Favorite Non Joss Fictional Characters

The thing I love most about Joss' writing and creations are definitely his characters and how he portrays human emotions and struggles. Few writers are able to live up to the standards he has set for me.

What are some non Joss fictional characters you feel connected to? They can be from books, movies, television, comic books etc.
 
Hmm. There was a character named Bran in a book called "Son of the Shadows" that I really loved. I think of him often.

Also feel a connection to Monica and Chandler from friends. Since they remind me of me and my husband. 😀

Glad to find another Drizzt fan :D
Only one I feel connected to is Chandler from friends actually, as I too am the sarcastic guy with the job no one understands among my group of friends.

Though I may think of more later.
 
The fictional character that I cherish the most is Drizzt. In my teens I was as much a fan of his books that I am of the Buffyverse now. More even... I had a deep link with the character growing up and he's imo, one of the most interesting fictional character ever created. Most people are turned off by the genre of literature he's part of, which is sad... Because they miss on a truly amazing character. Plenty of fans including me have been hoping for a movie(or even a trilogy) to be produced for freaking years... The first book date back to the 80's and the author still writes about the character as of today. At one point they were supposed to get a tv show running(a bit like Game of Thrones, for example), but it failed. The problem is that even though a bunch of his books have been in NY best sellers list, the format isn't as popular to the mass as Harry Potter or Twilight for example. It's darker and grittier.

I've gotten bunch of people into his books back then, and I'm just hoping that someday they will greenlight a movie. 🙂

Ah! Drizzt is awesome!
I love Fringe, and while I enjoy the characters of Olivia and Peter, I especially love Walter Bishop. Crazy scientist man who has done horrific things, yet you feel compassion toward him.

I often feel like Lois from Malcolm in the Middle. Sigh.
 
Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore fo sho.

I am so in love with them.

Also, Alan Shore and Denny Crane from Boston Legal. And Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Commander Riker from Next Gen and Odo and Kira from DS9 and Mr. Spock. And Gandalf.
 
I don't exactly feel any connection to anyone, I like characters cos they're either funny or just awesome. Right now my favorite non Joss fictional characters are Trudy Weigel and Severus Snape.
 
I always really liked spider-man! With his little quips when he fights... he's a lot like buffy!

and the incredible hulk... poor tortured soul...you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Some of my favorite characters from TV Shows are Lt. Randy Disher and Adrian Monk from Monk, Lily and Marhsall from How I Met Your Mother, Lt. Columbo from Columbo and Arthur Spooner from The King of Queens.

From Movies: Indiana Jones from the Indiana Jones movies, John McClane from Die Hard. Han Solo from the old Star Wars movies and Norman Bates from Psycho.

And my favorite characters from books are Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park and The Lost World and Jack Thorne from The Lost World.

Brooke Davis. She's one of those characters who make you grow up, emotionally, with them.

Meredith Grey. She's kinda my dark side. We share that.

Rachel Berry. We both share this crazy wish for success.

Pacey Witter. I always feel not good enough, and unworthy.. but when I have a cause to fight for, nothing can stop me.

Chandler Bing. I use humor as my defense mechanism too.

Luna Lovegood. I guess she's that weird part of me that no one understands.

Hermione Grenger. I'm kinda know it all, too.

hmm, I think I'll say Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls. She's pretty as hell (especially for her age), funny, really great to watch, she's very unique and lovable.

I think I am going to add Harry Dresden. I love him a little.

And I swear it's not just because James is reading the books to me!

It's because the character is all shy and terrible with women and ADORABLE. I like that in a character.

Plus he's a wizard. That kinda wins.

Oh! And there's a character called Tiger in the sword series by Jennifer Roberson. I love him so so much.

That's where the tiger in my screen name comes from. 🙂
 
I know I'm leaving a lot out but I love Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice. I also love Robin Hood and all the characters from that legend, Shadowcat and Magneto from Xmen, Cara from the Sword of Truth series. I find all of the characters from Dexter compelling. I know there's a lot more I'm forgetting.

In books, Clive Cussler's character, Dirk Pitt, because, no matter what the situation that might occur, no matter how grave the emergency, how utterly insurmountable the odds might be, he always seems to know exactly what to do and exactly how to do it.

I love the Tarzan movies. I've heard since I was a toddler that my late grandfather used to go on fishing trips with the actor that plays him but I have absolutely no proof of that.
Two faves are Holden Caufield, and Nancy Botwin, (though I like her less every season.)
