I'm watching Firefly for the first time & loving it & just wondering who's everyone's fav character?
Mine is deffo Mal!

I hate Mal. I get it. He's got the swagger, but he is such a self-righteous douche.

I am a softie. I am split between Simon and Kaylee. It is not really about the romance. I just love them both. Simon's love for his sister. Kaylee's positive attitude to life.

Kaylee & Simon are great.
Kaylee is so sweet. She gives me early season Willow vibes!

There are similarities, sure. Joss is often accused of writing the same characters over and over again. However, I would argue Willow, Kaylee and Fred are very different from each other.

I don't think Fred's alike to Kaylee & Willow too much.

Good point. Perhaps even more so in early s3.

I wonder how River's story would have progressed into a second season.

Kaylee all the way! She has the fewest pretentions, a pleasant disposition and if I were to ship out on my own spacecraft, she is the first I would call on to be in my crew.

I love Kaylee, but it'd be a duke out between Wash & Zoe for top spot. I love them together, and I love them apart and my feelings towards Alan are well documented.... 😉

I really like them all, but I went with Mal. He has the best lines. Jayne, Zoe & Wash are probably a tie for second lol

Update : I've watched most of the series so far & I changed my mind. I still love Mal but Inara is my fav now!

I went with Zoe. I tend to favor characters that sort of remind me of myself in certain ways, and just like my temperament is more like Oz, I see bits of Zoe in me more than any other Firefly character. I love how calm, cool and collected she is.

I love Zoe she's super underrated & o wish we saw her more on the show!!
