I think it's really sad people are ganging up on one person. It's very cruel. I thought cliques/bullying were discouraged about the board? Ahh well. I happen to be a Christian and therefore everyone in this thread is in my prayers and I really hope you guys will rethink your actions/words.

Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself, but it doesn't make me feel any worse about myself. You don't know me, as well as I don't knwo you. Well, when you report a post (why do I feel like I'm narrating a film strip?) it gets emailed and pmd to all the mods of the forum it is in and the admins.
It is then taken care of depending on what it is. If it's something simple like "oops I accidentally posted twice" or something a mod takes care of it. If it is something along the lines of what we've been discussing here, we look at the thread in question and see what we think about it, if we agree that it needed to be reported etc.
Then we decide the appropriate action. A lot of times we can tell that the person didn't mean to offend and were trying to be sarcastic or something, so we just remind the person via pm to be a bit more careful about it. If it is someone who has really gone over the top we explain our rule and ask them to please respect others on the board. If someone does it repeatedly we let them know it won't be tolerated and further action will be taken if they don't quit it (lol). In extreme cases where someone has been warned repeatedly and they don't lighten up, we might discuss whether they need to be banned. But usually, when someone needs to be banned, you know right away because it's usually someone who is only here to post comments and doesn't engage in any of the discussions. Banning is always a last resort as many of the people here can attest lol

I'm not calling your authority into question at all, but have you ever thought of upping the punishments a little bit? I'm not saying ban them or something like that. I mean, like you said, if it was a double post or someone who didn't real mean it than no big deal. But if you came across this thread than maybe you should up the stakes a bit. I'm not saying ban a person or whatever. Like, maybe, take away their karma. that seems to be the kiss of death around here. people get banned cuz of how upset they are. LoL. It's just a suggestion, in no way am I telling you what to do.

Well obviously it depends on what they are doing. When a person makes one comment, usually if we say something to them they stop it.Hero said:

I guess what I'm trying to say is that usually a stern talking to is all that is necessary, but we deal with everything on a case by case basis. There is no automatic response. In the past we've done things like temporarily take away pm priviledges, suspensions and the like. But I am a firm believer in talking things out.
