Yes, it has arrived today, my first Christmas card. Wasn't from a person I know, it was from the Stephen Wiltshire gallery, but it still introduces that first spark of terror in me at what needs to be done (by me, obviously, nobody else will do anything) how little time there is to do it in and all the non Christmas things that need to be done first.

Now that means I have to start panicking. Because I have, yet again, not bought a single thing (ok, one, but it was for my son so it doesn't count!), I have no cards to send, I probably won't know until the week before Christmas if I am going to France for 5 days or not, so can't even contingency plan food wise - it'll be Christmas Curry again if I am home.

Who else is panicking?

not bought a single thing
Um?? seriously? 😉

Yeah, I haven't either.. I think those nightmares could be coming soon. Part of me is still waiting for Thanksgiving and I have to remind myself it's already December!

In addition I usually wrap and bake (i am not a worthless male, I too can bake!) on Christmas Eve but this time around I have plans.

i wrote my xmas cards today 🙂

I am so bad at that.. I hate GETTING cards so I never GIVE them.. bad scobby. But they are such as waste. I am saving the planet by never sending out any type of card.

oh I POSTED mine last year on the 1st!
I never send Christmas cards so it's all good for me...as far as I'm concerned, unless they contain some long written note they're useless just like cards in general...people read them, go "hmm" and then throw them out. Waste. Of. Money.

I keep my cards! But always recycle the stupid tiny square multi-pack ones from Mr and Mrs We Used to Be Your Neighbors and Still Feel Obliged
I'm planning on getting my Christmas cards from the dollar store. That way I don't spend too much money, but I can still get some decent cards. I save my Christmas cards, too, and cut 'em out and use 'em as tags on presents the next year.

Which reminds me... I haven't done Christmas shopping yet. That's it, everyone gets a box of See's candy. Quick and easy. ^_^

Ooh I love that idea with the Christmas tags! I'm so going to do that!
I plan on doing all my Christmas shopping without having to leave the comfort of my computer chair...

Are you sure you are a blonde? That is rather an ingenious idea. now if I actually GOT cards from someone other than vendors!

I was only blonde from about the age of 1 until I turned 2. ;) Born with jet black hair, now I've got brown. I just act blonde, mostly. Now to get you some Christmas cards...
I bought cards today. More expensive ones and a small (yes small) sum goes to charity. Granted the charity would get more money if I bought cheaper cards and gave the rest of the money to the charity instead. We all have our flaws... It´s not like I´m sending a big amount of cards. Mostly family (yep, we still have that tradition and put all the cards up over christmas) and some friends. Some time ago I sent a lot more but now it´s much much more reasonable. Still hate writing them though. But it has to be done. Signing is one thing, writing all the adresses. Not my favourite thing. Oh well...

As for gifts I´ve bought 3,75 today. Ok, so it´s supposed to be 4 so one small is missing but that´ll happen soon. Maybe even order tonight. And after that I just have one to my niece to buy and she´s got a christmas list so that won´t be a problem. 🙂

erased from your list? :'(
Oh god - there's another 2 arrived.

I think I may be doing ALL my xmas shopping in Dublin next tuesday on my 2p Ryan Air away day....

I don't buy Christmas cards for anyone. I love Christmas and I really get into buying the presents but then completely forget all about a thing called 'Christmas cards'. Seems like a waste of paper to me.

Okay I'm officially done. I've bought all the special cards, I've bought a pack of multi-cards and I've gotten aaaaaall the gifts for whom I'm buying for this year. And they are tucked way safe and high up on top of my wardrobe. In a LOT of bags. I'm quite pleased I'm done so early this year. I'm usually the woman fighting with a man over the last foot massager in the middle of a random Boulevard.

I'm so proud of me ::beams:: Haha.

The one with the built in spa action where you put water in it?? oh.. ooh yeah. I like all those things. That Homedics massager that Buffy got on her birthday is identical to the one I have. Is nice. Very nice. The ballheads can actually spread apart vertically and raise and lower for maximum resistance. Hard to use it on mah own shoulders but man.. I turn it on and place it behind my neck, lean back in a chair, put mah dawgs (thats feet to your square cats out there in cyberland) in that little footspa, turn on a water fountain, light some sandlewood and yeah. I dont need to pay for no spa! Oh.. crap.. I just realized that my metrosexuality came oozing out on that one.

I so need to go shopping this weekend.

I just went to a very happy place from that vicarious description haha
Rather than cursing, I thought I'd fess up. I've bought NOTHING, and I don't plan on buying anything. My family are cool and that, they understand I'm abit mental and don't like to get involved with all this shit, so it's cool. I just cannot be bothered with anyone, anything, nothing, what aload of balls.

My friend, Lorney Tunes, got me a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas poster, one of Ralph Steadmans drawings. Tis amazing. Love you, Lorney.

I don't know what I'm going to buy anyone, I don't want to think about it. I might just do a christmas dance for my family and friends, yeah.

I don't think I'm gonna buy anything for Christmas. Cards nor presents. We here in Holland don't really do presents at Christmas, so that's why no presents. And I fail to see the use of cards. The people I think about around that time know it, plus I will probably call them somewhere near the end of December, and the people I don't want to send a card, well, they wouldn't have gotten one anyway. So, nice, cheap Christmas for me this year. That is to say, I saw a nice fair trade Christmas crackers set somewhere around here. I think I'm going to buy that. They were made from nice and shiny paper and I will make some Nepalese farmers happy (or peruvian paper makers, or whatever. Like, true christmas spirit ^^)

That's it. I'm going to the shop and buying some right now. It's when you are older - all the family that give presents to your children. It looks poor if you don't send them a card! Might even get to post them today....

The poster is snazzy. So a Christmas dance eh? I'll look forward to that...

I bet those thingies, whatevaaaa they are, are probably made in China or Bangladesh ::huh1::

Well I myself will have to do some busy christmas shopping sometime this week. I've already got some cunning ideas, about what useless things I will buy. Looking forward to it.
