What's your favorite episodes of season one?

Mine are as follows:
- The Puppet Show
- Welcome To The Hellmouht
- Witch

I think season one is fairly consistenly good, actually. I don't much care for "Teacher's Pet", apart from that all the episodes have qualities I appreciate.

My favourite season one episode is either the witch *sings macho man* lol....or....prophecy girl because it's just amazing! 😀

Witch surprises me every time with how good it is. The leap in quality from WttH/tH is astounding. Even if the whole witchcraft element was uber-cheesey.

Prophesy Girl has to be my favourite. It's such a beautiful episode, and the special music at the end is one of my favourite moments of the whole verse.

I didn't much care for the rest - I generally prefer Seasons 3 through 6. They were good, but not outstanding.

Out of sight out of mind, I like the flash backs and it reminds me that sometimes bullies like Cordy are misunderstood, I'm not saying what they do it justified but sometimes its a front so they do not get picked on. I do love this ep because at the end Marcy is like some kind of Xmen hitman . Its nice to see Cordy and Buffy kind of bonding x

I don't like season one a whole lot, to be honest. I used to love 'I Robot, You Jane' I'm not sure why, I think it was because it was the first episode all about Willow, and she was my favourite character back then. I really like Prophecy Girl and Nightmares. 😀

I liked Prophecy Girl the best. The scene in which Buffy overhears Giles and Angel discussing the prophecy just blows me away. SMG's acting nearly has me in tears every time I watch it.

I also like the hyena episode. I don't know why, but I do. The hyena guy at the zoo is not that convincing and neither are the hyena kids who eat the principal, but Nick Brendon's acting is great, the kids eating the mascot is funny, and Giles' reaction to Buffy's complaints about Xander's behavior is classic.

I think I enjoyed Prophecy Girl most. The episode as whole was a sort of foreshadowing to how good the series was going to become.
Also, the Witch was really good and so was Out of sight, out of mind. Overall I'd say, though, season one was good, but very consistent, there aren't really episodes that actually stand out.

I think "The Puppet Show" was the best episode of season 1.
"The Puppet Show" sure is one of the best episodes of season one. But I so loved the scene in "Prophecy Girl" were Xander asked Buffy to the prom. That was a beautiful scene.

I love watching season 1. Especially right after you have finished season 7. It's so fun to see them all so young and innocent again 🙂

I'm a fan of 'I Robot, You Jane'. It's always fun with some nerdy computer stuff.
But I would say that 'Prophecy Girl' stands out a bit as being a really great episode.

I'm going to have to go with Prophecy Girl & Never Kill A Boy On The First Date

I think I like these episodes so much because these are two of the episodes where you most see Buffy's desire to be a normal girl free of responsibility battle with her deeper sense of what is right and what has to be done.

In Never Kill A Boy On The First Date, we really got to see her try to be normal, and it ended up almost killing Giles. The scene at the end where Giles tells Buffy about how he understands how hard it can be is really touching. I just think that this episode sets the tone for Buffy for a long time to come. The whole "I want to be a normal girl" thing vs the whole "It's my duty to save the world" thing.

In Prophecy Girl, Buffy is forced to choose between "normal girl" and "death to save the world" and even though she isn't stoked about dying, she knows what is right. She always does. I love that about Buffy, it's one of the things that makes the show so worth watching for me.

*****SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SEASON 7 *****

That is possibly the reason why I love the way that the show ended as well... you see her come full circle to where she has accepted that it is her duty to save the world but then at the end of the series, she doesn't have to be the one and only anymore. She gets to be what she so desperately wanted to be in Never Kill A Boy On The First Date.

Sorry about the ramble 🙂

I don't really thinki there's any standout episodes in season one apart from 'Prophecy Girl' and probably 'Nightmares'. It's fairly consistant and a strong start for the show but is just overwhelmed by the sheer quality of certain episodes and such from the other 6 seasons.

Plus 'Teachers Pet' has to be the worst episode ever. That mantis thing is so fake but it always creeps me out 🙁

I love watching welcome to the hellmouth it so cool seeing how it all started and comparing it to season seven it awsome a very good episode as well, it was truly the start of somthing brilliant

Nightmares definitely tops my list as my favourite S1 ep. Prophecy Girl comes in at a close second.

Nightmares takes the top spot because honestly, that demon guy was really creepy looking. Aside from that, we get to see a little more into the darker side of the characters. I like that little bit of character development.
