Films of 2010

Well I have not gone to the movies as much this year I saw The Lovely Bones, Nightmare on Elm Street and TLB was very good I thought they did a good job. Nightmare on elm street was good but it was a little weird considering it is a remake and a different Freddy.

Now I just rented Shutter Island and thought it was good but I don't know how I feel about it and won't say more because of spoilers. Those are the main ones I remember off of the top of my head.

I saw Robin Hood and thought that was excellent and rather beautiful. I also saw Sex and City 2 and thought it was disappointing and rather shallow.

Oh, yeah, Shutter Island was 2010, wasn't it? I LOVED that movie. Excellent story, with a great twist on the twist. Can I please marry Leo now?

yes I thought it was a great story as well. As soon as I can marry him ;)
Why run away?
"The Last Airbender" is the only upcoming movie I know about and are looking forward to. 🙂

Because when I mention having been a fan of the show, people think it's kinda weird.

But, I'm excited for the movie. I've never seen a 3D movie, but I definitely want to see this one in theaters.

ONLY ones? that's like, two dozen more than me! (sw)
Toy Story 3. ::heart::

I seen it Saturday with two of my friends and I don't really know what to say other than go see it! It's a great film, definitely one everybody to enjoy. Gotta warn ya though, it's a tearjerker in a lot of parts. I'm just hoping the Toystory films end here, cause this was a really good way to go out. 🙂

Holy crap, I didn't think I'd ever see the day where I wanted to see a Harry Potter film while it was still in theaters again. Check out the newly released trailer that I found on youtube, for parts 1 & 2 of DH. Looks amazing in HD!

I know! Saw the trailer last night and my jaw hit the keyboard!
I'm scared to be excited about the Harry Potter finale. I just saw the trailer today and it looks excellent, however I have been so brutally disappointed by the last couple of movies (especially the last one, no. 6) that I don't want to build up my expectations.
So I'll definitely go see it but I'll cross my fingers now and hope for these ones to be better than the last four. 🙂

I'm scared too! And yeah, I agree about not being all that enchanted by the last 4 films (my least favorite was PoA). But this trailer does look better than any of the previous trailers released for ANY of the Potter films before. Kinda does stink that it shows stuff from part 1 & 2. Now we have to wait 5 months after part 1 has been released before we can see all of that extra-fun gooey stuff 😀 (I just have a feeling part 1 is going to be mostly camping...).

Ahem, anyway, I'm of course excited to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I've seen a few other trailers, but nothing has really grabbed my attention (in the right way).

I know right! Watching the trailer I was like - that can't possibly be for the first part.
I'm curious to see what part 1 will be, but I have the same feeling as you do... though I hope the fact that they've split it in two will give it a chance to be better than the last couple of ones.

And yes, this trailer is definitely the most exciting HP trailer I've seen.

(oh and PoA is my least favorite too, but I watch it all the time for the sake of Gary Oldman 😉)

Crazy!? I'll give you crazy lady! You. Me. *throws thumb out* Outside. :p:p
I agree with you guys, I haven't been impressed by a Harry Potter film since CoS. I don't remember everything from the DH book, but I'm anxious to see the part where Helena Bonham Carter plays a certain main character. 🙂

Anyone else think the final scene of the trailer, when Harry and Voldy are locked in a duel, is major eye-candy (minus the bodies)? I love the setting and coloring going on there! 😀

*stares at thread in disbelief*

Not been impressed since CoS?! PoA is definitely one of my favourites but I absolutely love all the films from three onwards! I think they've been amazing and just gotten better and better. I love the books and the films as much as each other but I also kind of separate them as two parts of the same thing.

I am so unbelievably, inexplicably excited for the DH films. I cannot describe it. I've watched trailer a few times already and every time its given me goosebumps. The first scene when Harry closes his eyes - perfection! *starts counting down the days*

lol *stares in return* thinks they've gotten better and better? you're so crazy Flan :)
I never really liked any of the Harry Potter movies, and I won't go see the new one, but they did get better over time. I can't stand the first 2 or 3 because the actors are so young, but the 4th one was pretty good.

*Gawks at thread with Flannen*

For reals?!? The Harry Potter movies have gone from strength to strength I've thought, I was excited for the new movie, and that add just made me super excited, it looks EPIC!

I saw Shrek 3, it was good, but felt like they were very much just trying to give it an ending rather then make an awesome movie, which I guess is good, but Puss in Boots stole the show, that fat cat sliding down ropes had me laughing so hard I cried in the cinema, twice!

Flannen agrees: *hands BEG 3D glasses* It's so shocking that I feel the gawking/staring should be in three dimensions!

Makes sense, everything is in 3D now a-days!

You meant Shrek 4 I bet ;) Saw it yesterday, it was a good one!

Even before they made the official announcement about splitting the films, many fans were already for the idea. This is probably because it means more Potter (something I think neither the fans nor WB mind all that much 😉 ).

I think that my biggest problem with the last 4 films has been this sort of rushed feeling (especially in OotP). The 5th film had the shortest running time and yet it's the longest book in the series by a lot. I've read many interviews with the various directors and producer, and they all say that nobody wants to sit through 3 hours of film. I agree with this to an extent. No bad movie is short enough, and no good movie is long enough. If people sit for hours watching Titanic (the #2 highest grossing film), then they can do it for one of the Potter films. It also didn't help that Richard Harris died (I really can't stand Michael Gambon, except in HBP).

I also agree that Gary Oldman was terrific as Sirius. It did, however, take many years before I liked David Thewlis as Lupin.

I love Helena!

Oh, and I love the last shot in the trailer. The wide shot I mean. It looks like it's in the courtyard or something rather than the Great Hall. That makes me a bit sad... oh, and where is everyone? Aren't there supposed to be people standing around them? All I see are bodies on the ground... 🙁
The scene looks beautiful though. I've always admired the cinematography of the Potter films!
