Favorite Podcasts of mine combine grisly murder, weird stuff and comedy (and sometimes wine). The ones I like so much that I actually pay for them, are
Last Podcast On the Left (three dudes talk about everything from horrible murders to aliens, conspiracy theories and read creepy pasta)
My favorite murder (two girls in LA talking about murder, and sometimes during their shorter episode reads listeners hometown murders and/or their ghost stories/first responder stories. I'm going to see them live in May!)
Wine & Crime (three girls from Minnesota drink wine and talk true crime. Drunken true crime talk is just the best if you ask me 😀)

I also like Dump People Town (it's three guys who have the podcast, they always have a guest - this week was Breckin Meyer - and they break down three stories of people doing dumbass things. As they always say "the world is getting dumber" so might as well fight it with comedy). I also listen to a Law & Order podcast because that's how sad I am, it's not enough to watch it obsessively I have to listen to it as well.

Those are the ones I listen to in English, all the Swedish ones are geared towards philosophy, language and politics.

That Taake chick was awful. She hated everything.

So, this podcast is far different than most pop culture/fan podcasts that we all enjoy, but Lani Diane Rich of Still Pretty fame (formerly of StoryWonk/Dusted fame, all of which have been mentioned here) has many other podcasts, one of which is called Big Strong Yes. Lani and her co-host Dr. Kelly Jones use this podcast to work through their internal struggles together while reading motivational novels to lead them on their paths (if you like to listen to two smart women be vulnerable and supportive of each other's growth, it's a place to go). I thought to suggest this today specifically because of the episode that dropped wherein there is discussion about a toxic ex-host who listeners of Dusted know well. This is definitely a trigger warning sort of suggestion as sexual and physical abuse are discussed, but it's certainly a story that has to be told that is significant to everyone who is a part of the community formerly known as Oddwonk and a part of the larger narrative of abuse in this world at-large that the MeToo movement has brought to the forefront.

Also, to add some levity to life, if you aren't listening to Myths and Legends or Risk! you're probably a less happy person than I am.

The only non-Buffy podcast I listen to is by Very Pink, which is a knitting podcast started by Staci at her website. I know a knitting podcast seems idiotic but it's done in a Q&A style for learners or people providing answers and interesting facts in eg a historical context. I mean I know how to knit, but now I know where Fair Isle knitting comes from. Turns out Fair Isle is a tiny wee island miles off the north coast of Scotland. Bloody Scots inventing the modern world.

I listen to La compagnie des auteurs made by France culture but it’s in french. I recommend it to french speakers though. They do 4 parts episodes on a specific author and interview academics on certain aspects (politics, philosophy, etc) of the author’s work. I haven’t listened to all of them yet but I enjoyed their episodes on J.K Rowling.

Finally jumping on this podcast bandwagon, downloaded a few of the ones suggested on here, and we'll see how it goes.
