Ok so something TabluaRasa said in the Sexual Orientation thread got me thinking about young love (and I mean young). I've got kinda a funny story behind mine, wondering if anyone else did either.

So when I was like 4, my concept of marriage was you married your best friend. And my best friend was my cousin (he's the same age as me). Unfortuantely, he had eyes for my other best friend, and sat me down one day to tell me he didn't want to marry me, he was going to marry my friend. And I was literally heartbroken. I wouldn't talk to the girl for like a week, and held a grudge against her for the longest time. But it's cool, we still tease each other all the time about it (some 18 or so years later)

I also fell in love with this kid in kindergarten. I still remember that....

Ok I realize I suck as a storyteller, but it is funny if you are me and looking back at it. Anywhoo, I was just wondering if anyone else had any "he stole my barbie" stories.

lol.....well in grade 2 there was this boy who gave me a note in class that said
"do you love me?"yes or no
haha! I made an extra box and put "I don't know"😛 I was very confused about all this!! later he gave me a pencil with hearts all over it and started chasing me all over the playground!!! oooh good times.....lol

Hmm...well, when I was about five, this boy in my class would not stop following me around, but I was the friendly naive type of child so I didn't mind him playing with us.
The one day were in the playground playing kiss chase and Mark (the boy) and his friend were the ones being chased. I erm, caught him but of course you never expect that to happen so we both sort of froze thinking what the hell do we do now. I eventually kissed him lightly on the cheek and then ran off.
He went home and told his Mother I'd kissed him, not bothering to explain the context. His Mother then consequently told my Mom and she wouldn't stop teasing me for like a year.
Mark never stopped trying erm...pursuing me if it can be called that when you're a child haha, so I constantly told him 'No, I'm too young for a boyfriend'. He eventually realized the truth when I was still saying this in High School and he found out I was dating someone from one of his classes. Whoops.

And there was a much smaller story of when I was seven years old and Roscoe, this other boy in our class, who even at such a young age was deemed The Guy (And he followed with this title in High School. He was sporty, did drama, and was lead guitar in a band that consisted of three guys from our high school. Like Devon said in BtVS; that was currency) and he sent me a note in class saying that he thought I was pretty and loved me. However we were doing a spelling test and the teacher saw the note and gave us both detention. I was outraged. Haha.

The story of my first "love" didn't get funny until years and years later.

When I was seven, I moved to a new school (just across town) and became absolutely smitten with a boy in my class. I was a shy kid, though, so I treasured the moments when he talked to me. The only conversation I remember, though, was when I told him that I really liked his eraser (it was awesome, it was shaped like a pencil, and it was green!) and he agreed to trade with me for something of mine long forgotten. Then he moved, and I was devastated. I never saw him again. 🙁 I kept the eraser for years though! Wouldn't use it, just kept it. 🙂
Anyhow, a few years ago, my then-best friend, whom I also met in that second grade class, was sleeping at my house and we got to talking about the good ol' days. We got onto the subject of first "loves," so I dropped his name (for the first time ever), and wouldn't you know, she had crushed on him too! It was classic.

lol sounds like he was listening to a George Strait song 😛

"Next day I chased her round the playground
Across the monkey bars, to the merry-go-round"

"Do you love me, do you wanna be my friend?
And if you do, well then dont be afraid to take me by the hand
If you want to.
I think this is how love goes, check yes or no."

As far as me...there was this boy in 1st grade and we were always together. I think he might've kissed me on the hand haha :lmao:

Aww. This is a cute thread.

I was boy crazy pretty much from the time I could walk. Granted, I didn't learn to walk until I was two or so, but still. The point here is that I have always been boy crazy.

When I was a kid, my next door neighbors had a boy and a girl who were both my age. The girl was a grade ahead. The boy and I were the best of friends. We went to pre-school together. We played together nearly every day. It was awesome. We thought this made us boyfriend and girlfriend -- until we realized that boyfriends and girlfriends had to kiss. So we perched atop the chain link fence separating our yards, puckered up, and tried it. I pulled away and said "No! I don't belong to you; I belong to my daddy." I am not sure where I got this idea. Apparently, I didn't have the whole platonic vs. romantic relationship thing figured out at the tender age of three. Anyway, the boy said "You're not my girlfriend anymore!" Distraught, I went crying to my mom. When she asked what had happened, I confused the word "dump" for the word "shove." My mom thought the boy had shoved me, not "dumped" me. By the time the whole mess was cleared up, I got in trouble for lying.

The boy and I remained good friends until I moved. Even then, we still saw each other with relative frequency because my Granny still lived in that neighborhood. We didn't lose touch until college. The coolest thing was that, years later, his family happened to be at a wedding reception on the same night at in the same reception complex as my wedding reception. When they saw the name, they came in to see for themselves -- and we had a reunion! It was neat and totally unexpected.

Too cute! And I love the whole bumping into each other at wedding receptions thing
Ok, this is the story that came to my mind:

I was about 10 years old and I was on holiday with family. My cousin was there with me. We were staying in my aunt's summer house. There were siblings staying there too- a boy and a girl(they weren't related to us) We four were playing together. But at one point mother of those kids started to call me her daughter-in -law. My cousin said it was because that boy had a crush on me. I was kinda shocked because I've never realised that before. Even now I don't know if he really had a crush on me but I remember very well how pissed off I was when his mum was teasing me. She was calling me daughter-in-law almost everytime she saw me. But now when I think about it it's so funny!

I went to an all girls school until I was 15, so I was pretty clueless about boys! I did have one good boy-friend though, and thinking about it now I guess I'd class him as my first boyfriend hehe. I first met Christian when I was about five I think, I'd just moved house and he was my next-door-but-one neighbour. Even though he didn't go to my school we became close friends, and we'd play together every night and weekend. We were very close friends up until I was about 9 when we began to drift apart. He was more interested in his guy friends and playing football 🙁

We still saw each other quite often though, until one night when I waved a tree branch in his face and his dad saw me. His dad marched me back to my house, told my parents what I'd just done and forbid me from seeing his son ever again! I was heart-broken - seriously! I remember looking in the bathroom mirror and crying to myself.

So I never spoke to him again, simple as that. We moved away when I was 15, so I've not seen him since, but I do think about him. Ironically, my current boyfriend who I've now been with for 5 years is also called Christian haha.

Let's see...there was this one guy who wanted me to be his girlsfriend. It had nothing to do with love though, lol. I was 7 and stopped by a friend's house. There was this boy, who I only briefly knew (now I don't even remember his name) and he also wanted to visit her. Well, she wasn't home so we decided to wait for her. Then the guy told me he wanted to ask her if she wanted to be his girlfriend, but now she wasn't there so he asked me instead. I was kind of perplexed and confused and this guy was just weird. Well, I turned him down.
And then when I was 9 this guy from my class asked me if I wanted to be his girlsfriend(having a boyfriend/girlfriend was VERY cool at that time...seriously, some kids had their birthdayparties only for couples. Thin king back, it was hilarious, lol). What can I say, I turned that one down as well. Am I heartless? lol
Other than that, I had some friends in kindergarten I probably was pretty close to. Most of them I only remember vaguely, cos none of them even went to the same elementary school I did and when I was 8 we moved to another town anyway. Well, even in kindergarten we moved once. In my first kindergarten, there were these twin boys. I don't really remember much about them (but hey, at least I remember them at all....pretty good, considering we moved the month I turned 4) but according to my Mom I liked them. Then, after we had moved, there were other guys. Most significantly two brothers and anoter boy. The one boy, Raphael, was really famous and lots of girls wanted him to be their friend. I remember there was this one girl cyring all day long or something because that boy didn't like her, haha. Well, anyway...I might have kissed that one, and the two brothers, at one time or another.

When I was four, there was this boy in my class who I really liked, he was my best friend, and, like Randi, I thought back then that you married your best friend. He was also the class 'stud' if you can call it that, and he used to go everywhere with me, and hold my hand. There was this thing that our teacher was making us do one day, she was either teaching us all to dance, or I'm remembering it wrong, but she told all the boys that they had to pick one of the girls to be their partner. Joe, my best friend, was the first to pick, and he picked me! I remember all the other gisl being SO jealous, and no one talking to me at lunchtime because Joe picked me! lol

Anyway, that was all well and good, and I thought Joe and I were going to get married and live happily ever after, and the Stork was going to bring us lots of babies...then he tell me that he's moving to Australia!! I remember being devestated, and sitting in my room and crying because he was leaving and I wasn't going to get to marry him! It broke my tiny little four-year-old heart!

I never had a first love until i was like 15... and honestly... that is not a funny story and it left in true and total heartbreak and trust issues that i still sadly have.....

So instead i will tell you all about my first crush it was with a guy in kindergarten.... His name was Christopher morrow.....Honestly i dont remember what he looked like or any of that at all i just remember thinking he was the greatest guy i'd ever met lol I would sit near him on the bus and i'd try to be next to him constantly he was just like the David Boreanaz of my Kindergarten..... Anyways one day i cornered him by a fence on the play ground and pushed him into it... then i kissed him...... When I let go i was smiling from ear to ear thinking ok now we're gonna get married and live happily ever after like in the fairytales....

Instead his face twisted up and his nose got all wrinkled up before screaming "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Your a girl!!! YOU GAVE ME COOTIES!!!!! GET AWAY FROM ME!" then he ran off......

Meanwhile i thought i had this horrible disease.... so when i got home from school i headed straight for the bathtub..... my mom was home but didn't really pay attention cause i did this alot.... anyways i got the water as hot as i could stand got in and started to scrub myself with a washcloth in this hot bubbly water....... I must have been in there at least an hour because the water was getting cold and i was just about to empty it and ifill it agian when my mom came in to see what was wrong.... why i wasn't out yet.... I had tears in my eyes and my skin was beat red from the scrubbing and heat.....

Freaking out she grabbed me asking me what happened what was wrong and my reply was

"You dont see it!!? I've got Cooties mommy.... Chris Morrow said so.....and i cant get them off... Help me...."

Meanwhile my mom is laughing so hard she had tears..... finally she explained to me that i didn't really have anything and the next day i cornered him agian and punched him claiming i didn't like him anyways and he was a big meanie....

Good story! That one made me laugh out loud!
I'll toss in a guy's perspective. When i was young i was allergic to everything, had thick glasses and was skinny as a rail. i was painfully, painfully shy, my one friend moved away in 5th grade and I had several secret crushes. Michelle Weber was probably my earliest crush, then Christine Van Der-something. I used to have little daydreams about going to the amusement park with fill in the blank. Looking back, I knew I had no shot with Michelle, but Christine was probably interested. I still felt rejected though.
I went through till 9th grade without a serious crush after that. I met this girl Donna who was generally grouchy and moody and I was smitten although still too shy to say anything so I kept quiet about it. Broke my heart the next year when I found out she was pregnant and got married at 16 and gave birth to a little girl named Angela that I drew smurf pictures for to decorate the nursery.
Then came my sophomore year when I started to blossom slightly thanks to weight lifting and some snappy clothes and it went downhill from there.

So we fast forward 17 years and my nephew starts dating this sweet girl named Angela....
Damn I felt old. Now she cuts my hair.

Haha this thread has cheered up my little hungover head.

When I was 9 or 10 I used to walk home from school and on the other side of my house was another school so all us rival school kids would walk past each other going home. This one boy used to always talk to me and all my friends thought he was so rough because he went to the public school, anyway one day he invited me and my friend up to his cubby house but I was scared that I'd get in trouble cause my parents might think it's dangerous!

Then one day on a Friday he gave me a bag full of all these really sweet things - A mirror he'd made in the shape of a heart, a photo of him, a mix tape and a backstreet boys CD, amongst the few I remember. I went home and showed my parents and they thought it was the cutest thing ever... Everything is long gone except for his photo which my mum put in our photo album.

Just under a year later I ended up going to the other school and me and my admirer were in the same class. Him and two other boys ended up being my best friends for the rest of primary school, getting into all kinds of trouble together until we all went to different high schools when that time came round.

I can't wait to read more of these.

My first 'crush/boyfriend' was a red haired kid called Tasman, He was my age and my little sister and his little brother were the same age. We knew each other from before we could walk and were in the same classes at school. We used to hide behind the couch and kiss and cuddle and play with his pet rabbits 😛
One day at school we were playing the infamous kiss chasey and I chased another boy and kissed him instead. Tasman was not too pleased about this so he went and kissed Tara and then there was all this school gossip (we were 7 years old!) I think the teachers ended up getting involved too! Eventually it all blew over and we were convinced that we were meant for each other... until I was 8 and I moved away 🙁 hehe I havent seen him since... Thinking maybe I should look him up on facebook hmmmm 😉
