The people in TV scheduling land are fickle so and so's...
Ratings go up and down all the time and they cancel a show like Firefly before it's even had a chance to win an audience base, just because a show doesn't hit huge view numbers in the 1st season it's canned.. it's not fair... Firefly should have been given a 2nd season regardless of the number of viewers it had - Buffy is a case in point - the viewer numbers for S1 weren't that hot, but in S2 and subsequent seasons they rose.
