I have had this idea for a while, I just have forgotten to post it. :hmm: But, now, here it is. (I have not seen this done before, at least since I joined.) Which was your favorite season opener?

((Sorry that I did not have it be a poll, but I don't know all of the names of the season openers, because I can't really afford dvds. Sorry again!!))

Welcome to the Hellmouth: Not much happened because there was so much to introduce, and when I rewatch it it's like being told a load of stuff I already know. I do like the Jesse bits though

When She was Bad: I didn't like this episode much, the master was dead and gone I didn't really see why they had to have another episode about him.

Anne: This one I do like, they brought Buffy back in a realistic way (not just "I'm bored I'll go back home") and the whole hell thing made for a pretty good episode.

The Freshman: Like episode 1.1 they had a lot of new things to introduce so there wasn't really much time for a proper episode plot. But S4 is my favourite so I still like this one.

Dracula: Hate it so much...some people say its their favourite episode ever, I really can't see why cause it sucks and doesn't do anything to introduce the series (except the very end with Dawn).

Beneath (?): Can't remember what it was called, something like that I think. I thought the way they brought Buffy back was very weak and undermined all of The Gift, + the demon gang didn't really do much for me.

No Idea: Don't remember it at all (havent got DVD yet), but I don't remember it being too bad, was it the one with Jonathons death? That was pretty cool. And I liked seeing all the big bads at the end.

So S3 is my favourite opener

Season One: Welcome to the Hellmouth
Two: When She Was Bad
Three: Anne
Four: The Freshman
Five: Buffy vs. Dracula
Six: Bargaining Pt. One
Seven: Lessons

My favorite is Bargaining Part One because it shows the Scoobies without their leader and working as a unit by themselves. Plus Spike watching over Dawn was so cute! 🙂

My favourite one is Bargaining part I (and II). I'm having kind of a hard time seperating them right now since I haven't seen them separately for a while. I love season 6 with it's darkned and depression, and I think this is a perfect beginning to that. I also like seeing the scoobies dealing with Buffy being gone, their lives goes on in a way but you can feel the sadness surrounding them. The scene where Dawn lies down besides the Buffy-bot "sleeping" in her bed, is just so sad. There's so much good things here (except for the demons), I could just go on forever but I'm not going to do that, just wanna say that I think it's beautiful in a sad and confused way.

Bargaining part 1 & 2 were pretty good, nice range of stuff happening. It was so full of pain and angst as well, which started the season off as it went along.

Welcome to the Hellmouth: Well, at first I didn't really like it (when I had mostly watched the newer seasons) but now I think it's a really good start of the show. I mean many things are a bit weird if you compare with the show later on, and the characters aren't Really themselves and so on, but considering it's the first episode ever (not counting the pilot) I think it's extremely good actually.
When She Was Bad: Not my favorite episode and not my favorite season. It's okay but.. well..
Anne: I like Anne. Not like I wanna watch it every week but there's something. With Buffy trying to run away from her destiny but realizing she is the vampire slayer just as much as she is Buffy.. Good start of season 3, since Faith shows up later and end up doing more or less the same (running away from the slayer-thing) but for totally different reasons..
The Freshman: Pretty good start of the whole College thing, which will influence the show for almost all the rest of the seasons... Not one of my favorite episodes though.. Hm, Kathy kind of ruins things for me in this episode just like the next..
Buffy vs. Dracula: Wow, I really dislike this episode.. Dracula was never a cool character to me and it wasn't that interesting really. Plus, not that great as a first episode of the season.. (I love the season though.. so that's why I think this opener wasn't fair to the season lol.)
Bargaining Pt. One: Hm.. Can't make up my mind about this episode (or these two episodes). At first I loved it, but now I don't know. There's something disturbing about it, but there are also things I really love.. And it's a kinda great start of the season, since it's got so much to do with what the season is about.
Lessons: Started liking this more after hearing the commentaries but it's still not my favorite.. Don't know.. Still good though.. kinda.. eh.

Um so yea.. Sorry about the rant I just had to go through the episodes and I'd rather do it alound than in my head.. I guess my favorites have to be Welcome to the Hellmouth, Anne and Bargaining... Though I don't really love any of those episodes...

There I go forgetting about Angel again:

City of: Considering that this is the first episode and they had a lot to introduce I thought it was really good! Tina's death sets the dark tone right from the start. And Winters' death is a great ending- gets W&H set up as the enemy early on (unlike in Buffy where they tended to work there way up gradually). Excellent!

Judgement: Very standard Angel, still a good ep, but nothing stands out. Except the end with Faith, made the whole thing.

Hearthrob: As much as she grew on me I didn't like Fred much at this stage, so she screwed the episode up a bit. Not too bad though

Deep Down: Gunns goatee alone made it good. I loved the way so much time passed since s3, very surprising. A great start to a not so great season.

Conviction: Its season 5 Angel, so for me that makes it better than any other opener. I knew from here that I'd love the season, especially seeing spike appear at the end.

Favorite season opener for Buffy: "Anne" It was nice to see Buffy recalim her identity.

Favorite season opener for Angel: "City of" A great way to start off Angel, with him throwing somebody out a window and all.

Umm for Buffy, I'd hafta say... Bargaining Pt. 1/2... I thought it was done really well, and it was interresting to see the gang reacting the way they did to Buffy's death, like it really didn't happen, because they were going to bring her back... All the denile... Plus... Hot Tara... Wow! lol

I thought Convinction was pretty shitty. It was funny, but it didn't feel like Angel and the bad guys are lame.

I agree with the Bargainers. I really like Bargaining. Seeing Buffy come back from the dead was great.

Buffy vs. Dracula. I don't see why people hate it. It's well-written, funny in all the right places and a little sexy.

Heartthrob. It dealt with Angel mourning over Buffy very well. Nice parallels and overall good.

For Buffy, it would have to be Bargaining parts one and two. They were exciting, realistic, and very well acted. And for Angel I would have to say....actually...none of them stick out in my mind. I think it's because I haven't seen one episode of Angel more than once because I am watching the DVD'S in order.

Bargaining Pt. 1 for me. It was such a great episode seeing the gang coping without Buffy. Although It wasn't as good as the death of Joyce and the way they delt with that, it was still done really well.

I always loved When She Was Bad-it was awesome to see the not-so-nice-side of Buffy and it was a really emotional cathartic response to Prophecy Girl.

For Buffy, my favorite season opener is Buffy vs. Dracula. My least favorite is Anne.

For Angel, my favorite season opener is City of. Especially When he's pretending to be drunk at the very beginning 🙂

My favorite Buffy premiere was Anne. The scene where we follow all the scoobies through the school in one of the first scenes.

For Angel, I was torn. I loved City Of, Deep Down, and Convictions. City of primarily because of the drunk scene and Doyle. Deep Down because Wes is a total bad ass. And Convictions because, well, can you think of a bigger cliffhanger? Well, before Not Fade Away, that is.
