This made me gag... from Adweek

April Fools' Day was a month ago, but KFC is only just now announcing that it has made two edible nail polishes that bring the classic tagline, "Finger Lickin' Good," grossly to life.

Ogilvy & Mather worked with food technologists at McCormick, the spice company that provides KFC's secret mix of 11 secret herbs and spices, to crate the nail polishes for KFC Hong Kong. The polish flavors are sourced from natural ingredients and based on the brand's two favorite recipes, Original and Hot & Spicy.

So, yes, it tastes like chicken—at least, the coated stuff KFC sells.

"To use, consumers simply apply and dry like regular nail polish, and then lick—again and again and again," the brand said in a statement.

"The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavor, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish," says Ogilvy creative director John Koay. "This campaign is designed to be intriguing and fun to increase excitement around the KFC brand in Hong Kong."

KFC really did make this stuff—thus, it's not exactly a gag. But it's not mass producing it. At least not yet. The nail polishes are packaged in a designer bottle and box and have been teased on social media in recent weeks.

This is an abomination. Harland Sanders will be rolling over in his grave with this news.

The first famous person I ever met was Harland Sanders, who live in an unassuming bungalow at 1337 Melton Drive, about four miles southeast of me. He was a huge supporter of Mississauga General Hospital (which has now become part of Trillium Hospital and deals with cardiology). he was invited by our church to fund a permanent chaplaincy at the hospital and he wisely turned it down - our money-grubbing minister was asking for $500,000 per year to be set aside for it. He sat in the front pew but was not able to get up to sing hymns, so he was quite noticeable. He came to church dressed exactly as you see him in the ads - white suit and bolo tie - and he was handing out autographed pictures of himself to the children. He had arrived in a white Cadillac with his line image on the trunk lid and was there with his daughter, Claudia. He signed the guest register as being from Shelbyville KY although he lived in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada for twenty years, only returning to the US in his last year. He had a magnificent cane that he told me was carved by an unemployed Appalachian coal miner during one winter. It was wood with three trapped balls carved in place in their cages. He had a gift for making the person he was talking to feel like the only person in the room. I met him in 1978 and he died two years later. In the last years, he sued Scott's Chicken Villa which was the Canadian management company that had bought out his stores because they claimed to be using his original recipe, but they outwaited him.

I have too high a regard for Harland Sanders to accept this kind of nonsense.

What a wonderful idea, if I'd known about them finger lickin' nails I wouldn't have started to smoke ciggys. But I did and they gave me cancer which caused my teeth to fall out and ruin my gums and now I can't have false teeth. AAGHH, now I can't bite my nails, OH WO IS ME!

Gross.

I hate KFC anyway, it's always so greasy and drippy. And I don't wear nail polish, so this is doubley something I would never have in my life.

Suddenly I thought of painted toes and the idea of toenail polish is not bad. Not KFC flavors but that is something I could support. Toes would be alright.

Ew.

Soon you guys will learn to appreciate me, the magnificent lunch lady.
