I know what you mean about Christmas music making your ears bleed...It's November and I've already heard it on the radio...and they just play it OVER AND OVER AND OVER for the next month and a half...don't get me wrong...Christmas is great and all...but I cannot stand Christmas music...

my point was more that it isnt (with very few exeptions) very good at all.

normally its the same old drivvel rehashed year in year out by people who's names wont be known this time next year.

(unless Popidol is just a badly named celebrity)

lol i love christmas music its calms me down alot so sometimes it can be april and i'll pop a cd in and just listen to it... and i've been xmas song crazy lately
my faves are... Silent Night, Noel, white christmas, silver bells, Santa Baby, I saw mommy kissin santa clause (probley aint the name but) and All i want for christmas theres tons of others but i'll stop there.

::hangs head in shame::

I love the Britney Spears Christmas Song..."Santa can you hear me, I have been so good this year..."

And Mariah Carey "All I want for Christmas is You"

There's also a song called Same Auld Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg (sp?) that always moves me.

maiah carry all i want for christmas is like a frikken classic 😉

i like silent night pretty much most versions.

i like Trisha yearwoods christmas cd.. so many good songs. 🙂

I'm a sucker for cheese, so I have to go with Wham Last Christmas. Love that song it's so cheesy and so much christmas.

one of my fav's was.. bo selecta - proper crimbo.. what a great song..
i shamefully.. shamefully.. listened to b2k's 'santas coming to town last' year.. repeatly..

How about...
1. We wish you a merry Christmas
2. What Child is this?
3. Angels we have heard on high.

I like all the traditional Christmas songs. not a big fan of christmas sons on the radio.

Ok, I'm not sure if it's ones to listen to or to sing, so here we go:

To sing (I sing badly, but never mind): Hark, the Herald Angels Sing

Mrs D. sez she likes Do You Hear What I Hear to sing.

To listen to: Please Come Home For Christmas by the Eagles...so sad!

Mrs. D: Santa Claus is Back in Town by Elvis

And we both like Bruce Springsteen's Santa Claus is Coming to Town of course!

Springsteen does that song better than any one else. I love it.

My favorite has always been The Carol Of The Bells.

I must agree. That one I could listen to year round. I do prefer the traditional Christmas songs as many of them sound so hauntingly beautiful when sung by a choir. I also love We Three Kings, The First Noel, Little Drummer Boy and Green Sleeves

Though my fave of all is Christmas Eve Sarajavo (sp?) by the Trans Siberian Orchestra. No words, just an orchestra, piano, electric guitars and passion driving this 2 song medley of Carol of the Bells and We Three Kings. It is absolutely gorgeous.

I'm partial to the traditional ones, esp the second and third verses:

Away in a Manger
Stille Nacht
Adeste Fideles
Oh Little Town of Bethlehem
Angels We Have Heard on High
It Came upon a Minight Clear
Carol of the Bells

I'm lovin' Hark the Herald Angels Sing. I was the first Christmas song I learned, thanks to Charlie Brown. 🙂

I'm also in deep lust with Westminster Carol. The a capella group at my school does it every year, and I never get enough of it. I heart it for always.

To sing (though I doubt I could achieve the extended high note in the chorus these days) - the carol Ding Dong Merrily on High
To listen to - Slade's Merry Xmas Everbody
Pogues and Kirsty Macoll - Fairytale of New York
Bruce Springsteen's Santa Claus is Coming to Town (thanks for the reminder KD - definitely better than the original Spector version)

Ah, I love this one, we always used to sing it at my school, not anymore though.. I also love to sing two Swedish songs called "Det är en ros" and "Världens frälsare". Right now we're singing Deck The Halls, but I don't like it that much, I like the sad ones better, hehe.
