Firefly OC Idea (WARNING: May contain mature content)

CONCEPT

His mother was raped and impregnated by a Reaver and when he was born she committed suicide because his disfigured face reminded her of his rapist father.

At a young age, like River, he was experimented on and held captive by the Blue Sun corporation, and then he snapped, killing the people who experimenting on him and escaping the facility.

Now, walking between the line of sanity and insanity he is currently traveling The 'Verse while occasionally being chased by his past (His father).

Sounds a little dark for 'Firefly', would this guy interact with the Serenity crew at all?

My only real comment though is why was the baby disfigured?
Reavers aren't mutants or anything- they don't have distorted DNA so disfigurements that the Reaver father inflicted on himself wouldn't be passed on genetically to his son.

Maybe the guy was born onboard a Reaper ship, was scarred then and there and then was rescued/shot out of an escape pod/survived the crash landing and was raised elsewhere.
Or, instead of having him experimented on by some Corperation afteer the fact, maybe he was a 'reader' who was brought into the Reaper fold at a young age (teenager) but his abilities kept him from completely losing it mentally and allowed his to escape somehow?

On a seperate note I always thought that Yosaffbridg/Saffron was a really great character that a writer could do something interesting with- expand her backstory and such.

Just one question.

Would he be born with a disfigured face? The Reavers were just men who'd gone insane - they did that to themselves, no? I.e. they weren't born disfigured so why would their offspring if they had any?
