What is your favourite quote? I'm talking about quotes in general, so it's doesn't have to be buffy-related 🙂

"It's worth nothing Harris. Everything that comes out of your month is a meaningless waste of breath. An airborne toxic event." --Principal Snyder, What's My Line

The best of Snyder.

In all seriousness though, my two favorite quotes are both a part of my banner.

"We live as though the world were as it should be, to show it what it can be." --Angel, Deep Down

"I asked him, ‘How can a man be brave if he’s afraid?’ That is the only time a man can be brave, he told me.” --Robb Stark

The first one, from Angel, I have tattooed on my back and the second one was one of the lines that cemented Robb Stark as one of my favorite characters ever. I love everything about those two lines. Everything they mean, the way they inspire me and make me feel. It may sound corny but to me, those lines, and the characters that say them, make up a lot of how I try to live my life.

I love the Angel quote.

It's weird, in the book I think it's Bran and Ned talking, but on the show it's Robb and Cat
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFOca70UpSA"]Smallville I Am The Villain of This Story - YouTube[/ame]

The quote starts around 0:53.

Of course, that's just my favorite Smallville quote. (One of them) I have multiple favorite quotes from other shows/movies. This one was just the first to come to mind.

For me it's

"I'm Buffy the vampire slayer and you are?"-Buffy "Anne"

"Seize the moment cause tomorrow you might be dead"-Buffy "Welcome to the Hellmouth"

Non Buffy Related I really like this quote from Dawson's Creek:

"What's a soul mate?"

"It's uh... Well, it's like a best friend, but more. It's the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else. It's someone who makes you a better person. Actually, they don't make you a better person, you do that yourself because they inspire you. A soul mate is someone who you carry with you forever. It's the one person who knew you and accepted you and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. And no matter what happens, you'll always love her. Nothing can ever change that. Make sense?"

I love this quote cause it reminds me of my best mate and how lucky I am to have her 🙂

Id buy that for a dollar
Inhance your calm
What seems to be your boggle?
Love makes you do the wacky

Few of my faves

I love this one from Doctor Who:

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant."

My fave quote ever is not from a tv show:

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
I don't even know who said it, and it's a little tacky I know, but it's the reason I used to be in a dance program.

I have various quotes from the French version of Earshot that I adore. Haven't seen the English version enough times to know them all.

Great quotes everyone. Many of them made me think, and that's always a good thing, haha.

I love:

"It's so easy to laugh, it's so easy to hate, it takes strenght to be gentle and kind". It's from my favourite song by the Smiths.

I have many more, but that's my favourite! Oh and "be the change you want in the world". Maybe a little worn out, but still true!

"You're in my world now. And Sunnydale has touched and felt for the last time." - principal snyder

"No weapons, no friends, no hope. Take all that away, and what's left?" - Angelus
"Me" - Buffy

" So, either you hit her, or you did your wacky mime routine for her." - Oz
" Well, I didn't do either, actually. But she deserves it, don't you think?" - buffy
" Nobody deserves a mime, Buffy." - Oz

This one kind of blows my mind, haha:

You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.

(Yes I am a hippie, lol)

It's always been one of my favorites. I'd say I'm a hippie too if not for being pro-soldiers, anti-drugs, and iffy on the "free love"

Nah. You *are* both soul AND body. So there.
For a future librarian like me, this is quite a nice quote:

"Smell is the most powerful trigger to the memory there is. A certain flower, or a-a whiff of smoke can bring up experiences long forgotten. Books smell musty and-and-and rich. The knowledge gained from a computer is a - it, uh, it has no-no texture, no-no context. It's-it's there and then it's gone. If it's to last, then-then the getting of knowledge should be, uh, tangible, it should be, um, smelly." - Rupert Giles

Here is one (of many!)

"Never get so attached to a poem you forget truth that lacks lyricism." From "En Gallop," by Joanna Newsom, one of my all time favorite songs.

Also, HI MIKI! So nice to see you again! 😉

Hiiiiiiiii sweetie!
I have many favorites from Repo Man (the 1984 film with Emilio Estivez).

Here's one:

Leila: What about our relationship?
Otto: What?
Leila: Our relationship!
Otto: **** that!
Leila: You SHITHEAD! I'm glad I tortured you!

------

Note that my liking that reflects my then 22 year old sensibilities. 🙂

That last line definitely makes me want to watch the film
"We take what we can get, champ, and we do our best with it. I'll be seeing you. I'll be seeing you." - Cordelia

Excuse while I cry my eyes out.

There are too many BtVS quotes! I'll name some quotes outside of that multiverse.

You want to know what happened to me? Why I'm so ordinary? You! You're what happened to me! --- Meredith (Greys Anatomy)

You don't get to call me a whore. When I met you, I thought I had met the person I would spend the rest of my life with. I was done. So all the boys, and all the bars, and all the obvious daddy issues, who cared? Because I was done. But, you left me. You chose her. I'm all glued back together now. I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke. You don't get to call me a whore. --- Meredith (Greys Anatomy)

I don't want to see a lot of people. I don't think they want to see a lot of me. ---Pete (Now & then)

Papa, don't you remember me? Papa, please! You've got to know me! It's Sara, remember? Remember India and Maya? Remember the Ramayana... and Emily? And the locket with Mama's picture? Papa, please! Papa, tell them! No! No! Papa!!!--- Sara (A little princess)

Sometimes when I dream, I sense a part of me that's missing. It's a strange feeling having your heart remember something your mind can not. -- Captain Crewe (A little princess)

All my life you made me think I was only worth what someone would pay for me! But Christian loves me. He loves me. And that is worth everything. --- Satine (Moulin Rouge)

Nobody talk to me! Nobody human has anything to say to me today! -- The Doctor "the beast below" (how I feel whenever I watch Earthlings or The Cove)

Madge: I don't know why I keep shouting at them.
The Doctor: Because every time you see them happy you remember how sad they're going to be. And it breaks your heart. Because what's the point in them being happy now if they're going to be sad later. The answer is, of course, because they are going to be sad later.

Don't show me that! Not the night he died! I don't want to see him die! --- Madge "the doctor, the widow, & the wardrobe"

I stole your childhood and now I’ve lead you by the hand to your death. But the worst thing is, I knew. I knew this would happen. This is what always happens. Forget your faith in me. I took you with me because I was vain, because I wanted to be adored. Look at you, glorious Pond. The girl who waited for me. I’m not a hero. I really am just a mad man in a box. And it’s time we saw each other as we really are. Amy Williams. It’s time to stop waiting. --- The Doctor "the god complex"

These first two aren't really important I just like the way they sound.

"We rode on the winds of the rising storm, we ran to the sounds of thunder, we danced among the lightning bolts and tore the world asunder." -The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan.

“Tall ships and tall kings
Three times three,
What brought they from the foundered land
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree." -J. R. R. Tolkien

This final one is from political philosopher John Rawls, I like it because I'm very concerned with fairness and so this quote speaks to me. I could share more, but a lot of my favorite quotes are of a religious or political nature so I don't want to risk turning this thread into a debate.

"If a reasonably just Society of Peoples whose members subordinate their power to reasonable aims is not possible...one might ask, with Kant, whether it is worthwhile for human beings to live on the earth" -John Rawls "The Law of Peoples."

-We were are Number 94 in the charts, but everyone had an opinion on us. That was the most brilliant thing we’d achieved. (Nicky Wire, lyricist and musician of Manic Street Preachers)

-"A scraping subject ruled by fear
Told me whiskey works better than beer
The judge is on vinyl, decisions are final
And nobody gets a reprieve
And every wave is tidal - if you hang around
You're going to get wet
I can't prepare for death any more than I already have
All you can do now is watch the shells
The game looks easy, that's why it sells"
~King's Crossing, Elliott Smith
