Favorite friendships?

Willow/Xander, love their history and the depth of their bonds
Angel/Faith, their dynamic is so endearing and I love how they understand one another on a level others don't
Gunn/Wes (before the show effed it up), such a sweet and interesting friendship between two completely different people who really came to genuinely care about one another
Fred/Spike, I love that Fred never knew evil Spike and so he has a completely clean slate with her
Angel/Doyle, despite how short-lived it was, they really did grow close and were coming to understand and appreciate one another on a deeper level
Buffy/Willow/Xander, I love their initial dynamic and how natural and deep their friendship is
Angel/Cordy, loved their natural friendship and dynamic before the show tried to force the "romance" down our throats

I like the few times Cordie and Buffy interact with each other in season 3 before the break up. They are clearly not best friends, it's not even clear if they like each other, but they do seem to have an understanding.
 
1 - Xander & Willow - Just an unbreakable and long friendship since they were children, the scenes between W&X are just sweet (The replacement, Becoming, Grave, Empty Places).
2 - Angel & Fred - Just sweet, I love that Fred considers Angel as a Hero and has such admiration for him (AHITW, Hearthrob, Fredless)
3 - Buffy & Willow - Great friendship, Willow & Buffy confides in each other, talk about boys, secrets plus Willow restores Angel's soul for Buffy (Becoming, Choices, Same Time Same Place).
4 - Angel & Cordelia - I love them together in friendship, they help each other when they are not happy or not in a good mood (Judgement, That Vision Thing, Hearthrob, You' re Welcome, Billy).
5 - Xander & Buffy - A little tamed to me with Xander's betray about Angel in Becoming or his comments in S3 but this relationship has some great moments between them, in the end Buffy & Xander love each other (The Freshman, Seeing red, Dirty Girls, Graduation Day).
6 - Gunn & Wes - They are great together in ATS S2 (Epiphany, The Thin Dead Line).

Angel and Cordelia had the best, most realistic friendship on either show. The romance between them that appeared near the end was ok too, but I really loved their friendship.

I also liked Buffy and Xander once the latter moved on from his infatuation. They had some touching scenes together.

Wesley and Gunn is another one that seems to be quite underrated here. They were great until the writers had to go the predictable way and make them fight over Fred (that was stupid).

As a huge fan of Lorne, I have to mention Angel and Lorne too. It was less apparent in the last season, but these two were close in s2 and s3.

That's it for my favorites.

EDIT: I always hoped that Angel and Lindsey would team up for good. 😉 Oh, and I totally have to point out Willow and Xander. I forgot! They have some of the best friendship-related scenes.
