Films of 2010

Im pretty excited about the last HP movie, Im happy there will be much more Helena Bonham Carter in it!
Is it sad that I cant wait to see the torture seen between Bellatrix and Hermione played out on screen lol

I really couldn't agree more. I can't get over the rushed feeling nor the needless little changes they make (like them running around in normal clothes for one!!) and of course the loss of Richard Harris.
I really can't understand what books Michael Gambon read in preparation (if he read any) surely it wasn't the same I read.

Now the films are still enjoyable to some extent but only the first two were fantastic. After that it feels like the directors have put 'their' spin on things and well for me it just falls flat (I almost walked out of the theatre during "The Half-blood Prince")

Now if you excuse me, I have to meet Flannen outside ;P

Gambon actually admitted to not reading the books at all. Not surprising really. How he thought that he could just rely on Kloves' writing and understand what he needs to do is just frightening! And I agree, I do enjoy the other films as movies. And I kinda liked HBP (more than I liked OotP anyway). When McClaggen puked on Snape's shoes, I burst out laughing! Still hilarious. I know it wasn't in the books, and generally I hate it when they add stuff like that, I kinda appreciated it. However, I just have to mention that I think that Alan Rickman checked himself out of the last movie. I know he's a good actor, but he fell flat on his character development in this one. However, I read that they actually did film the Snape's Memory scene for DH, so I'm really hoping this last one goes better.

Haha, Potter always brings out the beast in people... 😉

Lol. It does! When I say I haven't been impressed since CoS, it doesn't mean I hate all the newer films (with the exception of GoF). I thought HBP was pretty decent, I think the score stood out more than the actual film and it has actually been my favorite so far. Shoulda at least been nominated in some kind of awards category, I thought the intro was amazing!

Oh, I know! I loved this soundtrack! It's one of the two Potter soundtracks that I own (this and PoA). I also love the Fireworks song 🙂 . Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it!

I loved the PoA score too, I think I still have like a set of the soundtracks from the first three films around here somewhere....

I want to go see it but I will so give it a couple of weeks. Me and my friend were dumb enough to go to the premiere of New Moon and man, those kids who went to that were crazy and not one of them kept quiet for even two seconds of the movie, really kind of ruins the experience when you get to hear everyone elses opinions on what's going on :S

(Like when Edward leaves and a girl screamed: "Finally!" That's just disrespectful to me)

I had one girl at New Moon who kept stage-whispering that Edward "LOOKS LIKE A FISH. HE DOES, DOESN'T HE? HE LOOKS LIKE A FISH". Took all my self restraint not to decapitate there and then!
I went to see Half-Blood Prince at a midnight showing, and the fans there also made some noise, but not so that it was annoying. We laughed harder, that's for sure, but we were also able to keep very quiet during some of the more serious scenes. Seeing as many Twilight fans are old Potter fans, I wonder why there is such a difference?
 
When I saw new moon the fangirls were crazy, sobbing and yaying through the whole thing!

Although I probably annoyed them just as much scoffing and laughing at most of the movie.

I hate that those movies are so bad, but the story thats going on has an interesting bit (those vampire leader guys, and how they couldn't hurt Bella and all that stuff), and the adds for the movies always look so good, that I'll end up seeing Eclipse but then regretting it.
 
I went to New Moon with one of my guy friends just so we could hate on it (we're odd like that). The best part was the gay guy sitting next to us whispering naughty things about the male actors on the screen. I laughed harder with him than I did at the silliness of the movie!
 
I cannot stand loud people during movies! I remember going to see The Messengers (with Kristen Stewart) the night it was released and before the Twilight craze, and it was completely insane. It was a pretty large theater, and every time Kristen's character would say something people would mock her. Like one time:

Kristen's character: WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!
Some random chick: YOUR MONEY!

Lol. The worst part is people kept laughing which didn't seem to help in shutting her up. And oh, I'm totally going to see Paranormal Activity 2. Check out the trailer:

OMg, I cannot handle that trailer... Did you notice the reflection of the baby in mirror does not match what is in the crib??
Oh, I hate scary movies! I hesitated in playing that trailer... I kid you not, I just flipped my laptop back in the air, shut it, covered my ears, closed my eyes and proceeded to utter several profanities after that guy came flying towards the camera... that is how much of a wuss I am. I am not exaggerating here!
 
Of course it had to come another one. Watched the first one, laughed more than I was scared and found the teenage girls screamng and hiding in the cinema way more fun to watch. Doubt I'll watch this one. But I'm sure a lot of people will. The trailer wasn't the slightest bit scary though. Or maybe that's just me. Eclipse I'll watch at some point but I'm in no hurry. As for Harry Potter I think I'll wait and see if I can wait until the second part comes out. Just seeing half a movie and then wait for so long isn't fun.
 
@ Tsquared I saw the movie opening night and people did the exact same thing. One of my friends even screamed. It seems like every time I go to the movies at night people scream and talk back to the screen. I now go to the early movies lol.
I am seeing eclipse next week sometime waiting until the crowd dies down.

Eugh, saw the Paranormal Activity trailer earlier today. I told myself not to put it fullscreen. I told myself not to plug the speakers in. I told myself not to ramp up the bass.

I clearly don't listen.

That. Noise.

It just... gets me. I hate it. But I'll tell myself not to go see it at midnight, and it'll be just as ineffective as telling myself not to do all that stuff for the trailer. But this time there's a baby? REALLY?!? That's just not playing fair!

I know!!! How the hell can they be scaring a baby?! That's so not cool!

Did anyone else notice in the screenshot that shows on the YouTube video up there that the baby's reflection in the mirror does not match up with the scene?? Is that supposed to mean that the ghosts show themselves in the mirror as other family members???

I saw Eclipse last night and OF COURSE it was amazing and totally epic and beautiful. The fight scenes were completely bad-ass... I LOVED it! It's 100 times better than "Twilight" and 50 times better than "New Moon". 🙂 David Slade did everything right!

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that a friend and I are going to see Eclipse soon...

And, actually, I love going to movies on the first day, because I love it when the audience talks during the movie. (sw) I always find it to be really funny. 😀 Plus, I can usually never shut up during movies lol, although I TRY to stay quiet.. 😉 (Plus my friends are always telling me to shut up at the movies, but it doesn't really work that well. 😀 )

I MUST TAME THEE!
I try to not talk at the theaters because I know how much it bugs me when other people are talking. I went to a Potter film a year or so ago and there was a lady having a coughing fit throughout the whole dang movie. Plus, right when you see the great hall all smashed up and you're about to cry, someone let loose a fart... a loud one. And the lady behind us said, "well somebody should have passed on the tacos." Nobody laughed. It was all just very annoying and rude. But I have had good experiences with people laughing like crazy and cheering and whatnot. Like the third time I went to see Napoleon Dynamite... it was probably the best movie experience I've ever had.
 
lol, I do Not talk during movies, I'm the scary old lady who Will shush and glare at people who do though 😉

I have not seen Paranormal Activity but I love loove scary movies so I might watch it and then go see the second one, the trailer was pretty cool.
 
I still can't bring myself to watch the trailer... I don't mind gross scary. It's jumpy scary that I can't do.
 
I have a HUGE laugh, and laugh allot, like at anything.

When I went to see Cars (the Disney movie) I was laughing so hard a 7 year old told me to be quiet...
