Favorites Changing Over Time?

Okay, so most people who watch Buffy and/or Angel have their favourite characters/couples. And obviously people's preferences change over time.

So, thinking back to when you first started watching the show(s) and the couples/characters you liked then, have your favourites changed at all? Are there any characters you liked at first but don't as much now?

My favourites haven't changed that much since the beginning but I like Faith a lot more now (after watching season 7 BTVS), Xander/Anya instead of Xander/Cordy, and Giles/Joyce more than Giles/Jenny.
 
Well, mine havent really changed at all. Buffy's still my favorite character. And then spike, etc. Favorite ship hasn't changed either. Spuffy...yea lol. I don't know. Maybe I'm just weird 😛
 
On some things, yes; on others no.

My favorite character always has and always will be Willow, but other characters grew on me, like Anya and Dawn (in season seven when she stopped whining).

As far as ships go, I used to want Xander and Willow to get together, but the Willow/Tara ship it just so beautiful and Xander and Anya were cute together also.
 
I've loved Cordy & Buffy since the beginning. They're both such great characters and I aspire to Cordelia's level of deluded self-confidence 🙂

I used to like Xander a lot more. I feel a lot of his decisions have had a negative impact on my feelings about him, but he is still one of my favorites.

The whole Bangel thing irritates me too. The more I watch Bangel-centric episodes, the more whiney and immature I find the whole romance.
 
My love for Buffy grew more and more over the seasons. Watching her become the great slayer, great friend and wonderful caretaker of not only Dawn, but the Hellmouth.

Now Cordy on the other hand, eh. My love for her faded quickly after she reached Angel. I really liked her snobby, sarcastic, airhead yet sometimes brilliant and selfish comments and actions. But when she moved over to the 9 P.M. spot, she became selfless. And with all these goody goody characters in the Buffyverse, did we really need another self-righteous warrior of good? No! I want my Cordy back.
 
I used to like Cordy in the beginning then I began to go off her.. same with Buffy specially in S6-7.. and I used to hate Spike in like S2 but then I grew to love him.. and one love that has never changed is Angel.. and of course Bangel..
 
Willow and Oz were good together, but I loved Willow and Tara's relationship much more. And, I really didn't like Buffy/Riley, I guess I'd have to say my fave is Buffy/Angel. Dawn was a good character on the show, but she really annoyed me half the time.
 
I've always liked Xander from the start. I didn't, and still dont like Angel when he was in Buffy but I like the character alot more now on his own series!
 
I never liked Andrew in S6, but he redeemed himself in S7.

Wesley also made a good change in Angel. But Gunn's likeability went down the drain.

And I've always loved me some Fred.
 
Yeah Andrew irked the ish out of me in Season 6, but in Season 7 he became one of my favorites. His lines were so perfectly timed and amazingly executed.
 
I liked Willow from the start and still like her, but now its a tie between her and Xander. When I first started watching Angel I only really "knew" Angel so he was my fav, then it became Cordy during S1 but then Fred/Illyria.

Disliked Riley less the second time around, hoping the same rings true for the potentials.
 
  • Season 1
    I didn't really like Angel in this season, so I wanted Buffy and Xander together. I had hoped Willow would find a guy. After Buffy admitted she didn't like Xander "that way" I wanted Xander with Willow and Buffy with Angel.
  • Season 2
    When Cordelia became a real Scooby, I wanted Xander/Cordelia all the way. Then when Oz came, I wanted him with Willow. Everything was good...until Angel lost his soul. I wanted him dead and for Buffy to find a new guy.
  • Season 3
    Now that Angel was back, I wanted him to be with Buffy again. Everything became the same as season 2.
  • Season 4
    Since Cordelia was gone, I wanted Xander and Anya together, because I really liked Anya's humor. Angel was gone, and Riley came. EWW--I hate Riley! For then, I wanted Buffy to find a new guy. I hadn't really liked Spuffy yet. When Tara came, I SO wanted her with Willow.
  • Season 5
    I cheered when Riley left. Then I wanted Buffy/Spike. Except for that, everything's the same for season 4.
  • Season 6
    I was a little tempted to change my Spuffiness to Buffy/Angel (SOMEHOW). But then I changed my mind and wanted them together again. Basically...same as season four.
  • Season 7
    Now that Xander and Anya weren't together, I wanted Anya out of the picture. She just seemed annoying now. Since Tara was gone, I wanted Willow with Xander, especially cause of the whole Dark Willow Thing. I HATED KENNEDY. I stuck with Spuffy.

So it went from:
Buffy/Xander
Willow/New Guy

To:
Buffy/Spike
Xander/Willow
