So for people like me that didn't catch Buffy from the beginning, what is the first episode you watched?!

For me, the first glimpse I saw of Buffy was the Halloween episode in s4. The first full episode I watched was Where the Wild Things Are, and if you ask me it's about the worst episode to start on lol, then I went on to start from the beginning since my dad had the DVDs
 
I think the first episode I saw was The Killer in Me. I don't know why I watched exactly that episode, I guess I picked a random episode and watched it online. But I know that I didn't understand anything! And how could I? I didn't know a single character, I didn't know what was going on with Willow and Warren. I don't think I watched the full episode, though. I then decided that it was probably best if I watched the first episode, and suddenly, I was hooked.
Months later, I watched The Killer in Me. I recognized it, and suddenly everything made sense 🙂
 
A friend of mine was a fan, and he was going to be out of town, so he asked me to tape the episode for him. "Once More With Feeling." I became a Buffy fan and a Spuffy shipper all in the course of a single 42 minute episode.

That's the absolute best episode to start on!
The first I ever saw was "The Witch" from Season 1. It didn't immediately get me hooked, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was WAY better than the movie.
 
I started Angel non netflix and 5 minutes in realized I needed to watch the first seasons of Buffy first so I did lol. unfortunately I had seen the part where he flashing back on everything that happened between him and Buffy so some things were ruined for me lol

The first ever episode I saw was "Choices". Saw the spiders, got scared and closed the TV. Next time my friend tried to make me watch it, she used "Surprise"... Needless to say it got me addicted!
 
Bad Eggs, and I watched on and off for the rest of season 2, as I didnt get the say of what was on TV. Once I saw the episode where Angel comes back from hell, I knew I wanted to watch properly so started buying the dvds.
 
Welcome to the Hellmouth was my first one. We started renting tapes at Blockbuster and WTTH/TH was one of the tapes. Fell in love with it right away.
 
My very first episode I watched was Fear Itself from season 4. I thought it was funny and scary and it got me hooked. I started watching every week after that and eventually got myself caught up on the seasons that came before that. But I remember reading all the transcripts before I actually saw any of the episodes from earlier seasons. I just wanted to know what I'd missed.
 
"Angel" was my first taste. I saw the cold open and my grandmother made me go to bed (I was 7). The next episode I saw was "Nightmares". hooked.
 
First episode I ever got a glimpse of? The Gift. I saw the last 15 minutes when I was little, and I cried like a baby. First episode I watched all the way through? Bargaining Part 1. The scene when Buffy's body morphs back to form in her coffin scared the living daylights out of me. But it so frickin' cool! I was an instantly a fan. 😀
 
The first episode I ever saw was Anne.

I had a crush on Seth Green so my friend who was a big Buffy fan handed me season 3 (on VHS!).

In hindsight it was a weird way to start. Buffy is on her own in this episode which isn't her natural state but she still kicked ass. I had run away from home at 16 so I really connected with Buffy. Later I fell in love with Faith but now she reminds me too much of myself as a teen so I get really angry with her! Kinda funny really.

When I introduce people to Buffy I either start them with season one or season four because seasons one to three are really like a trilogy.
 
My introduction to buffy was the movie....I didn't watch the show till way after it had aired... The first ep I saw - just cause it happened to be on tv was "go fish". 🙂

I'm the boring person who watched the show entirely in order. I didn't watch anything out of order, and I don't think that I ever rewatched any episodes until I'd finished the series first time through.

Same here and I didn't see the movie until the TV show was finished.
I got glimpses and watched episodes here and there so knew I liked it and dont hate me but I loved the movie (that was probably my first taste of anything Buffy) but the first boxset I got/ season I fully watched was season 4 (because I liked the dvd cover-I know, im fickle like that 😀 and also because I dont mind watching things non linear) and thats probably why its my favorite.
