First Buffy Boards Memory?

Nerd4hire: I'm not sure what happened to Happy. He did come back for a while over the summer I think. Now he's gone.

Yeah, even though we argued, I do miss him. He was my main boxing partner.

Kinda have two. Well, the first is kinda lame, but it was Elmo helping me with a banner situation and she helped (being the sweetie she is 😉 ) That was the time I realized that there were alot of nice people here at the boards!
My second one was my breakdown about being depressed and not having anyone to talk to, so I started a thread about it. Everyone was great, and it helped alot. (The very missed Rayne being there, too).
Also, I remember being a complete dork! 🙂 (Even though, I'm not much better now)

He was fun. I can remember a few times late at night when no-one else was on, debating some insignificant tidbit on some thread only we cared about as if the fate of the world depended on it, looking up at the clock, and seeing it was past two in the morning. Finally I'd have to say to him, "Look Happy, I have to go to sleep. Let's pick this up in the morning."

Well, being newly joined and all (TODAY!)

I just wanted to say that I'm sure I'll have amazing memories. I'm starting right now with saying...

I have been lurking around and reading some posts. The members here are so versed, and I can tell that I am going to have amazing conversations with people.

So, my first memory is reading everybody else's posts in other threads.

I remember joining in February, just before my birthday. The "other" Buffy site I was on had just closed, and I needed a home, but I was intimidated by the tight knit group here. I lurked big time for a while, and my first real posting memory was in a thread about S6. N4H and I were discussing the darkness of that particular season, and I was delighted that someone liked that season for the same types of reasons I did! Then Mr. Pointy got into the mix in a couple of other threads, along with Redslayer (who changed her name since then to...wait for it...Jenny). I think the dam broke for good and finally got me fully addicted when we had the "dwarfy weather magic" stuff going on last winter. I'd never laughed that hard at something on a forum before!

I don't have a specific memory (my brain doesn't work very well sometimes). What I definitely remember is how unlike other forums everyone was made welcome. That's the very reason I joined up. I also remember that I was worried whether anyone would reply to my "Check-In" thread, thankfully many did.

i don't remember my first thread or topic though, but i do remember talking to rayne, and cordelia(not or now cordelia thiough 😉) and i remember the first person i PM'ed in my earlest days, souldgasm, and he was very kind and helpful(as SG is 🙂) OH oh i LOve this board!!!! you guys are so great!!!! I vaguely remember wandering over to BB's first incarnation from a site called BuffyUK way back in 2000. At least I think it was 2000, old age has clouded my memory somewhat. 🙂

It's a good thing I cleaned up my act! You wouldn't believe how this mod used to behave! LOL

I can't really remember much but I do remember once I got here and I started posting I'd always wanna come back to see what everyone had to say. It was very addicting 😀 I also remember how everyone was cool and nice and stuffs like that.

Hmmm, my first BB memory....Well, Cordy was the first person to ever PM me and say hello...I remember that well and it was greatly appreciated....Cordy your a gem! Also I remember being uber nervous about requesting a banner from Xander. I kept thinking.."Oh god, He doesent even know who I am...he's SO going to laugh at me." Yep, if I remember rightly the first time I started posting on "Buffy Boards" was back in late 2000/early 2001 Old age has clouded my memory somewhat. It had about 200 members when I joined. I liked it as there was none of the flaming going on that plagued other Buffy sites at the time. Or none of the "I've been here since it started so you must call me god" egotism of the board I swtiched from, so I stayed.
