Favourite quote?

Carmen: The windows to the soul are not the hips, but the eyes.
Fortuneteller: You may wish on the stars but they're dead, just the light.
Carmen: But they shine just as bright as they did their entire lives.

The world is full of broken people. Splints, casts, miracle drugs, and time can't mend fractured hearts, wounded minds, and torn spirits. --- (Dean Koontz, One door away from Heaven)

Did you ever love me? (it was heartbreakingly asked by Clive Owen in Closer & Dr. Robert Chase on House, I don't know if it was the characters, that they loved women that clearly would never really love them, or those gorgeous accents that made me like the line so much)

Oh, man. I have lots of favorite quotes. Here are a few:

Cop: Number 3, step forward.
Fenster: Handmedakeeys ya c***sucka.
Cop: In English please.
Fenster: 'scuse me?
Cop: In English!
Fenster: Handmeda f**kin keys you c***suckerwatdafaak.
-The Usual Suspects (1995) People who know the scene know what's going on 😉

Jules: What country you from?

Jules: What ain't no country I ever heard of. They speak English in What?
-Pulp Fiction (1994)

John Hammond: All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked!
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but, John, if The Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.
-Jurassic Park (1993)

There are two kinds of people in the world, my friend: Those with a rope around the neck, and the people who have the job of doing the cutting.
-Tuco, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
-Blondie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)

I don't have that many off the top of my head, but here are two that I really like.

"You won, alright? You came in, and you killed them, and you took thier land. That's what conqureing nations do. It's what Caesar did, and he's not going around saying 'I came, I conquered, I feel really bad about it'. The history of the world is not people making friends. You had better weapons and you massacred them. End of story." - Spike

"Oh my god, they killed Kenny!"
"You bastards!" - almost every episode of South Park

"What about beavers? If you love trees so much why not club a few beavers?"- Lindsey Bluth, Arrested Development

I wouldn't say it's my favourite but it's definitely one of my favourites and the one I have the easiest to remember. Fits me quite well too I think.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I do know however that some people, sometimes it feels like the majority, feel like being nice is the same as being weak. I guess those people wouldn't see this as a good quote at all.

Love that whole episode, especially that quote. Also, "A bear! You made a bear!"

Christine: The woman looked like a turtle, Barb. I didn't think you could handle it.
Barb: I do not care for people who look like things other than people. - The New Adventures of Old Christine

Simmons: I apologize for being so young.
BJ: That's alright, you'll grow out of it. -M*A*S*H

Hawkeye: I'm bored! Bored bored bored bored bored bored!
BJ: Uh-oh! Man overboard. -M*A*S*H

Homer: GOD LOVES YOU!!! HE'S GONNA KILL YOU!!! - The Simpsons

Homer to Bart: Do you wanna change your name to Homer Junior? The kids could call you HoJu! -The Simpsons

The first quote that comes to mind is Anya in Tabula Rasa, it cracks me up EVERY time.

"Sensible? You think it's sensible for me to go down into that pit of cotton-top hell, and let the the little fluffers hippety-hop all over my vulnerable flesh?"

"This one I just came across again in "Storm of Swords" from the "Song of Ice and Fire" series:

"Time to cross the Trident" --Daenarys Targaryn. I like it. Out of context it's a little harder to understand, but it means that you're facing something big, something scares you, but something that you have to face all the same, and it's time to do it. It kind of means here we go, let's get it.

And this gem came from a heavily intoxicated and depressed friend of mine a few months back, which while kinda sad, is pretty freaking funny:

"When you drink you smoke. When you smoke you drink. It's the cement that clings my life together."

Marge is refilling her ketchup and mustard bottles with packets from a restaurant and Lisa sees her and asks "Do you do that with relish?". And marge answers, "no, I'm actually quite embarrassed about it."

Spike: A bear! You made a bear!
Buffy: I didn't mean to!
Spike: well, undo it, undo it!

Poor Spikey afraid of bears.

After that... my guess is you'll never hear from him again. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that... he's gone.

"When somebody loved me, everything was beautiful. Every hour we spent together lives within my heart." -Sarah Mclachlan

"And I'd give up forever to touch you, cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be, and I don't want to go home right now
And all I can taste is this moment, and all I can breathe is your life
When sooner or later is over, I just don't wanna miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me, because I don't think that they'd understand.
When everything is meant to be broken, I just want you to know who I am.

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming, or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies, you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me, because I don't think that they'd understand
When everything is meant to be broke, I just want you to know who I am." - Goo Goo Dolls

"Bored now." - Vamp Willow

"Seven years of college down the drain." - John Belushi

"See the stone set in your eyes, see the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you
Slight of hand and twist of fate, on a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you.
With or without you, With or without you
I can't live with or without you." - U2

Probably my favorite quote ever (nah! I can't make that claim, I have lots of favorites....but this definitely ranks as one of them)

In Roseanne - It's a dream sequence....

David: "Bonjuour, eh?"
Roseanne: "Stop speaking french-canadian!"

Roseanne ROCKS!
This quote speaks to me so much because it's how my life is right now. I'm at a crossroad, and I don't know where to go. I'm afraid I'll make the wrong choice and have a life without meaning.
"Hell's waking up every goddamn day and not even knowing why you're here." -Marv, Sin City

Comes from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Thought it was funny!
"When life gives you lemons, just say '**** the lemons,' and bail."

It's simple but sometimes that's what you gotta do. Sometimes it's better to abide rather than worrying about everything...
"**** it..."
Jeffrey 'The Dude' Lebowski

A legend. I find this quote very true. I mean think about all the things we do not know about our history, our planet, our universe, our subconsciousness and all kinds of things. I don't think we have the capability to know all these things and still stay sane. I get a bit insane as soon as I start thinking about time travel...
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents..."
H.P. Lovecraft

Some misanthropic quotes:
"The world is indeed comic, but the joke is on mankind."
H.P. Lovecraft

"The only thing we have to fear on this planet is man."
- Carl Jung

Some ASoIaF-quotes:

"Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you." - Tyrion

"The most insidious thing about bondage was how easy it was to grow accustomed to it."
- Tyrion

Frooley,

Yeah, in the book it's Ned and Bran after they execute Will. In the show however, they give the line to Robb when he's talking with Talisa in S2. I think that was done because Robb's role on the show is expanded quite a bit from what is in the series, and they needed to give him some character moments he doesn't have in the books like the other main characters do. I really liked that they gave him that line. I think it really fits him and acts as a bit of an inspiration to him.

Yeah I agree, it was a good thing they changed that. I remember growing more fond of Robb the further into the books I got. It was a slow developing "relationship". Guess they need to hurry it up a bit! :)

"Other people have a nationality. The Irish and the Jews have a psychosis." Brendan Behan

“Does this darkness have a name? This cruelty, this hatred… how did it find us? Did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and embrace it? What happened to us that we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war, hoping for their safe return, but knowing that some would be lost along the way? When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows. Swallowed whole by the darkness.
