Firefly Newbie - or how I learned to stop worrying and love Mal

I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive about Firefly after seeing Buffy and Angel. After all, it was a Joss Whedon project, wasn't it? Turns out, shouldn't have worried at all. I was hooked after 30 minutes.

Best first impressions . . . four, count 'em four! Buffy/Angel bad guys right off the bat (Marcus Hamilton, Jasmine, Ken and Caleb)

Best second impression . . . (showing my age) It's Harris from Barney Miller! Yay!

I just finished the tv series tonight 😀

My only regret is not watching it sooner!! I've completely fallen in love with it!! With Kaylee and Mal being my favourite characters!!!
It's just brilliant!! And alot of the episodes just have Joss Whedon written alllll over it.

Can't wait until Serenity arrives!! Yaayy! :bounce:

First I seen this was after the film. Wish I had heard of it sooner or it hadnt been cancelled. But if it didnt get cancelled we wouldnt have the film would we.

I watched it a few weeks ago and love it! My favourite characters were Mal and Jayne.

Mal: "We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so...very...pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die."

Jayne: "Testing, testing. Captain, can you hear me?"
Mal: "I'm standing right here."
Jayne: "You're coming through good and loud."
Mal: " 'Cause I'm standing right here."

Mal: "And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?"



I loved Serenity even more than Firefly, River was so much better in it.

I'd have gladly sacrificed the movie for a full television run. We'd have gotten so many more hours of entertainment, plus answers to a lot of those pesky questions like Book's past.

Serenity is a good film and all, but I'd much rather have had a full new season of Firefly. There was so much potential we never got to see. 🙁
