So I just got back from finally seeing XMEN First Class and loved it. I even liked it better than Iron Man. I'm not a comic book reader and my main exposure has been through Joss, movies and cartoons. I've read Joss' X-Men and some of the later year X-Men comic books and that's about it. I enjoy comic books but they are more expensive than I care to invest in (part of the reason I'm behind on the Buffy comics).

I'm curious what your favorite comic book superheroes are and what are your favorite comic book superhero movies?

I like X-Men 2 and First Class though I thought the other X Men movies were a little boring.

I liked Batman Begins and Dark Knight even though I don't care for Christian Bale.

I enjoyed both Iron Man movies and am looking forward to avengers.

I hated the new Superman. I thought it was painfully boring but I've never cared for the concept of Superman or anything to do with him really.

I can't stand Ryan Rynolds so I doubt I'll see Green Lantern.

I thought the Spiderman movies were alright though I would not have cast Toby Mcguire.

I was really bored with the Fantastic Four movies.

I know I'm missing a lot but those are the only ones I can think of right now.

Oh, we're big superhero & superhero movie fans here at my house.

I liked the original Superman movie. I mean, Christopher reeve, c'mon! I have to say that I do like the new one, although not as much as the old ones. I like Lois in the new one, though, can't stand what's-her-name in the old ones. She screams way too much (pet peeve of mine about female actresses, Indiana Jones was on TV today, and it's the one thing I hate about those movies).

I am a big X-Men fan (read the comics growing up), but I was disappointed in the movies, especially in the telling of the Jean Gray/Phoenix storyline. Haven't seen X-Men First Class yet. I thought Origins: Wolverine was better than the X-Men trilogy.

Wasn't impressed by Fantastic Four. Not even sure I watched all of them (didn't see them in the theater).

I liked the latest Incredible Hulk movie, the one with Edward Norton. It's a shame he's not going to be in the Avengers. I grew up with the TV series with Bill Bixby- loved it!!!

My 4 year old is a huuuuuge SpiderMan fan, so we own all 3 movies and I have them memorized LOL. I do like Toby Maguire as SpiderMan. SpiderMan 2 with Doc Occ is probably my favorite. We're kinda unsure about the new SpiderMan movies coming up, but I'm sure we will see them.

Like Iron Man (love RDJ!!). Didn't care for IronMan 2. Hope Iron Man 3 returns to the quality of the first one.

We saw both Thor & Green Lantern lately. I liked Thor better, although I can't wait for Netflix to have the animated Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. Nathan Fillion voices Hal Jordan, aack!!

We're looking forward to Captain America. I think I will like that one even better than Thor. And of course looking forward to The Avengers. My kids have it ingrained in their heads that "Joss Whedon is writing and directing it" because I've told them that so many times LOL.

I wish there were more movies about female superheroes. It's been awhile since I've seen either Catwoman or Elektra, I guess I need to rewatch those and evaluate them. I grew up with Wonder Woman- what did they ever decide on a TV show?

Woo. Ok.

Loved the first Batman movie. Love Keaton. Can't help it. He's awesome. Liked the newer once but Christian Bale . . . eegh.

Loved the original Superman movie. . . I met Margot Kidder once.

I liked the first and second Spider-man movies but not the third.

Loved first Iron Man. Liked the second.

Loved the Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton.

Liked Thor.

Actually . . . didn't dig on the X-men movies all that much but I do really want to see First Class.

Am SUPER looking forward to Captain America.

Does Mr Incredible count? Night Owl and Scarlet Specter? If I have to have favorite superheroes, I would pick them simply because they aren't the superheroes that I grew up with, and Hollywood ruined so badly.

Yeah I wasn't just curious about movies only, I was curious about comic books themselves. I just can't comment on the comic books myself since I have such limited knowledge of them.

Yeah, I saw X-Men: First Class last weekend and liked it a lot, which was a big surprise - as soon as I heard about it and the bizarre character choices they were making, I expected it to be a disaster (especially considering how awful the Wolverine movie was), but they really pulled it off. It was fun and endearingly cheesy, but still didn't necessarily feel like a guilty pleasure movie. Also, as long as we're on the topic of newer Marvel movies, I really enjoyed Iron Man and Thor (although Iron Man 2 left me a bit cold) and I'm pretty excited for Captain America and The Avengers.

Obviously I loved Christopher Nolan's Batman movies - Batman Begins was good and The Dark Knight was excellent. I'll admit to being a little apprehensive about the third movie, though. It feels like Christopher Nolan is rushing through it to pay Warner Bros. back for giving him the big budget he needed to make Inception. Oh well, at least I get to see Catwoman (though the fact that they decided to cast a white guy as Bane leaves a bad taste in my mouth).

I've also loved a lot of the DC animated stuff. Obviously I loved Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League/JLU, but they've been putting out some damn good movies as well - Justice League: The New Frontier, JL: Crisis on Two Earths, All-Star Superman, and Wonder Woman were a lot of fun. Too bad I've sort of decided to boycott them because they're not making any more movies based on female characters even though Wonder Woman was one of the best-received DCAU movies and made more money than the first Green Lantern animated movie, which somehow got a sequel. But I digress.

Oh, and let's not forget non-superhero comic book movies, I'm a big fan of Ghost World, Scott Pilgrim, Road to Perdition, American Splendor, and A History of Violence. I also hear they're making a movie out of Y: The Last Man, so that has the potential to become one of the best or worst comic book movies of all time.

I don't nor have I ever read comics about superheroes so I couldn't care less if the movie adaptation stays true to the comics or not.
My favorite superhero movies are the first 2 Spider-Man movies, the third was really disapponting, it wasn't nearly as good as others. I'm a little excited about the next one that's coming.

I like The Green Hornet with Seth Rogen, it was fun, the action was good and it had the Jew hunter, that's win.

I also really like Watchmen. I mean, it had some flaws, like the soundtrack that felt way out of place and except for Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Matthew Goode the whole cast could've been replaced. BUT this movie was visually amazing and the opening credits alone is better than most of what I've ever seen in any movie.

Batman Returns is a favorite of mine, Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman was awesome! the newer Batman movies are fine, but I don't love them.

I've always been big on spider man and the incredible hulk for some reason.

I saw the most recent x men movie too and loved it a lot!

I can't say I'm a big fan of comic books, or comic book superhero movies for that matter. But I've personally enjoyed X-Men 2, Spider-Man 1&2, Ironman and The Dark Knight(mostly 'cause of Heath Ledger, 'cause I don't like Batman generally).

are they going to do a wonder woman movie? last I heard was all the hoopla (funny word) about megan fox saying she was lame...but is that still happening, cause that could be cool.
🙂

Don't forget Dylan Dog: Dead of Night. Horrible, horrible movie. We walked out halfway through. I've heard the comics are great though, but I've never read them so I dunno.

I have no idea, I thought they were talking more on the lines of a TV show.

In no particular order, my favorites are:

1. The Dark Knight
2. Batman (1989)
3. Superman: The Movie
4. Iron Man
5. Spider-Man 2
