Who do you think would win if there was a fight between Illyria and Dark Willow? This question was inspired from this--->YouTube - Illyria Dark Willow - Apocalypse Now video. Its so cool. you should check it out!

Anyway, I think Dark Willow would win. She seems like she has more power in her.and Willow was running on revenge and Illyria....wasn't.

So whats your opinion?

id say Illyria would win, i mean Willow was powerful but Illyria was a god...

With both at the peak of their power (remember, Wes drained off a lot of Illyria's power to keep her from exploding), there would be no contest. Anything Willow threw at Illyria would fail because Illyria would simply stop time, move out of the way, and dismember Willow at her convenience. Even at her reduced power, Illyria was at least as strong as either Spike or Angel, and had literally thousands of years' fighting experience. Remember when Willow tried to take on Glory? Imagine Glory's power controlled by a thoroughly sane warrior. Long story short, Illyria's foot, Willow's a**. Get the picture?

Even if we were talking about them at the peak of their power, I'd say Willow would win. She'd probably have a spell to stop time herself, after all, and thus, Illyria would only have her strength. And obviously, Willow would win easily after Illyria's powers were drained.

Illyria could stop time. How would Dark Willow beat that? Chances are, she wouldn't even notice whenever time stops (it could be), and that's the point where she would be completely lost.

Well I'd say Willow was going to destroy the world Illyria was only concerned with reconquering L.A. which long ago used to be her's also. Willow had the power to do pretty much anything she said herself she was connected to everything. Powers wise I'd had to go with willow I mean she could probably create some kind of anti-temporal field around her and continuously blast illyria.

I think Dark Willow's plan to end the world was probably a bit overly ambitious, especially considering the fact that her power didn't seem to last that long before burning out. First time she burned out, she drained Rack. The second time, she drained Giles' power, which was only on loan from the mysterious "Coven" back in England, and that was a trap, meant to have a huge initial flash, giving her the illusion of tremendous power that actually burned out quickly when she actually put it to the test. Raising the temple exhausted it almost completely, leaving her with not even enough power to sustain an extended attack on Xander. When all is said and done, the girl is a pure flash in the pan.

Illyria, on the other hand, was an awesome fighter, even after a portion of her power was drained, harnessed, diverted, or whatever Wes really did with it. She was at least as good a fighter as Angel, and she had probably thousands of years of fighting experience before being entombed in the Deeper Well. Willow has had, what, seven years of ASSOCIATING with real warriors. She was good at taking charge on the couple of times Buffy was out of the picture (at the end of Season 5 and the beginning of Season 6) but even then, she never did much real fighting, just standing back and giving orders.

The one time that she fought Buffy, she drained her power almost to depletion, and we're talking about a Slayer, not a world conquering hell god. Willow is nothing more than a splattered bug on Illyria's windshield.

Actually by re-watching Grave you'll pick up a couple of facts. Giles was send by the coven so that when willow drained him it could help her become aware of her human emotions which she had loss. Actually what willow said was she had become connected with everything everywhere she went as far to say no other mortal being has ever had as much power so upon feeling everyones pain she decided to destroy the entire world. When she fought buffy not only did she hold her own but most of her magics were being suppressed by anya. And she still kicked Giles ass. Her powers only gave out when she was with xander because of the love he felt for her and the magics she stole from giles reconnecting her to them.

Who would win?
Willow took Buffy and Dawn from Rack's place to the magic shop, did she do back in time? did Willow stop time to do it? We don't have any details here. I don't think Illyria would even be bothered by that.
When Willow raised that temple, that was Willow becoming good, she had been dosed. So that has nothing to do with Dark Willow.
Did Willow do anything that would have made Illyria see her as a threat?

But you really can´t compare the Willow that tried to kill Glory with Dark Willow in season six. It´s not the same. She was on her way to real darkness while fighting with Glory, but never got close to the place she was in then Tara died. Well, that´s my opinion anyway.

At the peak of their power I would definitely say Illyria. But I don´t think the Illyria we saw in the last episodes of Angel would have much of chance.

I meant that ILLYRIA, not Dark Willow, was as powerful as Glory, but sane. Dark Willow was nowhere near as powerful as Glory, sane or not. Illyria, at her peak, was at least as powerful as Gory, if not more powerful.

Yeah, I know. What I was trying to say was that you can´t compare the result of the Willow- Glory fight with a possible Dark Willow- Illyria fight (that´s there I might have understood you). Yes, Illyria was/is at least as powerful as Glory. No argument there, I´m totally with you on that one.

I don´t even claim that Dark Willow would stand a chance against Glory (in human form), but that´s harder to know since we´ve never seen that happen. And as you can see in my previous post I think that Illyria in her peak would win against Dark Willow.

Maybe I´m not making any sence at all and I just keep falling deeper and deeper in the hole of misunderstanding.

Don't worry about it, it's a hole we've all been in at one time or another. (regardless, i still believe that Illyria, with her greater power and far greater experience as a warrior, could simply avoid Willow while waiting for her power to exhaust itself. then spread her all over the landscape like peanut butter on bread. (How would Illyria know that Willow's power is exhustable, you might ask. Simple. I told her when she was over here last night having pizza and beer with me, Wonder Woman, and Red Sonja.)

Hmm, what´s this? Xena called in sick?

Nah, she quit coming after she and Sonja got in a big argument about a month back (pepperoni vs Italian sausage, if I remember right). RS kicked her butt out the back door. She wasn't any fun anyhow. I think she's got a thing for Supergirl.

Who doesn´t have a thing for supergirl? My kind of woman.
Even if willow's powers were to drain before beating illyria which I seriously doubt whats to stop willow from absorbing illyria's powers. As she stated in get it done she draws power from the strongest who are around her.

Good point, but I think that only applies to magical powers, like she did with Rack and Giles. She didn't drain Buffy (and before you ask, I think that she used her magical power to duplicate Buffy's physical power. If she'd drained her, she wouldn't have been able to fight those root things later)

Illyria with powers would have most likely kicked willows arse, but then again illyrias powers are limited to her powers, if that makes sense, whereas willow could do a lot more things

I think Illyria would win, I mean Dark Willow was still human, Illyria is a God. She has powers that date back before witchcraft and I think Dark Willow would have a tough time defeating such age old powers.

Not necessarily because in (Get it Done) willow absorbed both anya and kennedy's life force and that was the same episode where she stated she could absorb energy from the strongest people around her. Also if I remeber correctly in season 7's premiere willow did state she was connected to everything around her also just because she human doesn't mean her magiks couldn't protect hurt because she was both hit in the back with an axe by warren and blasted through a brick wall by giles with no apparent injuries.
