I started a thread recently about Andrew, and got really curious based on some of the answers:

Who is your favourite nerd/geek in Buffy? And I mean nerd/geek in the best sense of the word. I am a proud geek girl myself 🙂

Tell me, and do motivate your answer! 🙂

Honestly? Fred. I love how she totally opens up and becomes this compelling character but never gives up her essential geek-nature. It's, er, inspiring.
 
Hmm on Buffy it's hard - I'd say Xander and maybe Jonathan too.
And on Angel definitely Fred .
 
I think Andrew was my favorite because I considered him a little more dorky than everyone else. Especially his center episode he had in season 7 he was so cute and funny.

Haha I laughed when I saw that I remember watching him say that and how he sounded was just hilarious. :tongue3:
 
Xander. 😀 I guess because he's not really too geeky. He's not too focused on Star Trek like Andrew is, and his geekiness wasn't too over-the-top. Plus he's such a hot geek.
 
Xander wasn't really all that geeky, more like sexaaaaay. ;D

Andrew was definitely my fav geek, he was more annoyingly hilarious.
 
Fred, she was probably the sweetest person in the verse, all the way until she died. she was totally unbiased even when it comes to her friends/boyfriend/enemies, she's always fair.
by season 5 she was a hot & cool geek.
some say Cordy was the heart of the group, I say its Fred, she keeps the morale of the group high.
she knew what Wesley did was wrong, & what Angel did was justified. she felt for both sides, Wesley tried to protect Connor only to get double crossed, she understood what he did, but didn't like that he didn't trust them in this, but never treated him like an enemy.
Angel tried to kill Wesley because he took his son away from him, she understood his actions & never judged him.
true she was skinny when she first appeared, but she was HOT in season 5.

ok am praising her too much, but she deserves it, she's my favorite geek.
 
I thought Jonathan was cute. Sometimes I think it would've been interesting if the First as Warren had convinced Jonathan to stab Andrew instead. I mean, Jonathan had been around since the beginning. He probably would have been more accepted into the gang. But alas.

My favorite "nerd" of all is high school Willow though. I liked her outfits and how she and Xander often had matching shoes. She was an innocent computer wiz and always pursuing Xander's heart. Very cute.

My first thought would be Andrew. But I have to admit that's because he's incredibly geeky. Since I see Fred and high school Willow more as smart people. Which I guess means geeky or neerdy to a lot of people. I'd never call anyone that likes school and do homework religiously like Willow for a geek/nerd. So with my definition Andrew is at top. But with the more general idea of what a geek/nerd is high school Willow comes first with Andrew and Fred tying second place.

Fred calls herself a geek & a nerd, so according to her she is a geek.
 
I really loved Willow pre-Season 4. But if we're talking about the Trio 'nerds' then definitely Jonathan. 🙂
