Favorite vampire film?

I loved 30 days of night except for that scene with the kid vampire...that was very disturbing. The fight scene near the end as well as the ending itself were both pretty cool and redeamed it. the whole plot was cooky spooky too, the whole seige thing...kinda like Red Dawn but with vampires instead of Russians.

I keep hoping they will make a prequil to show the vampires taking over that ocean liner and how they got their spider eating little man bitch and eneded up in Alaska.

I also always loved Interview with a Vampire.
 
30 Days of Night scared the crap outta me.

My favorite would have to be Interview with the Vampire, though. I read the book when I was 13 and then somehow convinced my Dad to rent the movie with me. Even after reading the book, that movie STILL scared me. It still does, really. I mean, the idea of Claudia is just chilling, especially the scene in which she is turned. Tom Cruise's face when he's about to eat that boy.... gah. The way they toyed with that poor prostitute was bloody and horrifying. I think it's a well-written adaptation, a well-made movie, and full of scenes that genuinely scare me, and so it still wins top vamp movie for me. The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end every time I even think of that one.

I've seen a fair few, but the overall winner is Queen Of The Damned.
Good music throughout. The last scene is really good.
Not the sort of film that makes you check under the bed, but a very enjoyable film.
 
I'm gonna go with 'Cronos', some will say it doesn't count as a vamp flick, but i think it does, just a different take on it.
 
I love the series blood ties. but typically I started watching it when it was almost over... futhermore I missed the first Episodes so I think I have to by the whole season DVD box...
 
While I love The Lost Boys and Blade movies, and really really dig Underworld & Van Helsing, my fav vampire movie of all time has got to be DRACULA, with Gary Oldman. I just love the storyline, and the way it was filmed (loved seeing Lucy crawl "back into" her crypt... they just filmed the scene & then did it backwards - *old school*! - it was cool) and Gary Oldman was FABULOUS as Dracula. I remember seeing that movie when it first came out; I was dating my husband, & we saw it with my bff & her boyfriend... theatre was completely full - and it was awesome. 😀

Yeah well, exactly that really. Although I also really like the older one, with Christopher Lee. Bram Stokers Dracula story is, for me, just the proper vampire story.
I recently watched Interview for the first time, and I thought it quite good, but at times the story just became sloppy (if that's a proper word, if not, it describes exactly what I mean).
Underworld was fun, but lacked depth.
Van Helsing, I only watched bits of that, but it seemed really the same thing like with Underworld. Interesting CGI and everything, but the storyline wasn't really appealing.
What about Blade? That was also about vampire-ish stuff, right? I must say, I've only seen the first one, but it was good (all within the genre and all)

Edit: I just saw on IMDb that the working title of Blade was Blade: the Vampire Slayer. Glad they changed that 😉
