I bought the board game a weeks weeks ago and am super excited about it. Me and my roommates have only yet had the time to play it once, and of course (as with any good slightly more advanced board game) it takes a little time to learn "“ but it seems great to me. I also think it's absolutely beautiful "“ the design of the money and all the cards is just perfect. I wish there were more female characters to choose from as captains "“ I mean I get why there isn't but I would like it.

So, anyone played it? Is it as good as it seems to me?

I wish I could play a Firefly board game! I don't know enough fans to get them together to play though. LOL

I've played it three times and have come up with a fairly sound strategy (namely upgrade the ship as fast as possible and start at Osiris) and have loved it. I played with a die hard fan and a board game fan who hasn't watched it yet. The first time took us 5.5 hours and the next two times were around 2.5 hours. I think if we would play again we'd be down around 5 hours. I got so into it that I bought both expansion packs and I also have Into the Black, the card game. Haven't played that yet.

I think it's a great game, even better than Buffy, which is high praise for the game indeed because Buffy is an awesome game. I plan on finally modding how I play that because I've had it for so long and played so many times.

I got it for Christmas last year, but have never had time to learn it. It looks bewilderingly complicated. The last time I played board games, they had all the rules on the inside cover of the box...

Yeah, it's definitely not a quick game - you have to devote yourself to it, but you can collect the entire crew and fly around as Serenity, so for me, it's totally worth it. I had 5 out 9 one time and that was awesome.

I'd try and read the instructions a few times but really the only way to figure it out is to play. They released a PDF with clarifications that's about 2 pages that may help as well. I know it helped us. And we play with some house rules - not as big of a deal as the Buffy one but.
