Fear itself

Oo! And what about Lobster Guy??? Was that Joss? I've always wondered that.

I love how Buffy describe her pain with the pumpkin.Buffy: “I was just thinking about the life of a pumpkin. Grow up in the sun - happily entwined with others, then someone comes along, cuts you open and - rips your guts out.”

Out of season four this is one of my favorites, I love Halloween episodes plus the demon was super cute at the end. But I loved Xander and his whole James Bond get up, just in case they got turned into their costumes again. Also Anya and her bunny costumes was priceless.

I like the episode, but I don't like how Willow acts with Buffy. It just bugs me. But I think season 2 Halloween was better, just love that episode.

I also liked season 2 Hallowen better! And once again whenever Buffy feels isolated her friends blame her...why?I don't understand :(
Just watched this episode. Liked it a lot! The best up until now in season 4 for me.

There was good tension throughout the story. I liked Oz and Willow's fears representation but i'm not too sure about Buffy and the basement thing, what was the point really? As for Xander, well... we needed to see more!

Anya in her costume is cute :lmao: And Giles with the sombrero hahahahaha! 'IT'S ALIVE!!!!!' :lmao:

The two scenes that were spooky for me was the skeleton stabbing Buffy from behind and the 'hissssing sound' part(gotta love Xander look when he says that).

The end was a surprise the first time I saw it. I expected Buffy to fight her fear or something.

Overall Halloween episodes are always fun.

Joan the Vampire Slayer
Joan the Vampire Slayer
Awesome banner. That's a great scene.
LOL Yeah, Giles with his chainsaw was pretty epic. I love Tony's little smile as he starts cutting the door. 😉

My favourite part is definitely:

Willow: I'm Joan of Arc. I figured we had a lot in common, seeing as how I was almost burned at the stake. And plus she had that close relationship with God.
Xander: [to Oz] And you are...?
[Oz reveals a name tag saying "GOD"]
Xander: Of course.
Xander: Wish I'd thought of that before I put down my deposit. I could've been God.
Oz: Blasphemer.

And later Buffy says: Thank the Lord. Oz replies: You're welcome. LMAO!!

I know I'm dredging up an old thread, but I love this episode. One of my favs of the Halloween eps. So much funny stuff, and it starts right in at the beginning:
Xander (about his pumpkin): I don't know. I was going for ferocious-scary, but it's coming out more dryly sardonic.
Willow: It does appear to be mocking you with its eye holes.
Oz: Yeah, it's nose hole seems sad and full of self-loathing.

I hadn't really caught it before, totally noticed it this time the beginning of the tension with Willow's magic use, and Buffy's leadership role. Also more angst about Oz and his wolfy side. Of course we'll see that come to a head a little later in the season.

I agree that this is a scary ep for me. I thought the basement scene was incredibly symbolic of Buffy's fears: all alone, with only death surrounding her.
