Myself and the hubby, Angel have been reminiscing this afternoon about our favourite songs from movies, including some really old soundtracks - cuz you know, we're old 😛

Some of them were really cheesy too like Streets of Fire and The Shadow.

So what are your favourite movie soundtracks from recent and older movies? ::evil1::
 
I guess as for the older movies I'd say 'Dirty Dancing'..not really my type of music but still🙂
 
Top Gun and Footloose and Fright Night... ahhh the good old days lol

More recent would have to be Queen of the Damned..erm cant think of any others really.
 
Mine would have to be Lord of the Rings(all 3 movies) and Romeo&Juliet (the Leonardo DiCaprio version)
 
Lots of films with good music in them but my all time favourite has to be 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I'm not a big classical music fan but the music just fitted in perfectly with the film. "Also sprach Zarathustra" always brings a shiver to the spine - it has resonances for me with the Apollo moon landings, as that was the music the BBC used - I remember Mum waking me up to watch just before Armstrong stepped out (at some awful early morning hour). How many board members saw that then? I'll bet most of you weren't even born in 1969 - I told you I was old 🙂
 
OMG how could i have forgot lost boys...cry little sister was the best song ever me and my friend used to sit and listen to it over and over again learning the words...i still know them now...anyone know what year that film came out? i have it on video but it would take me ages to find it...i must have only been about 10 i think!!
 
I loved the Chicago soundtrack. I don't know, that movie just really got me interested in jazz ... it's weird. *shrug*

THE LOST BOYS was released in 1987. ::grad::

Purple Rain god i remember that movie i still have that album too.. fave song...when doves cry. i actually watched it a couple of weeks ago.

Playing road game has just reminded me of another old one Young Guns cant remember the whole soundtrack just remember Blaze of Glory loved that film and song 😀

You might think I'm joking about this, but I'm honestly not. My favourite musical score is Rober Duncan's score of Chosen.

If you want, you can download it from Duncan's site and see for yourself. It's as good as anything on the big screen. Listen to it, and your going to want to dig out your Chosen tape. Here's a link to download:

I also like the score to Clockwork Orange, Manhattan, and John Williams score of the 1976 version of King Kong.
 
Ooohh...I just luv soundtracks! I have several but one that I really liked and lost (somebody borrowed) was Empire Records! I think My Best Friend's Wedding is a good one too, very fun. In the past I have had Pulp Fiction, which was also fun. One's that I currently have:

Moulin Rouge
Spawn
My Best Friend's Wedding
Practical Magic
Reality Bites
Leaving Las Vegas (my brother burned this for me, I didn't buy it)
Keeping the Faith (I had to hunt for this one during one Christmas, but I got it!)
Ghost World

That's all I can think of right now, some more might of escaped me at the moment...
