amazing. He and Dru were the best.
3 - Willow. I've always loved "Fuzzy Willow", and Doppelgangland was amazing! And again, I loved Xander all through his high school years.
4 - Spike. I preferred him in S2, but he was great in this season, too. And besides, this was when Xander started to go downhill...but I loved Anya in this season, too.
5 - Willow and Tara. They were a new couple, but it was where you saw Willow "finding herself". And Tara was like her second half. I would have said Glory, though, but her acting was so awful that I was distracted from how good of a villain she WOULD be if they'd chosen someone who could actually act.
6 - Willow. Evil Willow was amazing.
7 - Andrew! The potentials were awful, and Andrew was the only one who brought some relief to their constant annoying-ness.
8 - Xander, no question. But I love Andrew, too, even though he's barely in it - "Hey, Buffy. Hey, Naked Asian Girl."
