Favorite Funny Bit From all the Whedonverse

What's yours? I mean from all of it. From Giles little cartoon illustrations in Hush, to Cordelia's Bon Mots in Angel, to Zoe telling Mal to "Take me sir. Take me now", to Sugar Shock, to Joss Whedon after just delivering his Serenity Now speech on how tedious it was to be constantly asked the question "Why do you write such strong woman characters", then being asked the question by a fan with a camera the same question the following day, and replying with a smile on his face "To get laid".

What bit from the Whedonverse made you outright laugh out loud? Or at least what's the first one you think of?
 
The first one that I think of is from "Hush". It is when Xander asks about the Gentlemen "How do we kill them?" and Buffy makes a fist and jerks her arm up and down repeatedly. The gang looks at her strangely. She gets a stake out of her bag and repeats the motion, stake in hand (stake them). The gang finally gets it; and she gives them a weird look. I LMAO every time.
 
Season Three of Buffy, (Graduation Day Part One, I think) Angel's slipping as he enters the dead professor's apartment; Willow and Anya's bickering in Triangle is both adorable and hilarious ("I like money better than people. People can so rarely be exchanged for goods and/or services" .. "Xander, she's pretending to be me!"); "Out. For. A. Walk... Bitch!"; most things with Andrew.

When it comes to Angel the two that stand out in my mind are Wesley's pratfall in Spin the Bottle in Season Four - the funniest of it's kind I have ever seen, both how many knocks he takes during it and the way it is cut together, and Hole In The World where Spike and Angel have their astronaut/cavemen debate and Wesley's reaction to it.

Oh, and as I've just watched it I'll throw in Angel's reaction to Wesley saying "Fred..." in Smile Time - just before he turns to see her enter the room. Next time you watch that episode look out for it.

I'm sure there are others but I like being amused unexpectedly in the shows so I will leave it there.
 
most of my lol moments happen in Angel, and a lot of them involve Lorne, for some reason...at least, the ones i can of right now do.

Heabas Corpses, when Mesektet sends the gang back to the hotel just before the Beast kills her. Lorne's sitting on a couch drinking a Sea Breeze, and he looks at the gang, then stares at his drink, as if he's wondering how much he's had! lol

Home, when Lilah tells the gang that he people who followed Jasmine knew what they were getting into and Lorne yells 'Her stomach?!' lmao

Spin the Bottle, when Fred is staring at an unconscious Lorne, and he suddenly wakes up, turns to the camera and says something like 'I know I'm still unconscious at this part of the story, but can you believe these guys?'

i've also got one from S2 of Angel , when Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn are drowning their sorrows in Caritas after Angel fires them. Gunn says something about not taking orders and Cordy makes a really sarcastic comment like 'Mr. I don't take orders, now where do I stick my axe?" and it's made even funnier by the fact that Cordy's drunk and slightly slurring her words.

most of the Buffy ones i like involve Spike or Xander. i love any of Spike's line during 'Pangs' and Xander's 'What? How? What?' in 'Something Blue' Giles' reply 'Three very good questions' is hilarious too.

i've got more, but i can think of them right now. lol

Mine has to be Lilah from "Angel". I think it's in the season four finale...

LILAH: I don't think you'll want it, but you'll take it, because this is the offer of a lifetime. (beat) Just not, you know...mine.

Angel s3, FREDLESS: Buffy and Angel acted out by Cordy and Wes, favourite and funniest moment.
 
Buffy:

Hush has a couple already said, but I love the scene when Xander things Spike has just bitten Anya and after he 'saves' her she does the international sign language movements for sex.

The season 4 argument with Xander/Buffy/Willow when Giles, drunk, shouts 'Bloody Hell' from upstairs on Willows announcement that she is a gay woman.

Spike putting on an 'American' accent to fool the Initiative(Riley?)

Angel:

I want to so badly say 'Oh Mandy' but you want to know something, there is something funnier - 'Oh Jasmine'.

I love Cordelia in Pylea's 'Off with their heads'(infact pretty much every Cordelia scene in Pylea).

The entire episode of 'Disharmony'(inc the 'lesbian' scene, the 'new gang scene' and the 'Gunn fancies Harmony' scene) as it came just after a long run of being really dark - it was refreshing and Mercedes McNab was spot on.



I have more, but i'm working so can only do three each.

Cordy's Pylea scenes where indeed great.
i found another one.
i just finished watching 'When She Was Bad' the scene where the rock comes through the window with cordy's necklace and the note attached. something along the lines of:

Buffy: Come alone, or we make her a meal.

Xander (horrified): They're gonna cook her dinner?!

i was watching with my mom, who doesn't like the show, and even she found that funny.
 
This exchange never fails to crack me up............


WILLOW: "And besides, when is there any "us two?" You two are the two who are the two. I'm the other one!"

XANDER: "Uh-huh. But maybe that all changes when I'm doing sit-ups over at Fort Dix!"

GILES: "Fort Dix?" ***wheezy, high-pitched drunken laughter***

BUFFY: "Are you drunk??"

GILES: "Yes. Quite a bit, actually."

BUFFY: "Well, stop it!"



And this one's not so "laugh out loud" funny, but I always found it good for a vigorous chuckle at least........


OZ: "We should figure out what kinda deal this is. I mean, is it a gathering, a shindig or a hootenanny?"
CORDELIA: "What's the difference?"
OZ: "Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings....shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage....and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny."

Not really funny without the bits beforehand but in Lovers Walk, right at the very end, Spike in his car singing 'My Way' Sid Vicious style.
 
I thought Halloween was the funniest episode. I loved it. Cordy and Willow were so funny. Everyone had entertaining things to say.

Cordelia: Is Mr. I'm-the-lead-singer-I'm-so-great-I-don't-have-to-show- up-for-my-date-or-even-call gonna be there?
Oz: Yeah, y'know, he's just going by 'Devon' now.

Willow: "Okay, your name is Cordelia, you're not a cat, you're in high school, and we're your friends. Well, sort of."
Cordelia: "That's nice, Willow. And you went mental when?"
 
Funniest I think is from Doppelgangland when Willow walks into the library when they think she is dead, and Xander points the cross at her then shakes the cross and points it at her again LOL
 
hahaha the ep Life Serial in general from season 6. especially the 'WHAT THE F-' cut .. and the whole magic shop repeating sequence. smg handled that ep so wonderfully i could watch it forever.

also in Living Conditions in season 4.. at lunch
buffy: " i was SAVING YOU FROM-"
willow: "A MUGGER!"
buffy "... bear"

i love all the posts in this too. the illustrations from hush for sure, and HAHA the dopplegangland when alive willow went into the library. i loved the 'hey you guys didn't happen to take a whole bunch of drugs did ya!'
 
So many things...

Currently in my head that hasn't been mentioned yet would be Xander and Spike in Him...they're all serious about the plan and then the just run up and yank off his jacket....

The moment the girls realise they're checking out Xander in Go Fish...

Kaylee cocking the gun in Serenity after Simon said that he wished he'd had sex with her...

Smile Time in general...
 
geez, so many great hilarious moments, i don't know where to start... ok:

the end of "the puppet show" when buffy, xander and willow are acting out the scene from oedipus for the talent show. it's so funy when they're doing it, and then willow runs off stage...

in "homecoming" when buffy & cordy are in the cabin out in the woods, and cordy's looking for a weapon and finds a spatula. then when buffy asks her why she didn't use the phone, she like "no, because this is good for..." *waves spatula up & down* "oh."

at the end of gingerbread" when buffy stabs the demon through the throat with the stake she's tied to, and she's like "did i get it? did i get it?" and then xander & oz fall through the ceiling and go "we're here to save you." it's so funny!

in "checkpoint" when the council is doing the interviews of willow/tara & xander/anya, cutting back between the 2 couples. just everything they say is so funny: anya's like "anya christine emmanuella jenkins"... etc, giving her entire life story, then the guys like "now we can get to the questions." and willow and tara are getting asked about what their magical proficency level is and tara blurts out 5. haha! love it.

an "angel" funny moment i love is when spike and puppet angel are fighting out in the hall. i ROTFL every time!

man, i've got too many favorite funny moments. i'll have to come back later when i think of more...
 
has anyone watched the outtakes on 'Serenity'? i swear to god there are freaking hilarious!!

also, on DVD's of Angel S3, i think it might have been Amy Acker's Screentest, the scene where Wes and Gunn are under some sort of spell...anyone else wish that had been a real ep? lmfao
