Final decision is reached on SMG's return to Angel!

I'm right there with you Angels Baby120. She didn't have to be in the end, just there for a little while. Kinda like Willow and Faith were in Season 4. I'm suprised because I read the TV guide and it said that
Buffy might be coming back with Dawn at her side. All well ::crying::
 
Yep... And Dawn is going to be on it, i think. And w/out Buffy Dawn has no reason to be there... Still disappointed.....
 
You know what though?

I can't help remembering the final scene of Destiny when they slipped Christian Kane in under the noses of all the best spoiler people on the web. Apparently they filmed his scene in a secret location.

Think about it? We're pretty sure Buffy won't make it, right? Wouldn't it blow your mind, if they pulled a sneaky and snuck her in anyway?
 
Yeah.... Then I would be *so* mad because they made me freak out over nothing....
 
Buffy is a great character and I'd love to have seen her once again, but this is Angel's show. I haven't been a huge fan of Angel's show but I it'd be wrong to have Buffy be the focus of Angel's finale. I have my reasons for not liking Angel's show as much as I did Buffy's but from the times I got involved with Angel's show, I've come to really identify with the cast. Everyone on Angel's show has grown tremendously and developed into incredible characters. So, as much as I wanted to have the guys from Buffy involved with Angel's finale, it wouldn't do Angel's finale proper justice.

With that said, I'm stoked about the Angel finale being a two part! That'd be awesome. Also, dealing with the issues about Angel taking over Wolfman and Hart was a long time coming. I wonder what the writer's have in store for the finale because I definitely want to find out why Angel & Co. were handed one of evil's strongholds. It'll make one hell of a series finale!
 
Im glad she wont be in the very last 2episods,because it should end with Angel and the FG,not changing thing's for SMG to play a part :: dracula

I'm kinda happy that Buffy won't be in it...and I am satisfied witht the thought that at least Sarah was willing to do it...
I don't want Dawn on the show...there is no reason period for her to be on the show...
The only characters who really have a right to be on the show are Willow and Faith...has they have both contributed majorly to the series sepret and apart from their roles on Buffy....
 
I figured she'd be in at least one episode too, but hey - I'm not gonna lose any sleep at all for her not being in any of the episodes.

Even though, it'd be nice to sort out that Angel/Buffy/Spike triangle. . . with Buffy.

I am totally spuffy obsessed but I have to agree. I wanted it but as the season has gotten better and now with Illyria to deal with, I just want it to be wrapped up with the fang gang. We can hear about Buffy through dialogue.

But Joss's latest comments have actually made me think that Fox may pick up Angel for another season. Or make some tv movies. I now have faith that we will see more of the Buffy/Angel verse in the future!!!!

I keep seeing mixed thoughts about SMG not being in ANY of the final eps of Angel. For those of you who are glad, then you can not call yourselves true fans! If not for Buffy, there would be no Angel!! I am so upset that they did not find SOME WAY to have buffy come back. The finale of Buffy left viewers with a lot of unanswered questions, and many hoping to see them answered through Angel. Since this isn't going to happen, what is the point of buying the finale DVD's? Knowing that you are just going be even more upset to see it end the same, why waste the money? This is hard for me to say, because I LOVE both Buffy and Angel and have bought all the DVD's out so far. I only wish that Joss Whedon will throw out a small ray of hope of a possible reunion to finally give those of us who need it some closure! I speak not for me, but for thousands out there demanding answers! While it's great to imagine what could happen, it's better to KNOW! Please!! STOP TAUNTING US!! ::crying2:
 
Ok... I think I understood what you said. Why should the answers about the Buffy finale be answered during the Angel finale? The show only gets one, why should Buffy get "two"? It is called Angel for a reason. They deserve to have the correct ending.

SMG Interview Regarding Angel

I was watching Screenplay (UK MTV show) and randomly something popped up about Angel. I dont know if this has been posted as I'm trying to avoid this forum but here we go.

The interview set looks like the one she a Scooby Doo 2 one. In it she stated that she was not asked to appear in the last episode of Angel but rather the one from last but she couldn't because she was in Tokyo filming (is it me or are they still filming the last few episodes anyway?).

She also stated that she believes fans may think her appearing makes the show about Buffy rather then "Gunn, Wesley, Fred" etc (in other words she named them).

The presenter then said that the Angel series finale would be on Sky on June 7th, so we have a date.

The episode of screenplay is the one pretty much about Shaun of the Dead, according to the site is is on "Fridays at 5.30pm, Saturdays at 11.30am, Sundays at 1.30pm, and Mondays at 7.30pm." Although I'm watching it on Wednesday so who knows.
 
yeah she couldnt make it for ep 20 but she could make it for the series finale but Joss didnt want her in the finale and for it to be all about the guest star.

Don't expect Buffy to show when the end comes for Angel.

Set storylines and scheduling conflicts mean onetime vampire slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar won't be reunited with her undead love when the WB's Buffy spinoff takes its final stab this May.

In an interview with TV Guide Online, creator Joss Whedon said he didn't invite Gellar to appear in the Angel series finale because he didn't want the sendoff to "revolve around a guest star."

"We will deal with the issue of Buffy and how much she means to Angel and Spike, but I want to end the show with the people who've been in the trenches together, the characters who have lived--and occasionally died--together...the regulars."

Gellar was invited to return for the second-to-last episode--the same way David Boreanaz appeared in Buffy's penultimate episode--but the blonde babe couldn't make it because she was in Tokyo shooting the horror film The Grudge.

And by the time producers learned she'd be available for Angel's final episode, it was too late. "We had already written and shot the episode [for which we originally wanted her] which emotionally dealt with [the romantic rivalry]," Whedon's partner, Jeffrey Bell said. "So, to go [back] and force her into the very last episode to retread stuff that we already dealt with didn't make any sense.

"By the time it became a possibility," he goes on, "the ship had sort of sailed."

Instead, the Buffy-Angel-Spike love triangle will be resolved sans the Slayer's participation. "Angel and Spike arrive at an understanding--that's all I'll say about that," Bell said. "And without her being involved, Buffy's character has come to some sort of understanding too."

Less understanding about the show's two-part finale airing May 12 and 19 are the diehard fans, who are hoping for an eleventh-hour miracle. Devoted viewers have mobilized a "Saving Angel" campaign, blitzing the network and media targets with pleas to spare the show, now in its fifth season. A rally is planned March 31 at the Warner Brothers production offices in Burbank.

They might as well try tapping the legal services of Wolfram and Hart. According to E! Online's TV guru Kristin Veitch, Boreanaz is already "looking forward to new challenges." He feels for the fans "because they have been so supportive," but "it's time to start a whole new journey."
 
T'is a shame really. But wasn't the deal originally that she's leave the Buffy character for at least a year and then return if there was a S6?
I can't see Spike and Angel agreeing on anything like that though.

Jeffrey Bell, who co-wrote and directed the finale of The WB's vampire series Angel, told SCI FI Wire that scheduling conflicts and story concerns were the main reasons why Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar won't appear in Angel's final episodes. Angel co-creator Joss Whedon had asked Gellar to appear while Gellar was busy. But when Gellar was available for the final episode, producers opted not to include her, because they didn't want the show's finale to be about Buffy, said Bell, the series co-executive producer.

"Buffy [Gellar] is an aspect of Angel," Bell said in an interview. "It would have been great if she could have come in for one of the last couple of episodes, but not the finale. But Sarah was in Japan shooting her feature [The Grudge] right up until we were shooting our last episode. Joss had asked her if she was available for number 20 ['The Girl in Question'] or number 21 ['Power Play'], and she wasn't. So we wrote number 20 [as] a story that dealt emotionally with Buffy, even though she wasn't in it."

Bell added that the finale, "Not Fade Away," "is about our people and everything we'd been through. And we'd already written about Buffy in number 20. So the ship had sailed and there wasn't a lot we could do about it.

"It would have been great to have her," Bell added. "It would have been a huge ratings boon. The fans would have loved it. But not for the finale. That's not what Angel ultimately is about. We struggled so much to get as many of our stories resolved anyway. I can't imagine having added that to the mix as well."

The WB will air "Not Fade Away" on May 19.
