Firefly Trilogy

Nathan Fillion says the upcoming Firefly movie; Serenity, could be the first entry in a trilogy.

Filming starts early June for ten weeks for a projected release "early next year". The budget, previously listed as $35m, is actually about $50m. The deal they have with Universal precludes another TV show - so a revival ain't gonna happen. The plan is, if the film does well enough, to have a trilogy of films".

I hope for them it becomes a succesful movie then! I'm still not too sure whether I should go and see it.

I think we are going to see a "reverse Buffy Effect" As in that the Buffy show was spun off of a bombed movie and still became a great franchise anyways. ALthough Firefly was a great show, it still did tank (thanks to fox), what if the movies were to branch off into an awesome franchise, sort of a reversed version of what happened to Buffy, that would be cool. But yeah, a trilogy sounds good, the actors and Joss deserve that.
