My walls used to be adorned with movie posters. I love a good poster for a film. What are you favourites, if any? Visually striking and unforgettable, these are the ones that first come to mind.

I was never allowed to put anything on the walls as a kid because it was just clutter, so I never got into the whole poster phase. Artwork, swords and mirrors are the only thing I have on the walls now.

That being said, I do like the minimal redesigns of movie posters.

It's not about if you had them on your wall or not - just if you enjoyed any particular poster for a piece of work, you piece of work.
They're by whomever makes them... here's some but usually they are done just by designers. Its not really for the movie. That's why you will sometimes see dozens of different ones for the same movie.

I do understand!
I agree with Gwen movie posters are works of art because a really good one can perfectly capture the mood of a film or it can become a part of pop culture in its own right. Sadly, the art is being lost nowadays.

I like some of your choices its just a shame you went for the pervy Secretary one intend of the one which capture the true tone of the film. Good thread though.

I prefer Maggie Gyllenhaal's arse to her face / same thing.

In your opinion she isn't beautiful you mean, but that wasn't even my point. Its a shit a poster IMO, and I don't think its very nice to say that you'd rather see someone's arse than there face.

Firstly you must be blind because she's beatuiful!😛 Second I get that you're joking but its hardly keeping with the feminist spirit. And thirdly its actually a big issue because that poster misrepresents what the film is about. It makes it look like just another S&M film whereas it is actually the most subversive romantic comedy of the last decade.

MG isn't beautiful. I also don't care if it's her arse or not! I just like the poster. Get. Over. It.
Look, Trick, I know what the film is about, I understand how a poster can misinterpret a film's real meaning, but I can still like the ass shot and enjoy the poster (AND be a feminist), so like, okay. Thanks.

Its probeley not even her arse though looks like a drawing or something to me. Just telling it like it is. The other poster is way better.
I can see why!

Yeah!Everyone loves dinosaurs!
That's what you mean right, right? 😀

Wow, there are so many movie posters I love. Even when I hate the movie they can still have a darn good looking poster. Hehe.

This is a type that appeals to me

the only movie poster I would consider owning- and I had to recreate it for a MAD course- would be this one:

I just don't find poster with photography in them as appealing..

@Taake Do you like the film, too? Or just its poster? That is nice, though. Very simple and nice to look at.

Made me think of Irreversible. Love the movie and its unsettling poster (if you know the film, you'll understand why it's unsettling... Ugh)
