I think I liked it most when Cordelia and Oz were also in the gang. In that moment of time it made it feel like the gang was all about business, and we didn't have to keep putting up with the unrequited love plots. It got annoying always seeing Willow fawn over Xander and Xander being jealous over Buffy. With this gang everyone was mostly paired up and happy and the group felt well balanced.

Also I enjoyed Cordelia's frankness and how she wasn't afraid to speak her mind.
 
Out of the choices in the poll I picked Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Cordelia, and Oz. If I could make my own list with characters from different stages of the show it would be Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Cordelia, Tara, Jenny and Riley. I wouldn't mind Dawn in the show either, just not in every episode as she ended up doing nothing in many of them.
 
The Core Four alone was the best. 🙂 I voted for Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles.
 
I liked Oz and Cordelia trying to help against the fight with demons. Remember this scene when Buffy is gone and the 4 try to fight allone against 2 vampires! Sweet. But all in all I think the pure core had something very nice too.

What about the whole Cordy/Xander/Willow/Oz thing? Loads of teen drama in that...




For me, it's a close race between "Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Spike, Anya, Dawn, and Tara" and "Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Cordelia, and Oz ", because even though all of them were closer in the earlier seasons (and Oz is awesome), I love Spike and Anya. I chose the former in the end. Core Four are a great combo too.
 
What about when Faith was in the group? Or Wood and Andrew?

Anyway I chose the Season 5 gang minus Riley.
 
I voted for Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Cordy and Oz. I loved the dynamic between all of them and their friendships seems stronger and more important to them.
 
I voted Buffy, Willow, Xander, and Giles, the core four.
I like their work in the early seasons best. Just feels right.
 
Great question - but I can't possibly vote. aha

Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Cordelia and Oz, to me, feels like the original Scoobies. I especially loved the beginning of season 3 when Buffy returns to find all of them out on the field helping with slaying.


Then the next time I got that same feeling for a "team/family" is Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Spike, Anya, Dawn, and Tara. Anya, obviously my favorite character, Spike & Tara all fit in well. It was like Buffy, Willow, Xander with Cordelia/Oz swapped with Anya/Tara. Aka Xander and Willow's first significant other to their most recent and mature relationship.

From memory it seemed like only a small part, where that dynamic broke apart in the scoobies before Oz and Willow got back together. Then Cordelia got the hots for Wesley and then Xander got a date with Anya to the prom. Perhaps I'm not remembering it correctly, but that love triangle didn't jar with me as much as the first season did with Xander and his jealous streak.
 
Original core four. When I think of the scooby gang, they are what comes to mind first. I never included significant others as a true part of the scooby gang though, despite being significant contributors to the plot. Dawn has as much place to me in the gang as Joyce. She is just Buffy's family and not a member of the gang to me, although it is nice that she was made to fight later.

Yeah I noticed that I left Angel out of that grouping and couldnt find a way to go back and edit it, but I meant to throw Angel in there :/
 
How funny, the two groups I struggled to choose between are the top two leaders. In the end I went with Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Spike, Anya, Dawn, and Tara 🙂
