Who else watched Firefly when it was on? If you were able to, and you didn't, then SHAME ON YOU! It was absolutely amazing, it had a better first season than either Buffy or Angel and had the potential to be truly magnificent. It was very different to Buffy or Angel, and due to Fox messing around with the show it was hard for a lot of people to get into it, i believe. But it's coming out on dvd in december, so for everyone in america or who can buy the dvd and watch it in their country, now's the chance to apologize to Joss and appreciate his mini-masterpiece, while waiting for the movie!!

For all the clever people 🙂D) who did watch Firefly, what was your favourite ep? Mine was Out Of Gas, but I also loved War Stories, Ariel, Objects In Space and Serenity Parts 1 and 2.

Hmm... I can apprieciate the show, but for some reason, i just didn't like it. I watched it religiously, and even tried to convince myself that i loved it, but try as i might, i never felt that thing (don't know what it is) that you feel when you truly connect with something.

I think I heard somewhere that Joss is working on a big screen version with the cast from the show. I don't know when it will be out in theatres though.

Yeah, that's right! The movie, written and directed by Joss 😀, should be going into production in January for a late 2004 release.

Kindred, I think your trouble with the show may be due to the way it was treated by Fox. They rescheduled the episodes so they aired out of order, which was extremely confusing and made the series less understandable and interesting. Out of the 15 episodes made, 3 simply weren't shown and the rest were shown in this order:
3,4,7,8,9,5,610,11,15,1,2!

Imagine watching Buffy season 1 in that order. Would you have problems connecting with the show?! Luckily, Firefly was shown in the correct order in some places, (Canada and the UK, i think there are others too) and in those places it has been a huge success. Ah well, at least we have the dvds and the movie...

yup it was great, really clever and very disturbing. i liked that it took place entirely on the ship, with only one character who wasn't a regular, and it was really psychologically scary and gave you loads of great insights into the characters. It felt like a really quiet and subtle ep, but was still hugely important and had big season finale qualities.

I never had time, unfortunately, to get into it. When it aired, it was only the very early beginning of the beginning of of my Buffy/Angel obsession and I had no idea who Joss was. I swear I would've watched it more if only I had heard a lot about the creator of some show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I watched some episodes, but I didn't really pay attention to them. I will definitely buy the DVD when it comes out.

Can you explain what happened in the final episode???

I am looking forward to the film, because I hope there will be some peeps from Angel & Buffy we might recognize.

Yea, I reckon that's likely 'cos didn't they use a few of the Firefly cast in the last few eps of Buffy and Angel?

Can't explain any of the eps yet as I haven't got round to watching 'em 😉 but I think Sci-Fi Channel are running them regularly in the UK so I will try and catch them.

Lilah- did you see the finale and not understand it or do you want a detailed description of what happened? Cuz i'll help ya with either one you want 😀

I only caught The Train Job ep while Firefly was being aired by Fox. I've been watching the DVDs though. This was one amazing show. Some of the eps are every bit as good as anything on Buffy, and just as funny!

Fox really blew it by showing it all out of order, not to mention moving it around in time slots (locally for me, preempted by Giants baseball) and in general not promoting it.

The DVDs are great. Just pop one in and settle in for the night. When one ep ends you go "I'll see just one more." But you won't get up until the disc is over.

Here's a question: Was Trash ever aired on Fox? Uncut?

Nope, Trash was never aired on Fox. Neither was The Message or Heart of Gold. I imagine if they got round to airing Trash they mighta had to cut a bit out, hehe! I know plenty of people who are happy they got to see his you-know-what in all it's nakedness.

Which is your favourite ep, Doyle? Mine is Out Of Gas, just because it's unbelievably beautiful, moving, stunningly directed and acted, plus it has fantastic music. I also luuub Serenity, War Stories, Ariel and Objects In Space. I'm sooo excited about the movie! 😀

I loved it- but unfortunately only caught the last six ish...

I think Kaylee was my favourite- I was such a Kaylee/Simon shipper... but Jayne was also cool 🙂

Yay, Becky, go you! Kaylee/Simon forever! They are just the cutest and most perfect couple. I'm also a Mal/Inara shipper...but only in the way they have loads of UST. I don't think I would actually like them if they ever actually got together... :/
