Favourite Darla-type

Darla appeared in many different guises, and I was wondering what type of role you all liked her best in? And why?

I ALWAYS loved her... but I guess I'll go with the historical Darla... :shrug:

I must say I didn't like her as the Master's servant, because in retrospect she was too weak and too subordinate to him. I preffer her as the white beyond-death incarnation we saw in Season 4.

True, but somehow her adamant about her love of Angel and him killing her and telling Buffy he couldn't ever lover her when they were together made me feel for her.

Darla was a great character, but I especially loved her when Drusilla sired her in Angel. I'm not sure why, but I just liked the way she and Drusilla interacted, I guess. I also loved historical Darla in flashbacks, of course. And I liked her in Buffy season 1, even though she was very subserviant.

I gotta agree with princess_zombie and say Drusilla-sired Darla. I was never a huge fan of Darla as a character but she was of course a lot better on Angel than on Buffy, although she always bugged me a bit. Especially in the looking-back-scenes, I don't know why (maybe 'cause Angel was annoying in those too).. Anyways, the human Darla was okay too, just 'cause she didn't talk to much and all that.. Not sure..

I went with historical Darla. I loved seeing the interaction between her and Angelus. She was definitly one of the worst vamps of all-time.

I never liked Darla in Buffy, liked her a little better in Angel and her and Dru together there I kinda wonderful, so I think that's when I like her the most. But I also liked the "good" Darla trying to save Connor, that was beautiful. Otherwise she mostly bugged me..

The two periods where I actually liked Darla were the historical Darla, a truly great vampire. And secondly towards the end when she was pregnant with Connor and sacrificed herself for her baby. It was at the other end of the scale, from evil to the humanity that was in her from Connor, she had come full circle.

I liked Darla when she was pregnant. She was perhaps at her most vulnerable, funny, interesting,and likable. Impressive display of motherly love by sacrificing herself for Connor. I never saw it coming either.

I never really liked darla in buffy, but historical darla i liked, drusilla sired darla i thought was funny and pregnanat darla was great however me darla was best in series 4 when she came back to try and stop connor

I think I liked Darla's character as a whole but if I have to pick one time when I thought she was the best I'd have to say historical Darla.

I thought when they showed her interactions with Angel in the past that it really told alot about her character and you kind of got to know her a little more. Plus she was absolutely gorgeous back then.

What about pre-sireing Darla... you know, the... umm... 'working girl' dying of syphillis... why is that not an option? I don't know what to pick because honestly I really like the character of Darla a lot.

I think Darla was a great character all in all... I picked the pregnant Darla cause I loved it when she sacrificed herself for her baby... that was just so great....

I picked pregnant Darla because there we were able to see both her good and bad sides. And also because she looked so adorable when she was pregnant.

I liked all of the various different Darla's both shows viewed but i HAD to pick White Darla, she was so moving when trying to persuade Conner and the scene actually made me cry and made me dislike Conner for his actions, i already did but hey it made me dislike him even more.

I choose pregnant Darla is my favorite, it was intresting seeing how Darla reacted as both evil and good. Especially when Angel was like Darla, our child has a soul.I was like aw..

I picked Pregnant Darla too, I think it was interesting to see her acting so human, I mean before she was a vampire she didn't seem like a very nice person anyway and I thought it was so sad how she knew she would never be able to love Connor once she'd given birth to him.

I like Darla, as a human, she just seemed so much more, sinister, I know it's weird, but I really did think she was cool, and eviler.
