Get your popcorn out, cause it's time to talk about this year's released and upcoming films! 😀

So, what movies are you guys planning on seeing or what have you seen? I thought this would be a convenient thread so we don't have multiple ones popping up on different movies! 🙂

Um, well I've seen a lot so far! The worst film I've seen this year is probably Killers with Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. A comedy/action film gone horribly wrong, lol. The two upcoming films I really want to see are Salt with Angelina Jolie, and Tangled. Tangled looks like it'll be a lot like the original Shrek film, and any movie with Angelina I see, regardless if the plot looks familiar! Here are their trailers:

Alice In Wonderland made a huge impression on me...

And I so wanna see Easy A

Ooh, Easy A seems super fun!
I've only watched two new movies this year so far, which coincidentally (*coughs*) both starred Robert Downey Jr.; Iron Man 2 (where my only complaint was that it was a little less awesome than the first) and Sherlock Holmes which was much more awesome than I imagined. Both great movies.

I've wanted to see Alice in Wonderland but couldn't find a theatre near me that showed the original English version. I'm not watching a movie where Alan Rickman plays a caterpillar without THE VOICE. :eek2:

Like Tsquared, I'm also looking forward to seeing Salt. TCT, you may have made me want to see Easy A, too. xD

oh my, the Easy A looks so funny, wanna see! 😀

I would also like to see "The lovely bones" I missed it when it was in the theatre. And "The men who stare at goats" and "The countess" 😀

As for "Alice in Wonderland" I saw it and was grotesquely disappointed 🙁

I thought Alice in Wonderland were great! But I've never read the book, maybe you have? I can imagine that you could be disappointed if you have and have formed an attachment to the characters and see them a certain way.
We are definitely looking forward to seeing "Tangled" in our house. 🙂 We first found out about this movie early last year when they were still calling it "Rapunzel". But yeah the drawings look great. 😀
Of course, I am excited for this:

OMG, I can hardly wait!!! 😀
I don't know what else is coming out later this year. My kids are wanting to go this weekend to see "Toy Story 3", but I'm thinking it's just gonna be a lot like the first one, with Buzz not believing he's a toy.

Eclipse... Oh jeez... ;)

Eclipse karma :D (L)
Great thread, I've never heard of tangled or easy a but they look awesome!

This year I'gr like Sherlock, iron man 2, kick add and date night! I'm looking forward to shrek! I love the shreks.

So far I've seen Sherlock homes, and Get him to the Greek. Sherlock Holmes was really good, and Greek was hilarious. Oh, and Alice in Wonderland, which besides Johnny Depp, wasn't very good.
I'm really looking forward to Inception, cause I loved Memento and it looks like it could be the same type of movie(same director).
I want to see Scott Pilgrim because I read the comics and they are pretty good, and I like Cera.
Grown Ups look like it could be really good, just because of the EPIC cast.

Lol Eclipse, I've read the book and I still don't remember the plot.
But I'll probably go see that one too 😀 not at the premiere though (Learned that lesson with New Moon. Dreadful idea)

maybe because there WASN'T any plot besides "WAHWAHWAH"? ;)

Eclipse was the one about Victoria creating a newborn army to come try to kill Bella, and the Jacob/Bella/Edward love triangle reaches its peak. :)
Sherlock Holmes I cannot praise enough. I fell in love with it in minutes! I absolutely loved it! I may be biased because Downey Jr is my favourite actor and I LOVE him but it's an awesome movie that really bought some of the undertones of the novel to the surface.

I've not seen much else this year which is shame. Invictus was pretty good. There's tons of films I want to see, I should really get on that.

I haven't really seen many new movies this year. Erm i went to see 'Hot tub time machine' and 'Kick Ass' and i enjoyed those but i cannot wait to see 'Shrek 4', 'Toy Story 3' and 'Eclipse'.OOOh and i cannot wait for 'Harry Potter' to come out either 🙂

My favourite movie of 2010 so far has to be The Book of Eli. Denzel was excellent, the mise en scene was spot on & the story, though simple, was well executed & involving. Also, a nod to the fight choreographer, the two main sword/machete fight scenes were absolutely brilliant.

glad to hear it was good going to rent that :)
Great thread!

I actually thought that Alice in Wonderland was great, but I have on the other hand never read the books, I can imagine that could be the reason I like it more. It's hard to see characters you have formed an attachment to in films when they aren't like their supposed to. I don't like the Harry Potter movies for instance, and I mean, those movies even (kind of) follows the books plots... 🙂

Anyway. I'm looking foward to this documentary - Winnebago man 🙂

I think this premiered in 2009 in some countries, but as far as I know it never went up in theaters in Sweden at all (in norway it was january 2010 tho, so I'm taking it to this thread 🙂), so I only saw it this year. Loooooved it!

So cute!
This year, I've only seen How to Train Your Dragon (awesome and adorable, even though I saw it on a pity date with some guy I barely know), Iron Man 2 (decent, but not nearly as good as the first one), and Prince of Persia (I had really low expectations for it and still thought it was terrible) and I plan on seeing Toy Story 3, Salt, Inception, Scott Pilgrim, and maybe Deathly Hollows if my friends take me to see it.

Considering I usually see a movie or two a month, I think this has been a pretty bad year for Hollywood.

I completely forgot about that movie earlier, shame on me! Whip It was FANTASTIC. It didn't get a theatre release in Germany either but I loved, loved, loved it (even though the romance aspect was boring. But the rest of the awesomeness totally made up for it.), watched it at least three times throughout the last two months. I may be a tad bit obsessed. :tongue3:

Lol, actually, I just looked it up. It's supposed to be released in October over here. Totally counts.

I know, right! It's fantastic! I think it was released on dvd in Sweden in like april this year. Very strange, especially considering that Ellen Page has quite a fan base here after Juno.

Oooh, I forgot about "Whip It"! I need to put it in my Netflix queue.
I want to see Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender." I'll just run away in shame now...
Why run away?
"The Last Airbender" is the only upcoming movie I know about and are looking forward to. 🙂
