Fireball in the sky

Did anyone see the meteor that landed in the SSW of Western Australia on Tuesday evening, the early few hours (6 to 10 pm). As it was dark it lit up the sky big time, also to that was the sonic booms it caused as it was calculated speeds of 50,000 km.p.h.
The hunt is on to find it even though it is thought to be the size of a football (English not American). There are 50 or so camera looking at the sky every night for such an event.
The last meteor to hit WA was in 2016, even though it was smaller than the current one it was found 200 meters from where they calculated it to be.

I didn't see it, but the power was knocked out here. We had a freak tornado type storm that night (about 30km up the road) so I assumed the power outage was from the storm, but its possible the boom disrupted our dodgy lines.


It was so still and beautiful, and even though the moon was not far from full, the stars were spectacular and bright that night. I was in my yard making a fire to boil water for the roos bottle. It was really cold but so lovely and peaceful.

I gotta go camping and get this need for silent stargazing out of my system or I might nick off into the bush at an inappropriate time!

I saw it on the news...from someone's dashcam. That kind of stuff scares the crap out of me. 😨
