Have any of you gone to the Haunted Hayride they have at the old L.A Zoo at Griffith Park? My friends and I usually go to Knotts, Universal, or The Queen Mary. This year we want to do something different. Would you recommend this?

I didn't even know that existed. My friends are honestly pretty lame when it comes to that stuff, and the ones who would be down are away at college. It sucks. I love Halloween, it's my favorite holiday. I tried to get them to go to Universal one year but...no. Grr! Sorry my post was no help at all haha, I saw some haunted hayride on t.v. and it looked like fun, so I'd go to the one at Griffith Park if I were you, but you should probably Yelp it.

I've gone a few times, and honestly it's pretty much the same thing you will get at Knotts, just a little less expensive.

I've always found that your experience will depend upon the mood you go in with. If you are paying attention, of course you can tell all the props are fake and you can anticipate when and where things will pop out; but it you have a fun attitude about it you can certainly enjoy yourself.

As far as the old zoo is concerned, it's there year around for you to hike to/check out. Lots of the old cages are out in open in the park area so they aren't particularly scary. In my opinion, as someone who was born and raised in LA and lives walking distance from Griffith Park, it's much creepier not all decorated for Halloween.

Haha, yeah I burly found out about it last year. 😱 I didn't get a chance to check itout though. I'm pretty excited the reviews I read on Yelp were pretty good. 🙂

Sounds good! I'm a chicken when it comes to these things. I get creeped out really easily. So I'm excited! 😀 AGH! I hardly go to Griffith Park so I don't think I've ever seen it. I can only imagine.😱
