Okay, don't know if this has been discussed before, but what was your favorite season finale?

Mine is a strange one, 'Restless' in season four. That episode just clicks for me as the perfect sum-up for the past four seasons.

What's yours?
 
"Grave" I loved the dark Willow arc and plus, Xander saves the world not Buffy, and I think that's the coolest thing. It's always Buffy who saves the day, but she was stuck in a grave while Xander saved the world ("With my mouth") 🙂
 
A great question but I have a hard time deciding what to answer. I love all the finales, I think.. The best ones would be 3, 4, 5 and 7.. But I love Prophecy Girl as well, it's just perfect as the end of the first season. And Grave used to be one of my favorite episodes in the beginning of my fanhood.. Hm. If this was about the best episode, I'd probably vote Restless, which is amazing and great as an end to season 4. But then there are those season finales that just make you cry and feel like it's the end of the world.. Like The Gift and Chosen (and somewhat Grave as well I guess).. And Graduation Day pt 2 is also really end to something.. To a lot of things.. Gah I can't decide, lol.
 
A really tough question for me. I had real trouble in deciding between Graduation Day Pt.2 and The Gift. I ended up choosing Graduation Day Pt. 2, for no particular reason.
 
I think "The Gift" would have been the perfect mythic ending for the entire Buffyverse. Heartbreaking, beautiful. The "Angel" finale had that tragic, mythic quality too. I'm such a sap. But a post mod cynic too. My second favorite is "Restless". Like the surreal weirdness, and also its unresolved, ominous feeling at the end.
 
So hard, they are all great and after I watch an episode and especially a season finale I think that that perticulair episode is the best one. But I think I have to vote for Chosen here, it always leaves me with a feeling of hope, even though I was so sad when I watched it the first time I couldn't help smiling behind all the tears.
 
It was really hard to pick. It was a three-way tie between Becoming, The Gift and Chosen.

I voted for Becoming in the end, I just love that sword fight and the passion between Buffy and Angel at the end.
 
Hmm this was really difficult... But I said Restless... Just because it was different... And I like how he used it to bring the 4 main characters back together after a Season that seemed to seperate them a bit... With the University thing...

Plus... Hot Willow and Tara... Rawr!
 
I class Primeval as the S4 finale and it's my favourite- the Super Buffy v Adam fight is one of my favourites as is Riley v Forrest. I just think it wraps the series up really nicely (not that I've got any objection against the addition of Restless, althought I think the idea of an epilogue didn't really work).

But from the list I chose the Gift, even though I know Buffy comes back to life it's still sad every time, especially seeing spike in such pain. And it was really clever how they got each character to be vital to the success in their own unique way, which was where Chosen failed for me- Buffy, Willow and Spike were too much more important than everyone else. In a way Willow & Spike were more important that Buffy which is just wrong. And Dawn getting the last line killed me.

Becoming Part II is the most hearttrending, well-written and beautiful of all the finales. I just love it.
 
I loved Grave, but to me Graduation day was more spectacular! I remember the first time i saw it because it was so unexpected! Amazing!
 
This is really difficult. Most of them rocked, (apart from restless)but I would have to say that my favourite was 'The Gift'. I watch it over and over, and the last scene always brings a tear to my eye. *sniff*
 
I had to go with Becoming. It was one of the first times on tv I can recall there being an unhappy ending like that to a season. I literally hunted down Sarah Mclachlan's CD the next week. I felt bad for all the characters. Everything worked so well.
 
chosen was my fave ending, because for me it wrapped up everything. i think it would have been wrong to do anything more tha what we saw, that way, the universe is still alive in fanfics.
but i also love grave. those final words made my heart stop.

Defininately Becoming. I had liked Buffy from the beginning, but Passion and then the season finale got me hooked for good. After that, the obession began. 🙂 And the final scene, with Sarah Mclachlan's song, was one of the finest Joss ever did.

I nearly went for the Season 5 finale, but that was ruined for me by Sky TV in the UK, which cleverly decided to TELL you the ending in the advert they were running the week before the finale. How bloody stupid is that? I remember posting a very annoyed thread on Buffy Boards mark 1 (or was it 2, or 3.... I forget!) straight after seeing it. If I hadn't seen it, the shock of Buffy's death would have pushed it above Becoming.
 
I would have to say the Becoming part 2 was my favorite. I was wondering what they would do with Angel/Angelus there. They couldn't just curse him again and pretend like nothing happen (especially Giles). Also what was gonna go on with Buffy, the police, and Synder. It was also cool that Spike went to Buffy to form a truce.
 
It's gotta be Grave for me. As much as I love The Gift, this one just makes the mark for me. The fact that Xander saved the world and that fact that it was Willow he was saving it from really got to me. It was the cherry on top of an amazing season.
