I'm sure this has been discussed previously, but I want to hear everyone's opinion again (especially since we've had plenty of new members lately!). It'll be refreshing not to have a ship wars 😉

Mine are
Buffy/Dawn- I love there sisterly bond! People can complain all they want about Dawn (which I like by the way), but s5 is probably where I like Buffy the most, and that's all due to Dawn being there.

Doyle/Angel-Talk about and awesome bromance

Riley/Xander-I don't like Riley, but I really liked that Xander had a buddy, these two I feel would have remained good friends if Riley would have stayed longer

Buffy/Faith -...actually these two were almost romantically involved 😛 Insane on screen chemistry, they played well off of each other

Buffy/Giles -Love the father/daughter relationship

Tara/Buffy-I wish we would have gotten more of these two

Well I better stop here for now!

Angel/Doyle
Angel/Cordy (oh, what the hell- I love Angel's chemistry with pretty much everybody- friendship, romance, rivalry etc)

Dawn/Buffy
Cordy/Wesley
Buffy/Giles
Xander/Buffy/Willow

I love cordy/Wesley :)
Great topic 🙂 mine would be:
Giles/willow- The old nerd and the young nerd,so fun 😀

Willow/Xander- The two high school misfits who made all the "cool" people seem like the actual nerds.

Tara/Dawn- A wonderful Big sis/little sis relationship that still touches me.

Xander/Riley- One of the few guy friendships of BTVS so that alone made it quite fun

Angel/Doyle-Wonderful bonding of two Irish gents, great friendship here and Angel really opened up to Doyle many times.

Wesley/Angel- Love the differences between these characters and how they still connect and forge an awesome strong friendship anyways. 🙂 The complexities of their friendship is always fascinating to me,I love their ups and downs, all of the places their friendship finds itself in as the seasons progress. I find their friendship to be the most realistic "guy" friendship in all of television.

Wesley/Gunn- This friendship perhaps more than any other mirrors my own friendship with my actual best friend. 🙂 We were very different yet had an uncanny bond with one another, just like Wes and Gunn. They were combative yet loving. Judgmental yet accepting, and while being different than night and day always loyal to and forgiving of one another completely. Their friendship was marked by a desire by both men to not let their friendship die no matter how much it got "tested". They were determined to be friends until the end,and they were friends until the very bitter end.

Angel/Spike- Bickering brothers,need I say any more 😛

Angel/Laurn- The man with a million "issues" floating around his 200 year old mind and the colorful and compassionate supernatural psychotherapist always there to lend an ear and give some wisdom. Laurn was always there for Angel, even when Laurn had lost faith in Angel's judgement he still trusted him intuitively. Laurn never judged,he just tried to help his dear friend, and tried to steer Angel on the path to peace. 🙂

Love Tara/Dawn.
My nod probably goes to Angel and Spike. Every season of interaction between them was awesome. As friends, as buddies, as competitors, they rocked together. And I thought that was the best maintained friendship in After the Fall. They absolutely make S5 of Ats.

A special mention has to go to Angel and Doyle though. They had the buddy aspect down so well.

Angel & Doyle - Angel finally had a friend he could open up with! 😀
Wesley & Gunn - Prior to the fighting over Fred. Such a shame that friendship was ruined.
Oz & Buffy - I'm convinced they were better friends than we ever really knew. 🙂

Buffy and Willow. The more dysfunctional their friendship gets the more they seem to love each other. It's pretty crazy when you think about it.

Oz & Buffy - I'm convinced they were better friends than we ever really knew.

I've always thought so too. The scenes with just them two together are universally awesome.

It seems that Seth & Sarah were friends in real life, so that makes sense!

I'd go with Anya and Andrew, they complimented each other so well, and were doubled in so many ways, they were both outsides, with awkward tendencies... I just loved the way the dynamics between these two characters!

I love Spike and Dawn's relationship. I like how, when she was younger, he'd protect her. He understood her, and treated her like a regular person - not a "freak" or a Key. Now, he still cares for her just as much, and is fighting it keep her alive.

Xander and Buffy! Their friendship has always been interesting and so much fun to watch and read about in fics.

Xander and Dawn in S7 and S8.

Tara and Dawn: loved how Tara was like a second mother to her.

Angel and Doyle: So awesome seeing Angel with a friend.

Angel and Cordelia in S1 and S2: They were so good when they were friends. Why did they have to fall in love???

Well, as far as I see it Buffy ans Faith did not have a platonic relationship, otherwise that's my favourite 😀

Tara/Buffy-I wish we would have gotten more of these two!
Tara/Spike - loved the cramp in your pants scene!
Actually, I liked both these connections a lot and it would have been interesting if we had gotten to see Tara in more interactions with these two (and probably other characters as well).

After reading this thread though, I agree with:
Spike and Joyce... I mean, who saw that coming right?

Xander/Willow and Xander/Buffy
I love the fact that platonic M/F relationships are represented so well. Willow and Xander have the history of being childhood friends and almost like siblings, but Buffy and Xander is made even more special by the fact that they don't have that history, he saves her life like how many times? Two or Three? And just continually supports her, it's obvious how much he loves her in a platonic way.

Wes & Gunn - these two just worked until, of course, it didn't anymore.

Buffy & Tara - loved their scenes together.

Spike & Angel - this was a hateship that was always brilliant.

This is really difficult because there are just so many! But the strong relationships are some of the best parts of the show.

Some of my favorites (though I will probably remember more once I post this):

Dawn/Spike
Giles/Buffy
Willow/Xander
Dawn/Tara
Buffy/Tara

Buffy/Tara
Anya/Andrew
Dawn/Willow
Xander/Spike (sort-of)
Giles/Faith
Giles/Wesley
Angel/Cordelia (except for ya'know)
Angel/Doyle 🙁((
