OK, I just finished the season, so here's the official "favorites" thread. Name your top 3- or more! & feel free to add the episodes you loathe, LOL.

I'd have to say my tops were:
-Billy- one of the best of the entire series!
-Lullaby- bawled my eyes out at Julie Benz's performance
-Sleep Tight- again, heartbreaking when baby Connor is taken

Other notable mentions:
-Forgiving, for the scene at the end especially when Angel loses it on Wesley
-Fredless- I love this episode, Fred's not my fav character, but AA does an excellent job in this & I adore her parents, lots of funny stuff
-Tomorrow- best cliffhanger in the Buffyverse!
-Cordy & Wes' Bangel re-enactment in Heartthrob 🙂
-Waiting in the Wings- hot Cangel stuff (& I'm not a Cangel), lovely Summer Glau, and hilarious deleted scene with Alexis Denisof dancing

My least fav eps were Couplet, Provider, and the beginning of Waiting in the Wings. They spent waaaay too much time focusing on the romantic relationships at the expense of the plot. Boooring.

Also sooo not a fan of the Cordy ascending Higher Being thing, and could they have made a decision about Cordy's hair & stuck with it? I already stated that I loathed her hair in Tomorrow.

Least Favorites:

1. Waiting in the Wings: Never liked the reuse of a plot. Besides, Buffy and Angel did it better 😉
2. Double or Nothing: Boring.
3. The Price: Again, boring for the most part.

There was this big issue with her hair and the hair people on the show. She didn't like how they had to style it so she cut it and it didn't look right and then they cut it again and did other funky things with it... I can't find it, but I saw a video of a convention where she went over the whole history of her hair on the show and told why it was so bad for a good portion of it.

Yeah, I have heard that there was some stuff going on, and it's too bad. It's so distracting!
I really enjoyed season 3 of Angel.

My favorites:
Lullaby (Darla was great this season)
Sleep Tight
Tomorrow
Forgiving (Angel and Wes scene was one of the best in the series)

My Least Favorites:
Waiting in the Wings (Not a fan of Angel & Cordy)
Double or Nothing

Overall I enjoyed this season, I just wasn't a fan of Cordy and her higher being story-line (or her hair!) and I wasn't to impressed with Groo either.

Why do the writers have to make all Gunn-centered episodes, like these last two, really, really bad? He's a good character, but this might be so many people don't like him.

I always thought the same thing. I liked Gunn a lot and wish he would have had better story-lines and Gunn-centered episodes. The writers could have done more with his character.
 
Lullaby - One of the best episodes in the whole show. Darla is absolutely heartwrenching here, Holtz's flashbacks are brilliantly done, and that last scene is unbelievably powerful.

Birthday - A great Cordy-centric episode. It's really the epitome of her character development.

A New World - I loved this episode's portrayal of Connor, as an almost animal hunter, and completely alien to our world and all its workings.

The only really bad episode would have to be Provider. Apart from the last scene, which was brilliant, it was terribly boring, the plotting was shoddy and the moral was ham-fisted.
 
The best episodes IMO

3. Fredless

The episode that was least good was Waiting In The Wings. They all go to the ballet and it's like cursed by a warlock, really, that's just stupid..

I didn't mind Provider or Double Or Nothing, but I´m not a fan of Gunn, I´m not sure if it's the character or the actor, it's probably both. But there is one line in this episode that always makes me laugh until I cry and that's when Fred says "Charles, do you have leukemia?" LMAO 😀 so I still like it
 
This was my favorite season and had too many outstanding episodes to name, so I think for me it makes more sense to list the few episodes that I didn't like

Provider- seemed like filler and the storyline was just lame. Seemed like something we would see on a Nickelodeon show.

Waiting in the Wings- pretentious Joss Whedon. Usually his work is brilliant, but this episode was a failed attempt at being artistic and doing something "unique" that he didn't really care that the ballet storyline was stupid and irrelevant.

Couplet- Again pretty boring, especially in such an action packed season.

Double or Nothing- One of my least favorite episodes of the series actually. especially the fact that it followed such an intense arc.

The Price- the episode was okay, but it was really nothing special. Somewhat saved by Connor's shocking appearance at the end.

That being said, the other 17 episodes are nothing short of spectacular and among the best of the entire series.
 
It was my second favorite Angel season, and it got *really* good in the second half. My favorites were:

- That Old Gang Of Mine (First episode I got into Gunn's character, I loved the whole scene at Caritas.)
- Billy(Great episode overall, nice acting by Alexis at the end!)
- Lullaby(Very touching episode. I definitely shipped Angel/Darla in it. The last scene is one of my favorites ever.)
- Loyalty(This is the episode where the fun really gets going! Love it.)
- Sleep Tight(Probably my favorite episode in s3, gripping. I really didn't see the Wes/Justine scene coming, the first time I watched it.)
- Forgiving(Another great episode - third in a row -, can I just say the last scene had me stunned?!)
- The Price(Really love this episode! Everything in it was fun. And Connor re-appearing at the end? Perfect.)
- Tomorrow(Awesome finale, Cordy and Angel are great in it, and the ending is superb.)


My least favorites:

- Heartthrob(Aside from the Cangel scenes, this one is *very* boring. Bad season opener.)
- Carpe Noctem(It's not THAT bad, but I'm never excited to watch it.)
- Provider(Had a few moments, but overall it's nothing special.)
- Benediction(Aside from the ending, I never liked that episode.)
 
Favorites of this season:
(Not really in a specific order)

- Lullaby (Darla was amazing)
- Birthday (Perfectly done Cordy based episode)
- That Old Gang of Mine (Loved basically every scene. Very dramatic.)
- Sleep Tight (One of the saddest but such great performances of the whole cast)

This is my favorite season I have a lot of Favorites. Not listing in order, just order of them airing 😛

- Heartthrob Because I love all the Cordy/Angel scenes its such a fun episode.
- Lullaby Beautiful episode. Julie Benz is amazing. Especially in that final scene.
- Birthday Perfect Cordy episode. And Cangel!!! <3 How can you watch this episode and not see how much he loves her and needs her. The pain in his face when he says "I'm more afraid of her dying then she is." is heartbreaking.
- Waiting in the Wings Because this episode is HOT!! "I'm only alive when you're inside me" *melts*

Hate:

- Sleep Tight I'm sorry but this episode is too heartbreaking for me. I can't watch it. I hate watching it. It seriously depresses me.
- Forgiving One good thing about this episode? Angel attempt to kill Wesley because he deserved it!!!!
 
1. Lullaby - Easily. This episode is just great!
2. Birthday - See above. This episode is a perfect Cordy-centric episode.
3. Sleep Tight - Absolutely devastating, but just a wonderful episode. Alex is amazing.
4. Billy - I hate Billy Blim, but love this episode. Bloody brilliant acting from Stephanie, Charisma and Alexis. Amy does well aswell.
5. A New World - I used to dislike this episode but ugh, when re-watching it really is gold.

Least favorites:
5. Tomorrow - Was just boring and slow. It had good moments, but those moments weren't enough to make the episode stand out.
4. Double Or Nothing - It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good.
3. The Price - See above. It was an OKAY episode simply for the last 5 minutes.
2. Dad - Slow episode, good Lilah moments but apart from that, was just so boring and annoying. >.<
1. That Old Gang of Mine - Before this and after this I did not like Gunn (that changed in season 4). But this episode was just horrid. Boring and slow and imo one of the worst episodes in the JOSSverse.

1. Lullaby, as the conclusion of the trilogy of episodes in which Darla gives birth, stakes herself, and has other cool moments; and likewise, that trilogy is the one that introduces both Sahjahn and Holtz.
2. Dad. Angel reacts to becoming a father for the first time; the stories of Sahjahn and Holtz continue; and various other demons go after Connor--including, of course, Wolfram and Hart.
3. A New World is great with teenage Connor as a stranger in the strange land of Los Angeles. (Hey, I just now realized that this is the meaning of its title--Connor living in a new world. I'd just never thought about it before.)

I also love many of the early stand-alone episodes: Heartthrob, That Old Gang of Mine, Carpe Noctem, and Billy.
