Hey guys!

Not sure if anyone remembers me but I was active a few years ago, and then I just kinda... stopped to log in. I had a lot of pressure on me at the time and I was in a bad place, so I did what I always do - shut down parts of my life to handle the rest. Doesn't work very well for me in the end, but you know, I'm still floating so that's something at least!

Last weekend I decided to introduce my friend to Buffy, so we've started watching the entire show from start to finish (including Angel). We're just halfway season 2 of Buffy (one of my favs). That's when I thought about you guys and how much I missed BB! I guess it took the Scooby gang to straighten my priorities and join up with you peeps again. It's great to see old and new faces alike stalking these boards!

One question, who can I get in touch with about changing my name here on the forums? Is it even possible? Okay that was two questions... I don't use this handle anymore so it'd be easier if I could have the same as on other sites.

Welcome back! Totally know the feeling, I went through the same thing, leaving when things got too crazy in my life, but coming back here was one of the best decision I've made.

Little known fact: 'Frooley' is also the name of a Victorian dessert. I have a ye olde recipe book that tells you exactly how to make a 'Raspbery Frooley' (it's like a sponge-y cake thing with fruit.)

Welcome back SinisterPledge, we've never met because I only joined in 2013 and then I too was absent for about a year before returning while my Buffy/Angel obsession was temporarily on pause.
I'm sorry you've been having a hard time in RL, there is nothing like turning to fiction for comfort. When my father died in '05 my mother binge watched the entire 4th season of my favorite show at the time, Quantum Leap with me. I was getting her into it, so we were working on it anyway but still. It helped me greatly because it's got it's humorous episodes as well as it's very dramatic episodes.

Buffy and Angel didn't come into my life, for real anyway, until 2013 (there was a thing when I was in high school where my mom tried to shove it at me, but it wasn't until after high school that I got into vampires so it didn't catch my interest then). Typical, I'm like the White Rabbit of fandoms, very late to most I've joined haha.

A lot of folks are apparently getting their friends into it, you are not the first I've seen say that around the Buffy communities I'm with. I need the DVDs before I can even attempt to try it out on mine, but they might like it.

That's great to hear! I've never watched Quantum Leap but if it's good enough to soothe that sort of crisis I should give it a try. Tv-shows are great ways to get lost into some different place when you need it the most. Watching Buffy with my dad as a kid is the only good childhood memory I have with him. He's not gone but sorta absent, so it's nice to have something I guess. Me and my mom actually did a similar thing like you guys, though it was due to our cat dying. We did a Dexter marathon. Not as traumatizing to lose your cat I guess but you know....it helped!

Yeah QL is a show I need to revisit. I remember my brother watching it a lot, but I think as a way of rebelling against him I decided not to give it the time of day😎 But have sort of decided since that it might actually be a decent show😉

You may want Lander to catch on but I'm not sure either Xander or Larry do, well maybe Larry😀

It's a great show, it's about a scientist who invited a time machine and is stuck out in past, under the guise of someone from a given time changing lives for the better, saving them from death or tragedy. So a little like what the fang gang does on Angel except he's got a computer and a hilarious, lecherous holographic friend instead of a vision girl. 😉
My best friend got me into it in '05, and I wasn't the most enthusiastic about giving it a try BTW but the first like ten minutes into it, I was hooked.
 
Oh yeah I do remember it quite well as I do the catchphase "Oh Boy" at the end of the episode😀 But at the time it just annoyed me because my brother took up the TV with it every night at six😱

Actually 'Oh Boy' was the phrase he BEGUN every leap with hehe. My best friend could relate to the sibling hogging the tv with a million watches of the same thing lol.

Hmm, I suppose that's valid though that's still the beginning of a leap it IS technically the end of an episode. So I'll take it. 😎
