Of all of Joss' shows, which one would you most like to see a "Next Generation" series based on? (It might be argued that the Fray series is already a "Buffy: The Next Generation" series, but for the sake of this poll, Fray isn't an option. We have to have a totally new series)

(For those very few who might not be familiar with the reference, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was a continuation of the original series premise, but set further in the future. The same Federation, the same ongoing mission, but 40 or more years in the future, with a new crew and new "Enterprise.")

I chose Dollhouse, because I think there are stories left to be told, particularly the timeframe between the main series and the Epitaphs episodes, but afterward as well. I have not kept up with the comics after the one-shot but I hear good things about them.

I would have chosen Buffy, except you wouldn't let me choose Fray. *pout*. Her story is the one I'm most interested in- I'm OK with the comics for the rest of the gang, besides our favorite vamps are looking a little "worn around the eyes". 😉

I would have chosen Firefly but
Book & Wash are dead
so I'm not sure if I want more stories without them.🙁 Well maybe resolution between Mal & Inara.

That wouldn't matter about "Firefly," since a "Next Generation" spinoff would involve an entire new crew, and maybe another "Serenity" 30 or more years after the original ended.
While I think a "Firefly" spinoff would be amazing and it would be a nice way to bring back that fandom, I love all the shows as they are. Seeing a reboot of any of them would be weird.

This wouldn't be a reboot of the same shows, I'm talking about an entirely new show and new characters years after the original took place, like the "Highlander" movies and TV series. Same universe, different characters entirely
I choose Buffy, simply because it's my favorite show.

If it's set in the future or past, or simply doesn't feature any of the main characters(other than references), I think they could include the comic events without confusing non-coming fans.

Of course, I wouldn't want the show set in the future until the comics are over. Would be a bit spoiler-y, to see if magic came back, if vampires are still popular, etc etc.

I voted for Dollhouse because I think that it is the story that still has more to tell. I enjoyed Dollhouse, but I've always felt like there is more to it than what we saw in the 2 seasons that aired.

I voted Firefly because I just finished watching it, and 14 episodes and a movie aren't enough! 😀

I'd love to see a Buffy next generation thing, but only if it ignores season 8. 😀

Yes, you're right. And I guess that's my problem with Firefly...since we got so few episodes (plus the movie), there wasn't enough time to expand the "Firefly universe", so I have a hard time imagining what a "next generation" would even look like. Dollhouse gives us a peek at that with Epitaphs: it brings in future storylines & other characters. Easier to expand upon. And Fray of course is already there: I still think a Fray movie would be kick-ass, maybe with some Buffy cameos (flashbacks).

Chose Firefly. I seriously can't get enough of stories involving any kind of Space travel. I find it endlessly fascinating.

And I like how the Alliance is set up. I'm sure they would try some other awesomely fail things in the future, for the future crew to clean up. And I want to see it! 😀

I choose Buffy. But I want to choose them all just because I love them all.

But I think it'd be cool to have a Buffy the next generation. And fighting vampires and demons with a new ( next ) generation. Everything would be so current in what's going on now. With technology. Texting, tweeting. Yadda yadda yadda.😀

I'm very tempted to pick Firefly since I would love to see more from that universe.

But in the end I choosed Buffy.
BtVS has a great mythology that can be expanded in so many ways. Think it's a wonder that we haven't got more than Fray already.

Angel - So another vampire with a soul trying to redeem everything bad he's ever done? I love Angel the show but no thanks, I'll pass.

Dollhouse - With current cast we've seen the future and I don't need anything similiar to be made all over again.

Firefly: Sure the premise of the show was ok but it were the characters that made it what it was. If they can come up with a cast almost as good, sure thing. Give me a new generation.

That would have been my vote (Fray) so I guess I won't vote. Would really like to see it as a show though.

In a way I've already seem this with Firefly and the fan made film Browncoats:Redemption, so I'll go with that

Definitely Firefly, though the characters would have to be just as good as the previous ones. The others should stay as is really, as much as I like them.
