I just love Xander's dream because I think it says some about his personality. Like when all the others started to talk french or whatever it was and he didn't understand... I actually wasn't such a huge Xander fan before I saw his dream... After his dream I liked him more... And besides, his dream made me laugh a few times as well 😉

She became the kind of leader she hated. Buffy's message by S7 - Some people are just Right. Do what they say - bothered me a little.

Hence she deserved to get kicked out of her own home, but that's another discussion.

I preferred Willow's dream, because I could relate to it. There were so many elements in it that can be found in my dreams. Like the play that doesn't resemble the real thing, the slightly twisted mundane. She's late for school, but school's not quite the way it usually is. And from a cinematic perspective I loved the feel and look of her dream, the colours and the light and the kind of slow, but at the same time stressed pace.

i voted for buffy's. it's hard to choose, but i think buffy's was really the most intense and most complex, in my opinion. it's the hardest to analyze for me and i still don't know the meaning to some things (or so it seems). besides, like i said - character and story wise her dream contained, in my opinion, the most intense scenes and metaphores.

Hard to choose in this one, but I had to go with my favorite character, Willow. Loved the scene where she writes on Tara's back, loved the drama class fear and most of all loved seeing Willow Year One. She looked so dang cute.

I voted for Giles' dream...

I liked the empty baby stroller that Olivia was pushing, it was a great thought for me, to think that even Giles will never lead a normal life because he is a Wathcer... his life is effected just like Buffy's.

Also, how can you not like Anya's duck joke and the Exposition Song?

Getting to see Adam as he was when he was human was cool. But Willow having to sing on stage had me laughing to the point of tears.

I voted Xanders... I was a bit confused that they put Restless after such an ending as The Gift... I guess the point of that excapes me... But I went for humor in the dreams... And his face when Willow and Tara are "making out" in the back is priceless... As well as Anya's "gesturing emphatically". Loved it!!

(But I also loved Willows... Mainly because I being a drama student, found the humor behind her "And why is there a cowboy in Death of a Salesman anyway?")

Actually, 'Restless' was the season finale for the fourth season, while 'The Gift' was the fifth season finale. Joss Whedon said in the episode commentary that the previous two seasons, they'd had slam-bang, two-part season finales and didn't want to repeat themselves. Also, after a season that saw the group fraction as badly as they had (at this point) bringing the four core characters back together seemed a good way to go.

Yea I realized my mistake after I got offline... I was watching the Gift as I was typing... Lack of sleep not a big helper... But yea... I guess that makes sense why he would put Restless there...

hard choice either Xander or Buffy?....Buffy i suppose i liked her dress too! :wilted_ro

hrrrrm.... very hard question, but i'll go w/ Buffy's dream. I like Xander's too, but still... buffy wins just because. :: wacko2

My favourite was Buffy's. I liked how she put the First Slayer in her place. She really knows how to make a good speech 😉

Buffys dream for me.. Really like the thing there with the first slayer in the desert.. "I walk. I talk. I shop, I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out. And I don't sleep on a bed of bones. Now give me back my friends." Some days that phrase just echoes in my head..

But I like all the dreams, this is defenitely an episode I can watch over and over again (well actually I can do that with most of the episodes...), there's always an other angle to analyze it from.

Giles' because it was the funniest especially this weird man saying that he wears cheese and cheese is wearing him and the lyrics of Giles' song......

Giles (singing): It's strange, it's not like anything we've faced before / It seems familiar somehow / Of course / The spell we cast with Buffy must have released some primal evil that's come back seeking / I'm not sure what / Willow, look through the chronicles for some reference to a warrior beast / I've got to warn Buffy / There's every chance she might be next / And Xander / help Willow / And try not to bleed on my couch / I've just had it steam-cleaned. No wait..

I liked parts of all of them - passing around the same worn-out urge, you MEN....with your SALES! - and Buffy's meeting Adam and Riley in the board room, taking over the world with toasters...or coffeemakers...or whatever it was. Adam's going to get pillows for the fort. I voted Xander's, tho....his really hit home after his aimlessness all season. I felt bad for him, he had no direction, no purpose. Willow's was scary to me, you could tell she hadn't entirely let go of the emotional trauma of HS (a touch of Whedon pathos there, I think!) and embraced the new person she was yet. Willow really re-invented herself in college, but she was still uncertain about her choices, something I can really relate to.
